These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

That was definitely not me in high school - and I went to a great private Catholic high school. I love that they now have different levels of the IB program to fit each student's goals. The school continues to grow and expand - yet maintain what we love about a caring, smaller community. Yesterday a school in Allen accidentally called me saying that they had my son's phone but could not give me the child's name because there are almost 2k 9th graders, and she did not know. I can't imagine being somewhere that the office staff did not know my kid's name. Everyone at the Westwood School knows my student - and what would best serve him academically and emotionally - as they know what is "normal" or not normal in his every day interactions. I never worry about him during the day as I know he has the most caring community teaching, guiding, supporting, and looking out for him. We can't wait for the beautiful new campus. The tour last week just blew me away as to how amazing it will be for the kids - and I can't wait for our new gym! The teachers are phenomenal and like college level educators! There aren't enough stars for how much this school has made our son confident, caring, and ready for anything life hands him. I don't worry about his future. He believes he can do anything he wants to do in life - and I love everything about this school. There is nothing like it when I talk to all of my other parent friends around the nation - and I am so blessed we found it when he was small.

His experience has been what I had always wanted for him. A place where kids are encouraged to be their personal best - a place where they are encouraged to discover the answer rather than regurgitate it. Pam Butler - the founder - was inspired to start the school based on Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a dream" speech. It was her dream to have a school foundation based on the content of one's character in a supportive community with personal excellence as the goal. This school has empowered our son to be a confident and independent learner who feels like he can do anything. I highly recommend checking out Westwood for your family, as it is the best kept secret in Dallas.

My grandchildren are happier than they were at a different Christian school and are excelling here at POPCS. Looking forward to many more years to enjoy this institution as the girls grow up.

The high academic standards and expectations are a big reason why we are satisfied but also the loving, welcoming and inviting community of students and families. Also, this is the only private christian school in north texas to offer something like the Eagle Success center that can really provide academic programs suited for true gifted and talented children (not just academically advanced) as well as programs for learning differences. And the Smart labs are second to none. Check it out - you won't regret it!

My daughter suffered emotional abuse from her teachers, coming home frequently scared to go to school because her teachers yell, hold her wrists in a forceful manner when she makes mistakes. Because they are not certified or given adequate training (only every three months according to director with non accredited trainers) "teachers" are not skilled or knowledgeable in teaching practices that are developmentally appropriate and in alignment with Texas standards. They are unaware on how to utilize redirection, positive reinforcement and engagement tools and resources that support the whole child. As a certified experienced educator and multilingual program director myself I am distraught I let my child go to this daycare for over a year and advise other to stay away from an institution that does not have the abilities to teach young children. There are other multicultural and multilingual accredited schools in the area if looking for that type of care. Lastly, The entire Spanish schoolhouse board of directors does not have a single verified educator at the table speaking for quality education and what that actually means- their CEO is a graphic designer and many on the board are business and operations minded sources of knowledge. Steer clear of Spanish schoolhouse!

On my 3 years olds first week he came home with a huge knot on his head. That mommy didn't notice until bath time. When I asked what happened he said he fell out of his chair and cried. When asked if he told his teacher he said yes. And she didn't do much. Just asked if he was ok. This knot was huge and had a scar! When I showed the owner that following school day she said she would look into it. Never got back to me . The playground is a joke. Nuts and bolts from old useless playground equipment are constantly being found by children ages 3 -5. They still have wood chips that the children eat and throw at their peers. (Very unsafe) During a dance recital there was a huge leak from the ceiling that could have injured a child. From old plumbing and pipes. This center hasn't been updated in 25 years. The gates on the playground are broken and anyone can come in from off the streets At their own leisure. They only tried to fix the fences when licensing came to evaluate!!! That says a lot about how much they really care about the safety of the children. When we would take the children outside... we would have to pass by a wasp nest that was very frightening to staff and he children. It took them 2 weeks to get rid of the problem!!!! To even acknowledge the desperate need to remove it. The curriculum is never used. And the kitchen is extremely disgusting!!!!!! Being a former employee and parent and I will never bring my children back to this dump ever again. I'm shocked they are still have open doors!!! This place is a joke !!!!!! All they want Is your money.... The owner was quick to tell me she took a trip to Dubai... but the center looks like a hell hole... that was proof to me that they cared only about the almighty dollar and not the education of children. Sad.

Always check whatever they are trying to bill you. *If you have or know people here, do everyone a favor and take them somewhere else. * Do NOT BELIEVE OTHER FAKE REVIEWS, If it's someone who's left only 1 or 2 reviews with 5 stars, fake. Zarha is the Owner, and avoids dealing with you by hiding behind other employees. We talked about bringing our daughter back after our time away, but all that notion went away when she decided to ghost me when I inquired about moving some of my days from the 1 week paid when my daughter was getting sick and only attended 2&1/2 days out of the 5. Not even a courtesy. So then forget it i'll eat those costs[mind you this is after pay this school since last year and paying for that extra week before leaving], our daughter was feeling some what okay by friday, so she went in, and we agreed to finish our time by tuesday, but we agreed on a weekly rate, which she did not honor for our last 2 days. SO fed up with sleazy people like this, it's these little things that really pisses you off. This type of bold robbery reflects a good chance this isn't the first time doing this. 1. Refuses to return deposit after given 30 day notice as stated on their policy, I told them I have some military training coming up. 2. They ghosted me on emails and calls when asking about deposit. 3. They wanted to charge me for bring our child on time to class. In their guideline the wrote, drop of is 8:20-8:30 it also said to bring your kids to school on time. I HAD TO HIGHLIGHT IT IN HER OWN HANDBOOK TO SHOW HER, she wanted to pinch more money out of us. one of them even says 8:27, school starts at 8:30 she wanted to bill us for bring her "EARLY". Why did she not tell you all this but wait till 2 months later to bill you? Yeah, we can all imagine her motives. 9/15 for a drop off at 7:17, yeah right, my daughter wasn't even awake then. I'd like to see this fake made up number show up on video. 9/23 wanted to charge us 10x her usual "Early fee". Good thing my wife asked for a breakdown. 1 mistake I can understand maybe even 2, but seriously this is Criminal, I've seem more honest inmates working for the sheriff county Jail than this. Want to train your family to be on on time and honest? Stay far away from here. I've contacted the Texas Attorney General & BBB, stealing from children are the worst kind of people.

CONSTANT FRUSTRATION, LACK OF CONCERN, AND HOSTILITY…read more My son has been attending for only 5 months. It's been a difficult experience, which started immediately after we enrolled. Our son is no longer attending, and we never enrolled our younger son. Recently relocated, we did not want to further disturb our son's schooling by moving again. We tried to make the best of the situation, however, we were met with constant frustration, lack of concern, and hostility. There was constant frustration due to the admin's inability to provide accurate information, and having difficulty remembering important conversations. For example, we were told class cameras would be set up during our tour to watch our son on occasion. After 4 months of asking I finally PRESSED and was told "we never said we'd fix the camera." My husband goes in, and miraculously the cameras are fixed the next day. I was told lunch was healthy, at the very least no canned food, and like any Montessori school, no candy/sweets (they give as a snack many days). I asked for a picture of the food to ensure all was well, after asking for a very long time, pictures clearly show canned food. I asked the admin to highlight meals that will have canned food to pack those days (she said no canned food at first, then said some...). She hands back every meal highlighted. Just seems like more care could be given. The lack of care was further shown when our son was hit/scratched by another student (other student's fault). First, they verbally told me an inaccurate account of what happened (my son explained). The teacher did not even know what day it happened. Because of that, I had to ask for an incident report (you should always have one when your child is injured). I got back a few words in the report, so I asked for a more detailed report (to handle any future issues). The request was met with almost physical hostility when I simply asked to review the final report one last time. Needless to say, it was the final straw. In the least, I certainly recommend asking very detailed questions and documenting all communications.
