With columns blocking the view + overcrowded space, getting a decent spot can feel competitive, which is a space issue that contributes to increasing tension between members. Lately, some of the messaging around space feels like it's putting the burden on clients, which can come off as frustrating or unintentionally shaming. I get that it's a tough room to manage--but there are better ways to handle it. The minute a business starts treating its clientele as gnats or 'entitled problems', is the moment that the heart of the business begins to weaken. Simple fixes like rotating rows each song, clearer spacing markers on the floor, or more instructor movement (use all mirrors!) could make a big difference. Even having a place up front just for newbies could be a positive way to address this vs making clients feel blamed for environmental and system barriers. There's still a lot to love here--I just hope the studio can hold onto the supportive, growth-oriented culture it's known for.

All age levels and dance experience levels. They have a cubby area for your belongings. Check in the office in the back before class. I loved how he broke the movements for the beginners like me. He gave the class great energy. It was the vibe throughout!!! The Kpop group was 7-8 and it went by so fast! Come early enough so you can find parking, it's all street parking. And especially if you want a good spot on the floor. Definitely a good time for yourself or with a friend. Especially if you love Kpop like me.

We decided to check out this dance studio since we saw they were teaching a Kpop class. Luckily…read morethey were teaching 2.0 by BTS and we were excited. This was our first time at the studio. There's plenty of parking, and the studio is on the smaller side, but nice (there's two dance rooms--one larger one and one smaller one). Since the Kpop class was so popular, there were a lot of people, but we were in the smaller room, since it sounded like there was another group training for some sort of performance. Once they left, we switched over to the larger room. Isabel teaches the Kpop classes and she was so friendly and encouraging. She was patient and great at breaking down the dance moves, while moving the class at an appropriate pace. It is a 1.5 hour class, so we finished all the moves with 15 minutes to break into dance groups (not exactly my favorite part, because my brain can't usually learn all the moves in the same class). Of note, they do record the group dances, but you can probably sit out if you want (I just stick around because of peer pressure and low key want to remember how I looked from when I started until mastering the dance). It's also nice that she will be kinda doing the dance on the side to guide you. There's no level listed on the class, so I'm assuming it's all levels. Based on being at other dance studios, I think 2.0 was more of an intermediate level class, but it was very doable! Overall, I really enjoyed my class with Isabel!

I've been to other dance classes where the instructor wasn't as intentional and had more of a serious and closed off, "get all the moves right" energy, which can be off putting when you're just joining a casual dance class, so this was refreshing! The class was Heels & Grooves and I would say it's beginner friendly! We started with stretching, then practicing walking, then learned the choreo. It was a fun class! Lots of parking available in the plaza. The space was open, bright, and clean. My GPS told me to go to the left when really they were located on the other side. It seems like they have a diverse range of class offerings. I'll def be coming back!

I've always felt at least a little self conscious when exercising - at the gym, in the street, in group classes - but going here was the first time I was fully immersed in the dance and didn't feel the slightest bit concerned about how I looked, how my dancing was, or how I compared to the other students. We were at LGNDS for years, shortly after you opened and participated in every event and…read morevolunteered in between- with nothing to show for it. What do I mean? Not even a luncheon for your students and adult family who put countless time, energy, and efforts into the kids based upon your constant, random, and last minute change of schedule- getting to and from events, purchasing extra outfits that the kids do not like with no parental input, telling a parent they can't use the restroom after rehearsals were done at PVH a public building, excluding brown and black students and parents, including some of your instructors who left. No bday or graduation celebrations, nothing fronted by you. You hand picked friends and family behind closed doors to help with events, giving them the top notch spots and hours, and "opened" the option for volunteers afterwards. Facts: I volunteered twice right after the BAND went through and it was magically filled. You allowed students to be physically and verbally bullied, even after it being brought to your attention. You pushed for "ADA" to get in line first for events, when it was only YOUR elder Filipino family and friends. There's no "ADA" (your verbiage) for spectators. With the exception of Hercules community events, and maybe Kids Fest, you volunteered us for all Filipino based venues- St. Pat's and St. Joe's. Your students asked $25 for school event sponsorship and you declined, stating you're invested in other partnerships and couldn't afford it or go outside of that partnership. You brag about trips to Greece, Paris, regular trips to LA and Vegas, while drippin in LV and other name brand items- but keep raising our tuition and uniform and event prices. We're paying for YOUR lifestyle and being taken advantage of. You almost never had anyone answering the phones or at the front desk to help us with questions, concerns, but called us out in front of families when we owed tuition or you needed something. You had and have some invested leaders and instructors, who were afraid to stand up for what is right for fear of retaliation- their words. You cannot have 1 instructor for 25 kids, there's nothing productive about that, even though this was recently changed a few times in the last 10 months or so. By the way, you're not a licensed daycare and don't have all CPR or First Aid certified staff or defibrillators, so why do you allow adults to leave why their kids are in the studio and the 1-2 instructors are untrained and outnumbered?! You took away confidence and camaraderie, knowingly excluded people, snatched pride in being ourselves as you pushed for your own, maybe, implicit bias. We had a blast many times, it was from the classmates and supportive adults. It was a very difficult decision, but we had to maintain and heal our mental wellness and leave...Connor, don't be afraid to speak up, it's YOUR name, YOUR vision, grab a hold of it and don't let go! We miss you.

You can see high quality shows at a very affordable price. The youth productions are particularly great for young kids. When our kid was young, we took them to see shows at BPH. They were great shows but also at the price point, if my 4 year old couldn't sit still and we had to leave the show, I would not cry over the ticket price. Our kid did summer camps at BPH every year and they are now part of the youth production. BPH has become their second home. The staff are deeply caring and supportive. Kids are incredibly kind, passionate about musical theater, and supportive of each other. It is a wonderful community where our quirky theater kid found their tribe and has a sense of belonging. Being different is celebrated at BPH. I highly recommend their camps and youth programs to kids who enjoy performing on stage.
