I've been going to Dr. Khay since 1999. As well as the 2 other times they moved their offices, downtown San Jose and the first time near Tully Road.
It's good for me because the nurses/medical assistants knows basically any and everything that goes on about us. If I'm not there, my mom is, or Andrew. If we forget something or to be reminded to come back later for a yearly physical or shots (remember the swine flu?) they informed us quickly when it was in, and of course a first come first serve deal at the time for the shots, and we called daily about it, we got our flu shots. All three of us.
Mondays and Fridays can get hectic because of the weekend when people get sick or over the weekend or feel like they're sick before the weekend. Office hours are open on Saturdays, but it's at an odd hour. It's the first 20 walk-in patients, if you're #21, you're outta luck buddy, you get to return on Monday with all the others, and waiting can be deadly long.
** Their lunches are about 2 hours long depending on when the last patient is received.. sometimes 12-2 for their lunches or sometimes at 1pm ... so double check before you drive out there, I've done it a couple of times, including this past Thursday :( **
They do take insurance/co-pays, but sometimes it's cheaper out of pocket. $35 doctor's visit, unless you're trying to accumulate the medical insurance deductibles, then have at it. :)
It's a Cambodian doctor everyone goes too. There's Cambodian TV to watch as well if you're not eavesdropping on the elderlies gossiping about other people. I bring my nook to keep me company or play on my phone with the headphones on. Because there are kids that kinda just screams... for no reason at all besides the fact that maybe the wait is too long and that fear of receiving a shot from the doctor/nurse.
Office is located right behind the Regional Hospital and where the construction is being done for the hospital. there's a little turn to get into it that everyone misses, basically just follow the NO CONSTRUCTION PARKING sign :) read more
