I give them two stars because, maybe for people who have money to burn and don't mind having to beg to get a response this would be a good option.

For years, I had suspected that there were some energy issues in my house leaving us to pay higher…read morethan normal electric bills. I searched for a long time to find someone who could actually do a home energy audit and does so in a residential (non-commercial) way and found Rodney and Advanced Metrics Group. Apparently, I'm not the only person to find Rodney as his schedule was quite busy, but we worked together to schedule, conduct and review results of the energy audit in a timely fashion. The energy audit provided key clues in to what were some of my larger issues. Summary: In 2021 Hubbel installed a $20,000 ductless mini split system in my house. It did not cool…read morethe house and leaked repeatedly. They stopped responding, so I just spent over $28,000 to have another company correct their work. Details: the head unit Hubbell installed in our living room leaked repeatedly. We had no AC in our living room for 2 months. After many calls, they moved the unit and repaired the damage. However, our home still reached 80° on a regular basis. They cancelled appointments, stopped responding to my calls and I did not hear from them for another two years. Hubbell also converted my wood-burning fireplaces to gas. They did not install the required interior shut offs, and I had to bring them back to redo that work too. I switched to another HVAC company, even though that meant paying out-of-pocket for work that should have been warrantied. They fixed leaks but that failed to remedy the problem. Per the new HVAC company, the heat pump Hubbell installed was grossly undersized and placed much too close to a wall. The head units were placed poorly and relied on pumps which failed. Hubbell never had required state inspections performed, nor did they inform me about requirements for such inspections. This year, the new company moved the Hubbell heat pump to a new location on my roof and relocated all of the head units. They added another heat pump and two more head units. $50,000 later I have a functioning HVAC system. In 2024 Hubbell sent me a collection letter, via their attorney, seeking payment for the repairs they had done two years prior, to remedy the three separate leaks that they caused. This was the first I ever heard that they believed I owed them money. I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General. Hubbell, via their attorney, acknowledged that they had billed me in error, that I did not owe them any money and that the company was willing to discuss compensating me. I did not follow up, because I did not want any more to do with their lawyer or their offer to "consider some sort of compensation." Nobody from Hubbell ever contacted me about my complaints. I thought I was done with them, but almost two years later, Hubbel sent me another bill for the same work. The timing is ironic because I had just paid the other company to remedy Hubbell's deficient work. I rarely post reviews, but it seems the nightmare with this company will never end.

Earlier today, Mike Gorman (Gorman Lightning Protection) and his grandson, Hank, finished the installation of a Lightning Protection System on our home, complete with multiple whole-house surge protection devices. We are well pleased with the system, the product installation (mostly hidden unless you are looking for it), and the process, as well as the stellar customer service. From initial contact until completion Mike and his company were informative, professional, and reasonable in cost. For those who have concerns about the product and installation costs, consider this: - one lightning strike to our home resulted in nearly $13,000 to replace and service damage to our home. - This $13K only considers the tangible costs and doesn't consider the intangible - the inconvenience and time required to file the insurance claim, research vendors to replace damaged items, and select vendors to complete the work. - The total cost for the Lightning Protection System (parts and labor) was about 1/3 of the insurance claim. I am not a good predictor of lightning events so it's important to us to address the potential for continued future lightning strikes that likely would result in damage to our home. If the past several days are any indicator, lightning events occurred all around us. No strikes to our home during these, but what does the future hold? If not already clearly stated, my wife and I highly recommend this company! Turns out it was on the pole and PNM's problem. They came back to explain how they isolated it and made sure they took care of it. So far above and beyond anyone else we paid to come out. I had an issue with my new air conditioner, which was causing my circuit breaker to shut down. I asked for someone to come out to check things and was told the earliest I could get someone was in 2 weeks! Normally, I would not have been concerned, but with the comment that there could be a short, I wanted someone to come out ASAP. Of course, this was July 3rd, and no one was available. I waited until Saturday the 5th, and found that Electrical Services had an Emergency Service, and reached an answering service. The electrician returned my call, and I was told the fee would be double the regular price, or $300/hour. I felt that was very excessive, but because of the concern for the short, I told the fellow to come over. He checked the breakers, then attached a "larger" wire to the existing wire to the plug in the room, and attached that to a new plug in the outlet box. That was it. He stated that should it trip the breaker again, I should call him! That evening, when we turned on the air conditioner along with the overhead fan, the breaker tripped again. On Monday, I called to let them know that the breaker only worked if I did not use the fan at the same time. I also asked if there could be an issue with the breaker itself, because it was most likely the original, and the house was built in 1989. He said, most likely not, but possible. I asked if he could come out and try that, but I only wanted to be charged for the breaker, not the time, since I already paid them $490! I was told he would check with the owner and get back to me. I never heard back. I am not one to write reviews, but in this case, it seems to me that I could have avoided the double rate had I not been told about a possible short in the breaker! I accepted that comment in good faith. I feel that what I paid this company, and what I received in return, regardless of the emergency fee, we a major overcharging and one that forced me to write this review! I would suggest one needs to pay attention when getting information from them!
