I feel as if I have to let everyone on this app, as well as the customers that shop at this Ace Hardware. Know about my experience I had there today. Its April one of my favorite months, because of all the beauty. In the world, so I went together the supplies I would need to begin my garden for the spring, and summer. as you know April showers bring may flowers. so I figured that this was my chance with all of the rain as of late. and I go into the garden section to look for some mulch. as I proceed to see this one gentlemen completed shirtless, and with what looked like a shit stain on his pants and something running down his leg. eating straight out of the bag with a trowel. then he looked at me and said with his mouth full of mulch. hey do you want some, this freaked me out but also, gave me a weird conversation starter. but right as I went to run away from this man I slipped on what only smelled like urin. now with this huge urin stain on my grey shirt I checked out with my bag of mulch that had a hole and a quarter of mulch missing from it. read more

Baffled! Came up on here for propane refill. I saw the cage outside with the propane cylinders. Got the merchandise I was shopping for, asked the cashier if the refilled propane or just exchange. He had to ask; okay, nice friendly young woman said they do not refill or exchange. Too baffling conversation to repeat word for word, but I tried explaining "bring in an empty cylinder exchange it for a full one for one price. They got the separate prices on the cage. The staff at Dan's are excellent. There is some notable turnover, but the management does a good job of building a team that learns quickly and lives up to the motto of being helpful. At first I was skeptical about how much Ace had to offer, but their selection of products and services filled my needs 95 of the 100 times I've been there in the last 6 months working in apartment maintenance. When making use of their rewards program, the prices are quite reasonable. Overall, Dan's Ace Hardware gives the personal, small town hardware store feel, while being equipped to handle almost any need that a larger store would. 5 stars because of outstanding service. read more

If you're looking to have the manager hang up on you after being rude and condescending, then this is the place for you. It looks like the same manager from 5 years ago has not changed his ways. I will shop anywhere else in town or drive to Idaho Falls before I drop another cent at the Rexburg store. Maybe rethink the motto "hometown feel" when I'd rather chew glass than interact with that manager again. read more

Its a great small town ace hardware. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. I usually choose this store over larger stores because the prices are reasonable and it doesnt take 30 minutes to find a door hinge. I am a local, I've been a regular customer for 4 years. I've read some poor reviews for this ACE location from years ago, but perhaps it changed managers or upgraded it's customer service. It definitely deserves some better reviews. I come here for all my needs and pop in weekly; very convenient and easy in and out. The staff welcomes me every time and are eager to find what I need, answer my questions, help me to the cashier and carry out to my car. Every time. Sure, some staff are bound to be young and inexperienced in all things hardware... but they've always sought manager help if needed or used a walkie-talkie to get someone with answers. With few exceptions, I have found everything I came for; the store is well-stocked with a decent variety in hardware and lawn&garden items. Screens, keys made, paint, grass seed, you name it. ACE has weekly promotions and sale items are well-marked. I use the ACE rewards program to save $5-$50 every visit. Staff is happy to special order and I've gotten the correct items without undue delay. I frequently show up with s list and an associate hustles to help me find my items. I have returned items for cash refund with receipt, no problem. When I've needed a manager's help, the female manager was quite a good problem solver and I was taken care of. I hope they have ironed out previous customer-unfriendly issues, such as allowing ACE returns or store credit without receipt, taking a local check in an emergency, correcting paint-mixing errors in the customers' favor. These are what keep a home-town business personal and appreciated. I highly recommend this hardware store. read more

I've been coming here for years, but no more after my experience last week. I found the light bulbs I was looking for. While at the check out stand i started writing a check. I was promptly told they didn't accept checks and pointed to the small sign on the register. I had seen the sign before on previous visits. Unfortunately I didn't have cash nor a credit card with me. I asked if they could make an exception. NOPE. They had one bad check a year or so ago which brought about the no check policy. A long time well established resident and you cannot make one exception? In hind sight I should have asked the store manager to intervene. We are talking about a $25 purchase. In my annoyance I threw down the pen I was using and walked towards the exit. The clerk asked me if she wanted me to have them hold the light bulbs? Are you kidding me? I said no thanks and continued to walk out the door. Next I hear her say "Have a good one!" A good one what? This story has a nice ending. I went to another vendor and saved ten dollars and got a better quality set of light bulbs. read more

Went in to buy a pipe cutter. Found the only one with the size that I needed. It had tape around the edges of the packaging and the product was beat up. The blade was destroyed so the short brunette manager switched out the blade and charged me full price for a used and abused product. It didn't work and cut spirals in my expensive project. Terrible experience and could have been avoided if they didn't try and sell beat up used tools as brand new. Didn't offer any type of deal after all of that frustrating drama. Take your business elsewhere if you can. read more

This store has saved me so much time and so many trips to the big box stores. Many many products and if you just ask you might be surprised what they have in stock. Honestly, there's more staff working here than an entire Home Depot most days! read more

Difficult to work with. If you happen to lose your receipt they WILL NOT work with you! I fortunately found my misplaced receipt but this was after I was accused of not buying it from their store. The product was not opened and was in perfect condition. Sales clerk after sales clerk gave me the run around! I will never shop there again, I will go to Home Depot or Lowes. read more

Don't expect customer satisfaction in their paint department. I told them the color I wanted and they mixed it, took the can to the register for me and then I paid for it. When I got home and popped the lid it wasn't even close to the color I picked out. I took it back expecting them to mark it as a mis-tint, since their computer program is the reason it came out wrong. But no, they couldn't do anything about it. They couldn't even give any kind of discount for the second $35 gallon of paint they were insisting I buy. The manager, Jason, was so nonchalant about the whole ordeal which made it an even more miserable experience. read more

Not usually one to write a negative review, but just wanted to give you all a heads up about the experience I just had. Bought several of the same product for Christmas gifts, receipt was kept, packaging was kept, warranty info was filled out in store. One of the products (well known, quality brand name) is not working as it should. Returned to the store to see if they would work with us and the manufacturer to replace item. Was blatantly lied to by the Service Manager Jason and his store manager Bryan. Called them out on it and proved that they lied for my own personal satisfaction with a demonstration in store with them. They basically beat around the bush with a bunch of bull and then walked away. So not impressed. Contacted the Manufacturer and they are taking care of us directly. Will not support a store that operates like this! read more
