I can't say enough good things about this salon. I called this morning & the receptionist was kind,…read morepatient and guided me towards two stylists that she thought would work well for not only the service & look I wanted - but within my budget. She was able to book me a session this afternoon. I am beyond perfectionistic & I had a very bad experience at my prior salon leaving me REALLY nervous to have another stylist color my hair. Bobbie is a dream. She welcomed me right away & had a long, VERY professional conversation about where my hair was at & where I wanted it to be. She was honest, kind, caring & most importantly- made me trust her expertise & eye. I'm SO happy I did! She worked on me for 3 hours & even gave me tips on how to style my naturally curly hair, guided me towards the right products to use at home and repeatedly let me know that it's okay to ASK QUESTIONS & let her know if I had any concerns or wasn't happy with the way my hair was looking. That wasn't an issue because Bobbie did an impeccable job on my blonde balayage. She was able to blend my ends seamlessly into the partial balayage, add definition and was SUPER sweet, calm and welcoming throughout the whole service. The salon itself is beautiful, stylish and NOT PRETENTIOUS. I felt so at ease. I've worked in the salon/spa field for many years and Bobbie thoroughly impressed me. She won me over! GO TO THIS SALON YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!

I was not expecting much because you would be crazy to have high expectations for a Groupon haircut. The cut and color were so awesome that I resolved that day that Julia would be my one and only hairdresser from now on. Mind you, I am 40 years old and no hairdresser has ever inspired me to say that. I have had a great many haircuts in my life and I always feel that I could do better with someone else the next time. I have gone to a few hairdressers more than once, but I have never been blown away- even by people who have amazing reputations and cost a ridiculous amount of money. The location of Salon 1100 is not hard to find. It's in a little strip mall off of South Avenue in Westfield. The salon is in the middle and up a flight of stairs so it's entrance is not one of the main stores. It's upstairs so you can see it from the parking lot if you look up, but it is not readily apparent when you drive into the parking lot. I did not see it when I got there the first time but I am not the most observant person in the world. The salon is very clean and well decorated with a very modern feel. Everything looks very up to date. They have products there, but not too many, and a bunch of pocketbooks and stuff, but no one gives you the hard sell on them. Julia was very responsive to what I told her- which was not a lot to go on- and she really had an intuitive grasp of what I wanted and what style would make my hair look the best. I returned yesterday to get my hair cut again. I held off on the color since it will be summer and it won't last. Again, Julia did a great job on my hair. While she was blowing it out I noticed that I wanted it to be shorter and she took the time to do that even though it took a while. She also styled it in a way that I thought was interesting, twisting little sections and drying them with heat and not air so that it would be wavy. I appreciated her taking the time to show me the technique. This girl knows her stuff and she has integrity about the work she does. She has a clear standard of what she believes is a good haircut and she wants her work to be appreciated by her clients and others long after you leave the salon. A stylist who is that dedicated to being awesome at their job and not jadedly expecting to have you fork over cash for the same thing over and over again is rare. Even more impressive is that Julia is barely 20 years old. She has that enthusiasm and spark that really bodes well for her career. Also impressive - I only met Julia once and she remembered so much about me and what we had talked about the last time she did my hair. I really appreciated that she did not pressure me to buy any products, and she did not try to sell me that I had to come back in a really short amount of time, either. I did not feel over sold. One last thing, both times I saw Julia, her own hair looked great even though it looked really different both times. She is a very attractive and well put together young lady so that bodes well for how good she can make you look, too. Go to Salon 1100, ask for Julia and tell her I sent you because I want her to know how much I appreciate her work. You won't be disappointed.
