Ask the Community - Daniel's Electric

I have large star shaped light fixtures hanging on my portal. Birds have made nests in them and damaged the connection. I need you to take them down, clean them out and repair the connection?

Get a handy man. Electricians do electrical work, but cleaning anyone can do, and they can also turn the power line off to unplug the fixture.

I COULD NOT HAVE HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE GOING SOLAR WITH CST SOLAR. All the staff - from sales,…read moreto techs, to company owner were wonderful, timely, intelligent, informative, and communicative throughout the installation process. Sandrine, a CST sales rep, is highly passionate about sustainable energy, well educated on solar, and did a fantastic job with her "solar presentation". I found her by accident - or by the grace of God, because I had already signed a contract to work with PositiveSolar Energy. But after signing the contract and putting down a $2000 deposit, the PSE rep called and told me they were going to have to add $4000 to my invoice due to an electric panel upgrade. I put the brakes on the project, then met Sandrine of CST by coincidence...and luck! CST put together a bid that was more than $4000 UNDER that of PositiveSolar Energy INCLUDING THE ELECTRIC PANEL UPGRADE, a 220 plug, AND an outdoor outlet! Wow! I called up my PSE rep and told him about CST's bid. He said he would see what they could do to reduce the price because, even if I forfeited the $2000 deposit, I would still be paying less with CST than with PSE. Well, long story short, PositiveSolar Energy couldn't come close, so to try and deter me from giving my business to Consolidated Solar Technologies, the rep started bad-mouthing CST, my rep Sandrine, and falsely stated CST was losing its contract with SunPower (the company whose solar panels we chose to have installed), and also stated CST was going out of business. ALL OF THIS WAS FALSE and simply a tactic to scare me into staying with PositiveSolar Energy - which I did not. Because of the lies and deceit conducted by a PSE representative, I was able to get the full deposit back and carry on with Consolidated Solar Technologies. CST got right to work assessing my roof, submitting permits to PNM and getting the installation completed. A SOLAR INSTALLATION IS NOT A FAST process because it requires third party approval. This is NOT CST or any solar company's fault. I think the installation process took just over two months from start to finish. The electric panel, solar panels, plugs, etc., are great and functioning perfectly. I LOVE being able to review our system's solar production at the end of each day or week. AND a $7 electric bill (payment to PNM for still being connected to the grid) is WAHOO!!! BEST OF ALL, the solar energy our system produces is more than we use in these summer months. This means we are building credit for the shorter and colder winter months AND the excess energy we produce during the long sunny days of summer is distributed through the grid to our neighbors' homes. SO...we are helping more than ourselves use clean, sustainable energy! Yay! It has been almost a year since the system installation was completed and turned on. We could NOT be happier. Additionally, we had golf-ball size hail this summer which damaged both of our cars, but DID NOT damage the panels. But if they had been damaged, SunPower panels are warrantied for 25 years! GO SOLAR! and Go solar with CST - Consolidated Solar Technologies! Thank you Sandrine, Alberto, Robert, the rest of the crew and James for saving us "a vacation's cost of money", for your top-to-bottom professionalism, AND for leaving things neat and tidy after the installation. It is my honor to refer friends and recommend CST to anybody who mentions the word SOLAR!

Electrical Services came out, made themselves available to catch the flickering and beyond that came back multiple times including 6am in the morning to isolate the source of the problem. Thanks Electrical Services.

I…read morecontacted Electrical Services, but they told me that it may be that I have a short in my breaker. I asked for someone to come out to check things and was told the earliest I could get someone was in 2 weeks! Normally, I would not have been concerned, but with the comment that there could be a short, I wanted someone to come out ASAP. Of course, this was July 3rd, and no one was available. I waited until Saturday the 5th, and found that Electrical Services had an Emergency Service, and reached an answering service. The electrician returned my call, and I was told the fee would be double the regular price, or $300/hour. I felt that was very excessive, but because of the concern for the short, I told the fellow to come over. He checked the breakers, then attached a "larger" wire to the existing wire to the plug in the room, and attached that to a new plug in the outlet box. That was it. He stated that should it trip the breaker again, I should call him! That evening, when we turned on the air conditioner along with the overhead fan, the breaker tripped again. On Monday, I called to let them know that the breaker only worked if I did not use the fan at the same time. I also asked if there could be an issue with the breaker itself, because it was most likely the original, and the house was built in 1989. He said, most likely not, but possible. I asked if he could come out and try that, but I only wanted to be charged for the breaker, not the time, since I already paid them $490! I was told he would check with the owner and get back to me. I never heard back. I am not one to write reviews, but in this case, it seems to me that I could have avoided the double rate had I not been told about a possible short in the breaker! I accepted that comment in good faith. I feel that what I paid this company, and what I received in return, regardless of the emergency fee, we a major overcharging and one that forced me to write this review! I would suggest one needs to pay attention when getting information from them!
