I put in a diagnostic request for my mother in law's 2009 Kia Rondo. She doesn't have much money,…read moreso I was hoping to try and save her some money. I had to have a tow truck it to her address due to it not wanting to start in Park, I found out though that the shifter was very stiff as well and would only move when I used the bypass button. I couldn't get it to start but the tow truck driver showed me that it would start in neutral using the bypass switch and shift into gear but when in park it would still move. So, we didn't want to risk driving it to her house and so we had it towed. The tow truck driver said any mechanic should be able to fix that for you with no problem. So, I called Adkins that evening, and he diagnosed it the next day. He said, he tore the whole console apart, even tested the neutral safety switch but it was seized and couldn't be moved out of neutral. He told me it starts but will not shift. I was told the rod was welded internally within the transmission. I thanked him for his time and effort and he was paid by my mother in law. We'll, then myself and a friend came over and found the shifter was indeed froze in neutral, but after we re-tore the console back apart, and diagnosing it ourself we got it to shift. Took it to a transmission shop, who said this is not a transmission problem at all. We were told to take it to a mechanic and that it's either in the shifter itself or the cable, but definitely nothing to do with the transmission. The mechanic from Adkins confirmed over and over that he's torn many of these apart and he knows his stuff when it comes to vehicles. The question is, then why did he not diagnose the issue correctly and refer me to a transmission shop who then sent me back to a mechanic. I got the shifter out of neutral but he couldn't. He said he tested the neutral safety switch but it didn't look like it had been touched. I'm just saying, I will never trust this company to touch another vehicle of mine. Didn't seem to know as much as he claimed. Did not give a correct diagnosis and still took my mother in laws money. You decide what's right or if you would trust this mechanic.

Highway Garage & Auto Body Center - Highway Building

I had the unfortunate bad luck of hitting a ladder dropped on the highway in my brand new BMW M4…read more Sadly it took a massive chunk out of the bumper forcing me to have it replaced. I instantly knew my car would never look the same again and sadly, started the grueling search of finding somewhere to "fix" my bumper. I searched many places as I am an absolute maniac about my car and wouldn't take anything less than perfect for quality. After several days of phone calls and visits I discovered Highway Garage. Upon reading their reviews I figured I'd give them a shot, even though I live over 45 minutes away. Thus began my experience... Right off the bat from my phone call to schedule an estimate they already seemed different. The lady who answered my call (sorry I've forgotten your name!) spoke to me like I was a friend she personally knew. I didn't feel like just a customer or a pile of money waiting to go into their pocket, I felt like they actually cared about what I needed done. Then, a few days later I came in for my estimate and met Dan who took care of me during the full process. Right away he told me sadly it would be a full bumper replacement as there was no way to repair a large chunk missing. So right then I knew there was no possible way they would ever be able to match the paint from the factory. The color is a flat grey with a slight glitter in it, definitely not a basic color and DEFINITELY not something just anybody could match. But I reluctantly began the process. They were able to get me in within 3 weeks of my initial quote, and even though I didn't need it, have an enterprise rental facility attached to their building which I thought was very convenient. The day I dropped the car off Dan went as far to take me back into the shop, show me around, and even let me see some before and afters in real life. I will be completely transparent here: I actually didn't believe him on a few of them. They looked way too perfect to be real so I actually got quite skeptical at this point. So naturally, the worry set in. I began asking all sorts of questions from "what paint do you use" to "how much experience do you guys really have painting and matching high end cars". All of which I was given very reassuring answers to. So, I left, and crossed my fingers. One week later, I got the call that my car was done and ready for pickup. I, being a very anxious person, already had all sorts of arguments in my head thought up on how I was going to have them fix it again because I figured surely there was 0 chance they would be able to replace and paint my bumper to match the rest of my car to my standard. Then I showed up.. My first thoughts were "that's not actually my car" and "what did you guys do with my real car" because looking at it, I honestly believed they may have mixed up my car with someone else's. (The bmw dealership is right down the road from them, so in my head this was actually very possible). Not only did my car look as if it was a brand new car on the lot, they actually without my request, had detailed the full exterior and interior to look like new. All sorts of dirt and grime I had dropped it off with were gone and it was about as shiny as can possibly be. So naturally, I had to begin my inspection. I went up and took my flashlight out, started looking over every square inch of the bumper, comparing it to boarding body panels, touching it, looking at all of the other pieces they had to remove, looking at the hood gaps, you name it. I was looking at it. I actually could not tell it was replaced. I couldn't believe it. It was sunny enough out that even in bright light, side by side to my hood and fenders, I couldn't find a damn spot where I could point to and say "ahh I see where you blended it there". It had the flat grey, it has the sparkle, it had the same hue and tint. It looked as if my $100,000 car had just gotten a $1,000,000 paint job. When I say I am picky, I mean I was actually hoping I could find a place I wasn't happy with just so I could prove they had in fact replaced the bumper and not the whole damn car. I couldn't. I am still in awe. So, with all of that being said, if you have ANY sort of body work needed on ANY car, you better call Highway Garage. Every person I encountered there made me feel like I personally was their only customer. They kept me informed all along the way with regular phone calls, talked me through the entire process, and took SO much anxiety off my plate, I am incredibly grateful. Oh, and they worked directly with my insurance company so all I had to do was pay my deductible upon pickup and I was done. No other phone calls or paperwork needed! I hope this review is helpful to people who may be on the fence about this place. I mean it in complete honesty when I say I will never ever go anywhere again. It's not even a question. Good job Dan and crew, you guys and gals deserve this review. Surely you earned it!

When I called them to make an appointment, although the price increased, they still charged me the original quoted price. They didn't have to do it but they did and I'm truly grateful. Brought 2 of our vehicles here to have the tires swapped. A few minutes after arriving they told us…read morethey couldn't swap them because they were all wheel drive vehicles and tires were different sizes (going from an acadia to explorer). My husband and I have both worked in the auto industry do we already the tire sizes were able to be swapped, and for that matter both our vehicles are front wheel drive! My husband asked to see the vehicles while they were in the air (to double check), and sure enough FWD. He asked the girl who checked us in if she could just let tech know to double check before they give customers wrong info. She pulled the tech aside and told us tell him yourself, so my husband did. Tech had nothing to say except "ok" and gave him a dirty look. There was no "hey we were wrong we apologize"... just nothing. When cars were done my husband tried to tell the tech have a good day and he walked away and didnt even acknowledge him. We came here because ive been a customer in the past and never had an issue. 1. Not having the knowledge to know the difference between AWD and FWD - not good if youre in the vehicle repair business. 2. Not offering any kind of apology when it was YOUR mistake, just bad manners. 3. Walking away and not acknowledging a customer who was polite but pointed out your mistake and told you that you were wrong - unprofessional. We wont be back.
