These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I have volunteered when they take the kids to the North Texas Food Bank each year so I've seen how they deal with the kids in and out of the facility. This is by far the best run, cleanest and friendly daycare we have used. We lived near downtown before moving north and had a good experience with our previous daycare but Primrose is so much more advanced in their curriculum and have many more activities than our older daughter ever experienced at her previous daycare.

I had some apprehension because my son has a hearing aide that needs to be removed for naps and water activities. It is also extremely difficult to get him to keep it in and for other students not to yank at it. They took the time to learn how to place and remove the device and also helped him keep up with it. As he moved up in classes, he became just as fond of the new teachers as the old and they encouraged some independent learning. They also got him to eat vegetables almost everyday which is impossible at home. We wouldn't have believed it if we didn't see it with our own eyes. Another great thing about the facility is you can pop in on your child any day or any time. They have an open door policy for parents and it makes you feel at ease when they are willing to be so open. We moved and had to change child care. It was a difficult decision to make because our son enjoyed his classmates and teachers so much.

Whatever conversation may have taken place clearly did not result in any noticeable change in the way I was treated. We only returned once after that and then stopped going for quite some time. This week, I decided to give the location another chance because I was in a bind. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, my daughter immediately said, "Oh no, not this place. I don't want to be here. They're mean." I went inside with her and asked if I could stay for a few minutes to help her feel comfortable. They allowed me to do so, and eventually she began playing and warming up. What really stood out to me, however, was that the staff could clearly see that she was hesitant and having a difficult time staying, yet not one person approached her, tried to engage her, reassured her, or made any effort to help her feel welcome. After observing that, I decided I was not comfortable leaving her there. When I said we were going to leave, the interaction I received from staff only reinforced my decision. I'm actually thankful I went inside this time because I was also able to see the condition of the facility for myself. It appeared dirty and very run down. The toys and play areas did not look well maintained or clean, which was especially disappointing for a childcare facility. The same staff member I had dealt with during our previous incident was also there, and unfortunately, I experienced the same dismissive and unwelcoming demeanor. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had already prepaid for one of their highest-tier packages, which was several hundred dollars. Since my daughter clearly does not feel comfortable returning, I asked whether the unused portion could be refunded and was told no. At this point, I would rather lose the several hundred dollars I already paid than leave my daughter somewhere she is telling me she does not feel comfortable or safe. That should say everything. I was in enough of a bind that day that this type of drop-in childcare should have been incredibly helpful. Instead, I chose to take my daughter to work with me rather than leave her there. I will not be returning to this location with my daughter, and based on our experiences, I cannot recommend it to other parents.

She still charged us deposits for three weeks, regardless of texts and phone calls stating that we would let her know a week at a time and that we would not be going for three weeks.
