I visited this museum on the way back to the train station from Kronborg. I had seen it on my way to the castle and was intrigued by the architecture. Seeing that it was free admission with my Copenhagen card, I figured I could explore as much or as little as I'd like.
The museum is sleek and beautiful, thoughtfully curated with all things seafaring and shipping, from the early days of global trade through the present. There are sections where you can follow the trade of goods globally to see how you would've fared in the 17th century. You can get a tattoo like those so closely associated with sailors. You can try your hand at navigation. And you can see how seafaring has evolved over time, as you end in the shipping container age, with demonstrations of the size, the lower carbon footprint, and the ways that global commerce have changed because of it.
