We were able to get her in on a Sunday with Dr. Jay Erickson. He was extremely professional and seemed more than happy to see us even though it was after normal operating hours. Dr. Erickson was thorough and gentle. He answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. He even followed up with us with a phone call ! I have had follow up calls from staff at other dentist offices but never from the Doctor. After the great service we received, when I was down for another family visit I decided to to have some teeth whitening trays made by Mathews Dental Group. Love them! They fit perfect! I have a dental back ground and the dentist that did the filling the first time, just 3 months earlier, left a space between the teeth which packed with food every time I ate. I asked my sister to go see Dr. Rivers before she did what another dentist recommended, which was to have one of her teeth extracted. Dr. Rivers made a crown and put the finished crown in her mouth the same day.

So I need to share my experience with this office. I love this place!!! All the staff is very nice and courteous and Dr Privett is the greatest. I have been coming here for well over 15 years and will not go any where else. In fact I drive close to 3 hrs just to go to this office!!! They do a great job with routine check ups and they always fit me when I have had passed emergencies. Pay no attention to the low ratings on yelp, these people are ridiculous. You need to know someone that goes there for a referral if you are a new patient, but that is ok. Find someone that is already a patient here and get a referral, this place is good!!!

Yes, I judge a place on how clean the bathrooms are kept. Additionally, each cleaning station has their own TV with cable and remote control (awesome), and x-ray machine that shows up on the tv monitor instead of having to do traditional x-ray films. High tech equipment and gadgets impress me. The office staff is very thorough and cheery. Every visit has been pleasant and organized. The staff is very well-trained, well-mannered, and extremely efficient. I had my teeth cleaned in just 20 minutes during my last visit. It is almost as if the office is a well-oiled machine. Additionally, Dr. Privett is very understanding towards poor graduate students, and he makes sure that I'm able to afford my dental work. He could have charged me out the wazoo for a filling, but he didn't. Instead he made it graduate student affordable.

Called Southern Smiles because lower dentures are falling apart. Sorry sir, but looks like you fell through the cracks. BTW, paid $650 in Feb 2024 and insurance covered remainder. Made appointment. Sure enough, I had "TEMPORARY" all this time. They never told me. Okay, still need permanent set. Okay but since 2024, your insurance changed and your permanent set will cost you an additional $450 plus $50 for a scan that no one seems to know why it is necessary. AND the scan was performed by a girl who had to ask another girl how to do it. Dentist came is and said don't worry the scan has nothing to do with the dentures. HUH???? Argued with administrator that they breached the initial contract but she would not budget. Take it or leave it!!! Needless to say, I would never recommend Southern NOT Smiling ever!!!
