When I saw this doctor, he assured me I would have a 99% improvement in my pre surgical symptoms. Not 100%, but surely 99%. His resident looked surprised that he had made the statement. On surgery day, a few minutes prior to surgery, the doctor changed the manner in which the surgery would be performed. Saying it was a better approach. Later I found out, "it" was not. Since I was under anesthesia, I am uncertain what the doctor, and/or his resident, did or how the snafu was orchestrated, but my bowel was sewn way up under my bladder with 4 stitches on either side, causing a closed loop small bowel obstruction. After surgery, I was in terrible pain, and I have a high pain tolerance. I knew something was wrong, but only the resident came to see me and gave me pain meds to block the pain, but never assessed what was causing the pain. The doctor never came to see me after surgery. The resident was not as nice as he had been prior to surgery. I was at a friend's house in Phoenix, I called the office, described that I was still having terrible pain, and was told "take your pain meds. that's what they are for". For several weeks, I informed the doctor and his office that I was in terrible pain and had a myriad of symptoms. The doctor assured me I was fine. I saw the doctor at two weeks post op. I told him I could not stand with out urinating on myself, no bowel movement since the surgery and I was in constant pain. I discussed all of my symptoms, which later I found out he never noted in my chart. I telephoned him regularly, as he gave me his personal cell phone number. He suggested I call him and not the office. He stated he would reassess me at 6 weeks post surgery and "that" would be my "new normal". I never got there, I had excruciating pain, and started vomiting bowel particles through my mouth. I called the doctor and he said it was just constipation and to take magnesium citrate. My post op care was non-existing. Long story short, I had to have a bowel resection due to the closed loop bowel obstruction. It took me years to recover my health. I still am not the same as before. Due to the "good ole boy system, It is was impossible to hold this doctor responsible for his actions. read more

Had my first visit today with Dr. Stone and I love him. So happy that I found a doctor that knows exactly what he's doing and definitely an expert with my medical issues. Update.. Although Dr. Stone is a good doctor, his staff is horrible. They treat you like a number, they don't care , they don't listen to your concerns. They push back on every Question that you have And act like you're nuts. Staff Is terribly rude, disrespectful and sarcastic and have a very demeaning attitude. Most of his staff are young girls that are on a power trip that have no idea how to communicate or talk to people. I got a lot of red flags that I chose to ignore first being I had made an appointment three or four weeks out because that was their soonest appointment. I called two days later mind you still weeks in advance to change the appointment to a different day and the girl that answered said she was going to have to put me on a hole to see if Dr. Stone wanted to see me anymore because I had changed an appointment. That was my first red flag. I should've ran so fast, but I didn't. I kept trusting that they will pull through for me with this horrible medical problem I had. I was basically desperate To get help, but I have now learned that no one has to put up with that kind of treatment and I will never succumb to any doctors office that treats you like shit. And what sad is a lot of doctors don't even know what their staff is telling their patients and They're just on these power And control trips. Especially D, Dr Stones medical assistant Debbie and Jessica. They treat every case the same. Although I have organs hanging out of me , they gave me such a hard time with my disability and medical leave from work. Staff discounted every thing I said, acted like it was no emergency. Try to say all I had was a little urinary incontinence when my cervix and bladder were and still are sticking out 4 inches outside of my body. I've been in such pain and called in sick to work and they had the nerve To ask me who told me to call in sick when I can't even sit without being in terrible pain. I had surgery scheduled and now I have to start over with my new doctor and they have made me have to postpone this very much needed surgery along with Jeopardizing my reputation at my job and jeopardizing my state disability. I have a very strenuous job and lift 50 pounds on a daily basis, but they didn't care. They acted like I was trying to take time off of work for no reason. Staff is very demeaning, rude and sarcastic. In this type of practice, Dr should really have educated staff that know how to talk to people, especially in this field . They literally made me cry four different times after hanging up with them. They kept changing their stories and just ganging up on you like bullies in grade school. Pretty pathetic so I've now gone to a different Doctor Who is amazing and his whole staff treats you with respect and listens to your concerns and actually cares. Steer clear of this practice because you will be terribly disappointed and frustrated your choice. If anyone decides to go with Dr. Stone's office, you will be pretty much on your own with no help from his staff. If you have complications or questions you might as well forget about telling them because they'll just poo poo your symptoms and act like you're insane. I don't think anybody wants or expects to be treated that way. I recorded every single phone call and I suggest anybody that may be going to them do the same. They just couldn't comprehend the simple fact that I work out of California, but live in Arizona and I've been paying in interstate disability for years and it's there for me to use in these situations. They kept saying that it was Fmla and it was Social Security disability and then jessica had the nerve to say sarcastically "well we're not in California, we're in Arizona. " Literally talk to me like I was a five-year-old. It was maddening There are Many better urogynecology practices. Don't make the mistake that I made. And also read the reviews. There are a-lot about his incompetent, uncaring staff even one says it's like his staff are sleepwalking through their jobs. Beware . Very sad situation. My wife is a patient of Dr. Stone and performed a procedure on her. My wife had been raving about him from Day 1. She never had the kind of attention, thoroughness and gentleness from other doctors she'd seen. He even called her personally several times after the procedure which really helped my wife be at ease . Overall, an excellent doctor. My turn ... my wife is overseas and ran out of prescription.I called and left Dr. Stone a vm to prescribe another medication that is affordable. I only had a 3 hour window and I needed the medication asap since I will be following my wife overseas. To my amazement, he called right away, prescribed a new medication and I got it on my hands within 2 hours. I would like to relate my experience with the amazing and wonderful Dr Daniel Stone! Not only is he an excellent and very knowledgeable doctor but he is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I've ever met. After seeing several other doctors for a second opinion, I knew within the first fifteen minutes that I wanted Dr Stone to do my fistula repair surgery. He spent time explaining what the surgery and recovery would entail and made sure to answer all my questions. After the surgery he even called to find out how I was doing! Dr. Stone has been treating me for about three years for a bladder prolapse and for interstitial cystitis. I came to him because I had issues with another local urogynecologist I had been seeing. Dr. Stone is extremely knowledgeable, a great communicator and listens to you and your concerns. He performed a hysterectomy/prolapse procedure on me about two months ago. I had minimal discomfort and was able to get back to (most of) my daily routine within days. He even called me at home a few days after the surgery to see how I was doing. Couldn't ask for a more competent, approachable doctor. Regarding the support staff - everyone that I have interacted with has been great. When I have a question or need a prescription, Iris gets back to me in a very timely manner. Highly recommend! read more

Good doctor, absolutely horrible office staff. My wife had an appointment for a routine lab test that never cost us more than $ 25 in lab fees. The sample was sent to a lab out of state that we had never heard about, Avero and got charged over $700 after insurance (the amount billed before insurance was $ 1,300) which is more than 3 times what we expected (and of course, the test results were negative and not necessary). When we contacted the lab about the bill, they told us the only way to get it adjusted was to work with the physician. We called his office multiple times, they refused to do anything about it and acted quite annoyed. Dr Stone himself never got back to us. Nobody had an explanation as to why that particular lab was chosen (usually Sonora Quest does it and it's much, much cheaper), and why it was so expensive. They never offered to contact the lab, look into it, or do ANYTHING at all. They told us to just pay the bill. When looking online for similar situations online, every single article or blog post we found said to contact the physician and they usually work it out. My wife had been going to that office for 3 years and thought she had a good relationship with Dr Stone, but they did not care at all about her going over to a different doctor. Hey Dr. Stone! I am actually Kelly M from Phoenix. I wanted to say you are the best doctor EVER! He is very knowledgeable with a kind and caring nature. Great bedside manner. I wish more people knew about Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Rectocele. Dr. Stone is patient and showed me the procedure through video and in conversation. He takes his time. I never felt rushed. He truly cares about his patients. I am six weeks post op and have not had any problems. He took time to explain exactly what he did while operating. It feels so good to use the bathroom normally and to be anatomically correct. If I could give him 10 stars I would. I would like to mention that his nurse and staff are wonderful, kind, caring people. I would recommend Dr. Stone to anyone. read more

Not sure why the office staff is so rude and so quick to dismiss you when you call in? Dr.Stone is great! You'd think his staff would be too, but they're not. Every single time I call in they're very short and rude. Disappointing. Won't be recommending dr stone only because of the rude staff. Nobody should have to deal with that. The urologist isn't fun, let alone having to go with staff that make you feel like you bother. read more
