I am very conscious of the prices for everything when I shop in these stores, but I can almost always find something. On this particular visit, I didn't make a purchase, but as usual, they had quite a few food items that I can find at other locations and I keep in mind for when they need arises. I've been really considering a new vacuum cleaner, and I have found some really good deals on them here but my only issue is that every one of them does wet and dry and they are all remanufactured products. That doesn't mean anything is wrong with them, but I am looking for just a regular dry vacuum cleaner. Either way I have to save up the money to get one. I have found quite a few kitchen items that I would find useful, but I just don't have room for at the moment. I always check their book section and quite frequently. I find something worth reading. Like the other locations I have been to. I received a greeting when I came through the front door and multiple employees were pleasant to me and offered assistance as I was shopping. As they have an ever-changing in inventory they are definitely worth checking out on a regular basis.

A Walk Through IKEA: A Test of Stamina, Direction, and Job Flexibility…read more January 10, 2026 My first serious trip to IKEA made me realize that this is not just a furniture store. It's a carefully designed one-way journey. The layout is extremely thoughtful--so thoughtful that it's almost impossible to visit just one section. Whether you're there to buy a single mug or simply "have a look," you will be guided through the entire store. I managed to do even better than that. I got lost. Not only did I get lost, I walked part of it twice. The most important detail: I was wearing four-inch stilettos. In IKEA, those are not shoes. They're a personal challenge. After what felt like a full hike, I finally reached the exit and thought I was done. That's when the real test began - checkout. Most stores at least give you options: self-checkout or cashier-assisted checkout. IKEA is very decisive. Self-checkout only. So there I was, scanning items, bagging them myself, slowly realizing I had taken on a new role. The screen even politely asked: "Are you a member?" I couldn't help laughing. I had just become a temporary cashier, without an employee discount, and without a paycheck. And then came the final surprise. At the exit - nothing. At Costco, for example, there's always someone checking receipts. At IKEA, the exit is completely empty. For a moment, you might think this reflects IKEA's deep trust in its customers. Then another thought occurs to you: maybe they also saved the salary of that employee. By the end of this IKEA trip, I had completed: a full-store walk, a detour with repetition, a high-heel endurance test, a self-checkout internship, and a quiet reflection on trust and cost control. Next time, I'll wear flat shoes. As for the salary and staff discount - I won't get my hopes up. I spent $53.69 in total that day. $29.95 went to pear-flavored sparkling water. Which means over half of my IKEA budget was... hydration. IKEA: where your legs get a workout, your patience is tested, and your self-checkout skills improve... all in one visit. I guess I overestimated my ability to wear high heels. I may have slightly overestimated my high-heel endurance. In hindsight, I clearly overestimated my ability to survive IKEA in high heels. I confidently assumed I could handle high heels at IKEA. I was wrong.

If you're thinking about going, they are celebrating their 7th anniversary with all kinds of deals through MAY 25! The first standout is the customer service. I received help from Blaine (sp?) today. He is knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to. I needed help repotting an orchid. First, I couldn't believe how affordable it was - only $8. Blaine handled my plant with care and explained every step he took, going into detail of why he trimmed certain things, explaining the moss that it needs, and gave me instructions for a watering schedule. He clearly knows his stuff so I also got his advice for my plant purchases as well! I bought 2 cute plants with pots for my patio. Blaine even potted those too. Beyond the service, there was an array of plants and pots in a variety of price points. What also drew me is that there is a diverse collection of popular plants but also rare ones too and they all are grown locally at the BWH Greenhouse in Apopka, FL. The shopping experience is also delightful as there are 2 comfy leather couches to sit - it made the space feel so inviting. I saw several people stop to chat with coffees while I was there. The corner shop seems to have made the most of every square foot. Besides the plant-lined space, and in addition to the cozy couches, there was also a work station for the repotting, and an event room with a large table. Jungle Room by BWH Plant is not only a plant shop, but has community-building experiences too. They offer a variety of reoccurring events and workshops like BINGO, paint your pet, making terrariums... I can't wait to start attending! Location is excellent in The Drive, the main street for shopping and dining in College Park. There is plenty of free street parking in the area around Jungle Room.
