Adopted this angel from Darbster Kitty

Thank you Darbster Kitty for my little sun shine! The application process was fast. I was able to bring her home the next day. The toys, carrier and bed I was able to buy were great prices too!

Bella loves to take walks on her leash, and she loves the fresh grass that I grow for her...

I got my beautiful Bella in April 2017... Little did I know, she would really be my saving grace after a horrific motorcycle accident in June 2017. I don't know where I would be if I didn't have Bella... She picked my grandson, and I out of many many people that absolutely fell in love with her, but we were her chosen humans.

They have the nicest kitties! My new baby had a really good foster mom-he knows his name, he knows "no,no", and he gives kisses. And even though it's normal for stress to bring the sniffles out in kitties, he seems to be fine. He's a happy boy and I am so grateful to have him.

Next morning after bringing her home!

I'm so happy I adopted my Emerald, Emme from Darbster kitty. It took 3 weeks to get my meet and greet to pick out a kitty, because they're only allowing 1 family at a time which was perfect! The only problem I had was choosing which angel I wanted to bring home! Thank you for our fur baby, we will love her forever... Adopt don't shop!

I can't imagine how we would have managed juggling our cat and our travel schedule all these years without her. Our guy, Tank, has spent many nights happily ensconced at The Cat's Pajamas where he enjoys spying on the comings and goings from the privacy of his own condo. Yes, we could leave him at home with a cat sitter popping by once or twice daily, but our dude is very social and gets lonely easily. Plus, he is a bit high-maintenance and Patty doesn't bat an eye at his extreme neediness. (LOL) Bottom line: Patty is a total pro. She is caring, considerate, and communicative. She keeps a close eye on her charges and intuits exactly what they need. I just can't say enough good things about her. Not only is it a very clean and calm environment, it is so clear that Patty cares for each cat and their needs. Their "condos" have levels for them to explore, each with their own box, and privacy curtains for cats who need more time to adjust to the space. Patty sends an email the day after drop off and throughout their stay to let you know how your cat is adjusting and eating. We all know how hard it can be to have to leave your cat and take them out of the comfort of their home. Knowing how well cared for they are with Patty makes doing so much easier. I could not recommend Cat's Pajamas Inn more highly!

We searched the internet and found Top Dog Pet Sitting Service! This company were not only very responsive, including the owner, but they did an outstanding job in reassuring us that our puppy was in great hands! We started by making an account and profile on Chloe and it was so easy and user friendly! We then chose our time of day we wanted them to come and our preferences of how many times and how long we wanted the pet sitter to stay. When everything was booked, we met Cassandra and Alisha and Chloe loved them RIGHT away! That was something my husband and I really liked, is that the sitters who would be watching her, met her prior to us going away. All of this happened in a span of 2 weeks since our original plans of who would watch Chloe fell through. During the trip, Cassandra and Alisha were AMAZING! We received email updates with pictures after every bedtime visit (we chose 3 visits a day with just one update but you can customize to however you want!). Those pictures and updates are what got us through the week! It was great because the girls not only cleaned up fuzz and animal pieces from her toys, but also helped clean the containers that had her food in them. During that week, Chloe was on a special diet of chicken and rice as well as medicine and a powder probiotic. the girls did WONDERFUL with managing that entire situation. Jessica, the owner was also beyond amazing for getting back to us so quickly when it was the day before we left for our vacation and she had to be put on all of this medicine and special diet. This company was amazing and we will most definitely be using them again in the future and going to be requesting the same 2 girls since Chloe loved them so much! I cannot recommend this company enough for all of your dog sitting and pet needs!!! :)

I hate to give any Rescue a 1-star review, but in the case of Darbster, it feels like they prioritize speed of placement over the well-being of a pet. I was directly involved in rescuing Toby after he was found abandoned and chained to a tree in Miami. For five months, I ensured he received medical treatment, and spent months caring for him day-to-day, getting to know his personality, behavior, and needs--and loving him. When Toby was initially placed with a family, I believed it would be his forever home. Although I was somewhat reluctant, I supported the placement due to work travel I could not cancel. There was an understanding that if it didn't work out, I would be contacted and given the opportunity to adopt him. Unfortunately, that did not happen. When I learned he had been transferred to Darbster, I reached out within about an hour of him being listed and spoke with a member of the team same day. During that conversation, I offered to cover nightly boarding costs so I could travel and pick him up, and was told they would follow up with next steps. After not hearing back, I followed up within 24 hours confirming I was prepared to make a 24-hour round-trip drive to bring him home. Within three hours of that follow-up, I received an automated email that Toby had been adopted. I did not receive any direct communication or update beforehand and it was not until that evening that I received a brief email confirming the adoption, without explanation. At no point did I receive a follow-up regarding boarding, next steps, or any indication that they'd be showing him to other potential adopters. I had always believed rescues prioritize placing dogs in the most appropriate long-term homes, especially when there is an existing, known relationship. In this case, it felt like speed of placement was prioritized over familiarity and previously formed bonds. The lack of communication and failure to follow through--especially after I had expressed immediate commitment and prior involvement in Toby's care--was incredibly difficult, and the adoption notification with no prior update was heartbreaking. To whoever has adopted Toby: I truly hope you are giving him the loving, stable home he deserves. He is an incredibly special dog. If this message reaches Toby's new owner, I truly hope he is a perfect fit. However, if for any reason it doesn't work out, please reach out to me--I miss him so much.

We made the heartbreaking decision to return a puppy to this shelter after extensive effort,…read moretraining, and veterinary care. Unfortunately, the situation became unstable and unsafe for our existing pets. This decision was not made lightly or impulsively, but with significant grief, honesty, and concern for Medley's long-term wellbeing. ** It is also important to note that even at the time of adoption, Medley's behavior in our home was the complete opposite of how she was described and what we experienced. The calm, easygoing demeanor we were led to expect did not reflect the dog we brought home. The only time her behavior aligned with that initial description was while she was medicated following surgery; once the medication wore off, her true temperament emerged. Labeling her as "full of puppy energy", is an over simplification of her personality. My family has had many puppies and fostered several as well, she has far more energy than a normal puppy. She needs 24/7 surveillance at least in this stage of her life, and nowhere in her description does it even nod to anything like that. ** While the volunteers we interacted with were compassionate and kind, the office staff we dealt with during surrender were dismissive and lacking empathy during an already painful process. When we asked whether we could be notified once she was adopted--purely for peace of mind, as we love her deeply and want her placed safely--we were bluntly told to "check the website," which added unnecessary coldness to an emotional moment. What prompted this review was seeing Medley's adoption profile reposted using her original description, despite detailed, first-hand information being provided at surrender. I emailed them a 2 page document including all of the training styles used, her favorite stuff, her behaviors and needs, and it clearly was just ignored. We even called addressing the inaccuracy of her profile, and was told they'd talk to a manager and fix it... days later the profile says its current with no changes. We spent well over a thousand dollars between adoption fees, products, and veterinary care while essentially fostering her for only 2 months. (In which we spent hours every day training her, trying to tire her out, and keeping her engaged. In the beginning she was fine with our dog, then in the end we had to keep them separated at all times after she hurt my dog and cat) Then had to pay $150 to return her, which I know they'll say was in the contract, fine... but charging people and treating them like that, and then treating the dog they care about like a product is confusing. We made it VERY clear that she cannot be safely housed with cats or timid dogs, yet she is currently listed as "wonderful with dogs, cats, and children." This is not accurate. She has never been exposed to young children, has injured our timid older dog, and has a strong prey drive. Presenting her as universally suitable creates a serious risk of unsafe or failed placements. Medley is a good dog--funny, energetic, inquisitive, and outdoorsy--but she is also a higher-needs dog who requires the right environment to succeed.Portraying her as something she is not does a disservice to potential adopters and, more importantly, to Medley herself. We tried our absolute best to find her the correct home, hence why we brought her back to her original adoption location, and gave them all of the detailed information we did. Now reflecting, I wish we hadn't returned her here because we are so unsure about her future, and have no control over the situation. Beyond heartbroken over the way this matter was handled. Honest, transparent profiles matter. Especially for dogs with specific needs, accuracy can mean the difference between a stable forever home and repeated rehoming. I sincerely hope this shelter reflects on how surrendering families are treated and how dogs are represented going forward, because both deserve better. I will be including the documents I sent them, followed by their description.

As someone who once worked at a boarding facility, I keep realistic expectations about how much special attention my dogs are going to get. It is very demanding physical work, especially when they are at capacity. If my dog was seriously incapacitated or needed life-saving meds, I would find a different facility that caters to that. We had Max in their daycare program, which he loved, but after a few visits, he was asked not to come back because he was "leaning" on the staff. He's 150-lbs, and leaning is his love language. The woman at the front desk at pickup (who I believe was the owner) was rude, barely spoke to me other than taking my credit card, and had no reasonable explanation for how my dog got injured - while she stated my older dog nipped at her, the vet told us that it was not consistent with a bite wound after he examined her. My dogs came home smelling so horrible and were so dirty that we had to bathe them before we could give them the cuddles that they clearly had been lacking for their entire stay. Sendaishi's website says they give dogs love and affection during their stay, but ours couldn't stop shaking and clinging to us when we got them back. They also drank what had to be a gallon of water each as soon as we got them into the house. Luckily, we have pet insurance to cover most of the cost of the urgent vet trip, her pain medication, and antibiotics and she's starting to put weight on her injured leg after a few days. Save yourself the trouble, cost, and heartbreak and don't bring your loved fur babies here.

She was with us during the loss of our beloved Ronin this past June 2019 when he passed of lymphoma. She came by on his last day to say goodbye and then made him a beautiful shadow box with all of the photos she had taken of him over the years. We all cried together and she truly does think of your dogs like one of her own. When we are away of course we miss the dogs but we never once worry or wonder how they are when Holly is caring for them. She knows their routines, their personalities, lets us know if they are off, or if they are okay, or sad, or miss us. The boys absolutely lose their mind (in a good way) when she comes to see them which makes us feel so good. I have absolutely no idea as to these "rude" comments from the other poster.
