I had a very positive experience working at Milestone Academy of Texas. One of the things I…read moreappreciated most was how clean, organized, and well-prepared the environment was for the children. Everything followed a schedule, and each classroom had its own lesson plans and daily activities. Milestone was not just a place for daily childcare. Children were given opportunities to learn and develop through age-appropriate activities and lessons based on their developmental needs. The teachers and staff were kind, patient, and attentive in their interactions with the children. They treated each child with warmth and respect, responded thoughtfully to their individual needs, and genuinely cared about their well-being. They worked hard to provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment where children felt comfortable and supported.

I wish I could give this daycare less than one star. As the parent of an infant, I trusted this…read morefacility to provide safe, attentive care and follow the feeding and care instructions I provided. Unfortunately, my experience left me with serious concerns about feeding, supervision, communication, documentation, management, and ultimately my child's safety. I repeatedly communicated that formula was my baby's primary source of nutrition and provided specific instructions for bottles approximately every 3 1/2-4 hours. There were instances when these instructions were not followed as expected, including a day when there was approximately a 5-hour gap between formula feedings. I also became concerned that purées were being given in place of regularly scheduled formula. Eventually, I asked the daycare to stop providing purées altogether because I wanted to ensure my baby received his formula while in their care. Documentation through Procare was another ongoing concern. Entries were sometimes incomplete or unclear, and I repeatedly requested that the actual ounces consumed be documented. When caring for an infant who cannot tell a parent what happened during the day, accurate feeding and care records are extremely important. Communication at pickup was also difficult. The teacher I normally needed to speak with left around 3:00 p.m., and there was a significant language barrier between me and the assistant who was often present later in the day. As a result, I sometimes could not get clear answers about my baby's day directly from the caregiver present. I also personally witnessed situations in the infant room that concerned me. I observed babies crying without staff immediately responding, and on another occasion I observed an assistant focused on another task with her back turned to the babies. These observations made me question the level of attentiveness and supervision being provided. I repeatedly brought concerns to the director. In my experience, I often received pleasant and reassuring responses during our conversations, but I did not see the consistent follow-through or meaningful changes I expected afterward. Eventually, repeated reassurances were no longer enough for me. When concerns involve an infant's feeding, supervision, or safety, follow-through and accountability matter. Most concerning, my baby came home with an unexplained mark/scar on his arm. This occurred after I had already raised multiple concerns regarding his care. Finding an unexplained injury on my infant significantly affected my trust in the facility and ultimately contributed to my decision that I could no longer feel confident leaving him in their care. I also had concerns about developmentally appropriate care, including adequate floor/tummy time and positioning rather than excessive time in restrictive equipment. I felt I had to repeatedly advocate for care instructions that should have been straightforward. Based solely on my family's experience and what I personally observed, I cannot recommend this daycare for infant care. Parents should not have to repeatedly advocate for appropriate feeding, accurate documentation, responsive care, adequate supervision, clear communication, management follow-through, and their child's physical safety. When caring for babies who cannot speak for themselves, those things should be non-negotiable.

We took them out until we could figure out what was going on. When we were ready to have them go back our spots had been filled. I did a search of the area and stumbled upon Happy Tree. Ms. Danielle was extremely responsive and we had a brief phone call before we toured the school. During the phone call with Ms. Danielle it just felt right. When we toured, I knew it was right. When they were enrolled, they had just turned two and within weeks I could see a huge difference in their growth and development. They are now 4.5 and came home one day and recited all the presidents! They are writing and spelling their names, adding and subtracting and much, much more. It's extremely bittersweet that they are moving on and we will very much miss Happy Tree and all they've done to prepare them for their future education.

He became so comfortable with the teachers in his class that he would specifically look for them when he walked in the building. They are so loving and caring. I had some apprehension because my son has a hearing aide that needs to be removed for naps and water activities. It is also extremely difficult to get him to keep it in and for other students not to yank at it. They took the time to learn how to place and remove the device and also helped him keep up with it. As he moved up in classes, he became just as fond of the new teachers as the old and they encouraged some independent learning. They also got him to eat vegetables almost everyday which is impossible at home. We wouldn't have believed it if we didn't see it with our own eyes. Another great thing about the facility is you can pop in on your child any day or any time. They have an open door policy for parents and it makes you feel at ease when they are willing to be so open. We moved and had to change child care. It was a difficult decision to make because our son enjoyed his classmates and teachers so much.

My little ones went to KALE for a few months. The turnover was high (yes, everyone is dealing with…read morestress and pressure during COVID) and the communication was inadequate. I interviewed lots of child care centers prior to settling with KALE. The director I met a month before was not the same when my kids started. When they got a new teacher for my kid's class, they did not inform the parents. Luckily, I paid additional ($40/month) for the cameras so I questioned my kiddo about the new teacher. Other parents had no idea for at least a month. There were 22 kids crammed into a room with one teacher and a floating teacher sometimes. As for the cameras, they did not charge monthly. They deducted the total from the refundable deposit. With the constant changes, organization is not a priority. I asked the director two weeks prior to Christmas what the plan was and she said she is just thinking about the next day. Yikes! One of my kiddos was not acclimating well to the new environment and she couldn't get any attention from the teacher since the teacher was wrangling almost 20 kids. My kid was usually alone and I didn't see the teacher trying to engage or encourage her to join the rest of the class. I pick up my little one at the same time every day right before nap time. Sometimes, they would have the kids wait by the door for over 30 minutes in the dark. Speaking of doors, they do not have conventional closed doors. All doors are short so you can hear everything going on in other classes. Onto the neutral/plus side, the school had some potential. The meals were on par with other places, the curriculum was admirably challenging, and they tried to set up events on Sundays but they were usually low turnouts. I wish the school all the best but I can't recommend it to my fellow parent friends and their kids.

The owner kept boasting of the Frog Street curriculum. The owner was condescending in his remarks…read moretowards me, but I am simply underwhelmed by this curriculum and its inability to afford his "team" the material or guidance necessary to adjust to our children's learning and development needs. While my background is admittedly very limited in this subject matter, I would be more inclined towards the Creative Curriculum (like our daughter's previous school) or HighScope. I also provided a critical review on another forum, and I was met with retaliation from the owner, demanding over a phone call to me that the post be removed. I was simply sharing my expectations, and how the academic standards fell far short of how our children were developing. The owner proceeded to publicly divulge private, personal matters in his response, and even sided with and made concerted efforts with the mother in an effort to diminish me, and dismissing my valid concerns. We had an in-person appointment on Friday at the school to discuss further, which I have now cancelled, because of this public demonstration of retribution from the owner himself. Is this the kind of place you want to entrust your child's development? The unprofessional manner in which the owner, the director, and the teachers all combined their efforts in order to denigrate me, especially on a public forum, is very concerning: a company was unable to handle criticism, and in turn, publicly shamed me as a parent.

This is an update to my original review as of 5/16/2024…read more Miss Bloomingdale's continues to be such a great school for our youngest daughter. She is now 5, and in the Pre-K/Kindergarten program, and just loves all her teachers there. Miss Chere is clearly one of her favorites. And even though she is not in Miss Chere's class anymore, she always wants to make sure I take her to Miss Chere's classroom so she can say hi to her and give her a hug. But all the teachers continue to be great. And Miss Bloomingdale's as an institution is really an excellent value. For the combination of care, education and tuition rates...they are well worth it. And it's evident that they do the best they can to keep their tuition rates as reasonable as possible while still being able to provide a quality education and stay in business in this highly competitive environment. This is a locally-owned, family-run business that I'm proud to support, and I genuinely feel they have been overall a better fit for our family than other daycares/schools in the area that are most likely cookie cutter franchises -- and more expensive.

Ms. Lin, the director is honestly an angel and you can tell she puts all her heart and soul into her job and these kids. We are forever grateful that our kids were able to come here because they feel like family. It's just like dropping them off with their grandparents (which we were doing before they were old enough) except they get to learn so much. Yes language (Chinese and English) but also structure. My daughter was all over the place when she first started but now she's learned to be better about cleaning up after herself and when it's time to play versus time to learn. It's still a learning process for her but we can already see the vast improvement in just a few months. My son already graduated and is now in first grade but he stayed at Tzu Chi for 3 years and loved it. The hours are amazing for working parents. They have two time options so there is flexibility. They take pictures of your kid and post it in an app so you get to see a bit of what they're doing for the day. It's not every day but a good percent of the time. The kids get fed and the food(included with tuition) is delicious and nutritious. It is vegetarian food but they make such good vegetarian food that even my kids love it. Many of the kids after graduating still talk about how they miss the food at Tzu Chi and that their moms just don't make it quite the same. We go to their occasional fundraising events to specifically buy their vegetarian food because it's hard to find elsewhere. All that to say, don't let the vegetarian food deter you if you're wondering if your kids will get enough nutrients. My kids have grown up very tall and healthy eating it along with so many other kids. There are a few events throughout the year where you get to visit and partake in celebrations with your kids. It's so wholesome and they put so much effort into getting the kids ready. Sometimes I joke that I should have more kids just so I can send them all here. All jokes aside though, I would highly recommend Tzu Chi. Even if you don't speak mandarin at home, it is a wonderful environment for your kids to be in.

Look, I'm naturally suspicious of places that have only five star reviews, because how could a…read moreplace seriously be that good? Except in this case, it's actually correct. Our family has sent two children to Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool. Our eldest just graduated from the program this year, and our youngest daughter has just started. We initially appreciated how affordable Tzu Chi was compared with many of the other preschool programs that we considered, particularly given the hours covered and the fact that lunch is included. However, the most important part of the program has been the character education. The change in our son over his time at Tzu Chi has been remarkable. When he first started, he was much more likely to ask, or sometimes demand, that things be done for him. Now he regularly asks us, "How can I help?" He looks for ways to contribute and thinks about what other people might need. He has also developed a real concern for the wider world. When he hears about a natural disaster, for example, he asks what happened and what we can do to help the people affected. Of course, children grow enormously during the preschool years, and no school deserves all the credit for who a child becomes. But I honestly do not think this transformation would have happened to the same degree without Tzu Chi's consistent emphasis on kindness, gratitude, respect, responsibility, and helping others. For us, that has been more valuable than anything that could appear on an academic checklist. Our son left Tzu Chi as a kinder, more thoughtful, and more helpful person. We are immensely grateful to his teachers, and we had no hesitation about entrusting our daughter to the same school. We recommend Tzu Chi Great Love very highly to families looking for an affordable and nurturing preschool that takes character development seriously.
