Due to the pandemic, 2020 auditions for 4th grade prospects were canceled. They sent out notices for video auditions for 2021. Fine, we made the video audition and crossed our fingers. Keep in mind that now it would be for 5th grade. A month after submission we got a call that they liked the video and she got an in-person callback. Now im thinking, this is good, after the callback we will know. Also, there were only 10 students called back (mind you later I realized that they actually held these individual callbacks daily/weekly all Spring long!) I felt confident for my daughter, her dance instructors were confident too. After the callback audition they didn't let anyone know right away, they actually let us know that she didn't get in more than a month later! Im not mad that she didn't get in, im angry that they literally made this process from start to finish, over 3 months. Because of this, we missed all the summer intensives deadlines (if she got in, she had to do their summer program). My theory is that in order for them to justify their paychecks during virtual learning, they had to create all these auditions/callbacks to seem busy since they get paid differently than DOE. They had no spots, and definitely not enough for all those hopeful students. Their 4th grade class from last year already had filled that class. Not cool to feed on the hopes and dreams of young dancers.

At it's peak, there were 150+ fellow viewers. I loved every moment... the wonderful instructor was extremely calming, motivating, down to earth and genuinely positive. I wish I could make him the voice of my alarm clock each morning. Thank you again for hosting this. I've done a few guided meditation sessions before and this one was amongst the most well run. In fact, I almost forgot that this was being done over Zoom... it felt like the class was literally happening within my living room. At times like these, it was such an honor to be surrounded (even if virtually) by hundreds of like-minded and positive individuals. That group dance sess at the end was the icing on the cake!

I emailed them right after delivery about this and received no response, but on their website they updated the photo after my email. I called them and said I wanted the old barrel if you can check stock and if not available call me and set up a return. They falsely advertised the incorrect product, and blamed me for this. They deducted $9 for a cleaning fee of a barrel that was never used, and again the incorrect item. The people working the phones are morons and scammers. I utilized this place for years and referring my students to purchase equipment and instruments since 2015. And buying reeds while on broadway tours. That all ends NOW Take your business elsewhere. But, for me, there's nothing better than live music at a wedding. And, for my money, there's not a better live band than Mixtape. I'm in a band, so I'm super picky when it comes to other bands....especially for my own wedding. I was excited by how many different styles of music they could play. I knew that the parents/aunts/uncles would enjoy the older stuff that they could play, and that my friends would appreciate the current music they offer too. My expectations were already high.....and they consistently exceeded those expectations. Melanie was so helpful from the very beginning. They handled our requests beautifully. There really aren't enough superlatives to express how great they really were. We got so many unsolicited comments on how good the music was too. People were really digging it.
