Others are wrapped as Science Centers, which as you expect, I'm more keen on. On our travels to Copenhagen, we had a day of free time, and with a kiddo, and snow coming down outside, our destination was... the Experimentarium. As a place that is designed for young minds, and to make learning entertaining, it's does it exactly that. There is a wonderful spiral staircase that takes you up to the various levels of exploration. Highlights include an interactive theater, where you get to move around in a story. Another is an oversized ball conveyer, which when you take your time to play with, gives you an opportunity to really delve into what it takes to move cargo around the world. Neat. On another floor, there is a wonderful food section, which talks about food, how it's made, farms, waste, and how we can do better. For the kiddos, there is a section that includes a bunch of activities with cameras that takes photos across the tasks, so you can bring the fun home. There are plenty of things for them to touch and play with across the entire center, including a Lego section, which makes sense, since Lego was founded in Denmark, and still headquartered. Worth it? Yup. Go again? Yup. Recommend? Yes.

Restrooms were located in the lower level. Tight spiral staircase with the lower level having a Dungeon atmosphere. We enjoyed the period paintings both on the walls and ceilings (some were breathtaking). The Castle has housed the Museum of National history (since 1878) with a collection that presents 500 years of Danish history. The furniture, Grand rooms, Knights armor and overall decorations transport you back to a time long ago. My only wish would have been to have more posted information/signage about what was in view. There is also a Church attached/next door which wasn't open to the public when we first arrived as there was a wedding. Opened up when we finished our Castle tour so we walked next door and spent some time there. Organ was playing so it added to the peaceful vibe and complemented the architectural beauty. It took us about 1.5 hours for Castle and Church although we didn't explore the grounds and the garden area in the back -so would recommend 2.5 to 3 hours for all. Saw a small Cafe. Service minded people were helping visitors with questions and ticket purchases. Really impressed by this Castle as well Hillerød.

I liked all the buildings, but most impressive was old wooden windmill, yellow spooky hospital and fishermens house. Everybody can find something they like. But most beneficial is to see how fortunate we are to be born in these days. I feel respect for old generations (not only Danish) and also more understand how important education and evolution in every direction connected to life. Even though I have 5 stars, I think there may be little bit more to add to this place. For example showing original old crafts (smith, fabrics making, cooking, shoe making, beer making, ....) so we could touch, smell and taste flavor as our ancestors. The ponies for kids and carriage for adults were nice, but more hands on activities would be great. I had a lot of fun with my family and hopefully we will be back sometime soon!
