Story…read moretime: as first time parents, I didn't realize how AWFUL dealing with dental insurance for pediatrics is. I had a NIGHTMARE of experience with covered california & their assigned added delta dental HMO plan with no help to provide care for my 4 year old son whom complained of mouth pain. I went back & forth many times calling & requesting to speak to supervisors to escalate the issue with no resolution for a week. I even signed up for additional insurance in hopes to just get treatment but that solution still fell into the category of unknown of "in network" care & costs AND the plan didn't go into effect the following month which is useless because my son needed care NOW. Fast forward to doing research & reaching out to dental practices to find a solution, I came across Pediatric Dentistry Palo Alto which offered their own membership which was effective immediately & they had appointment availability to be seen the following day, I finally felt a sigh of relief. I could already tell the high quality of care my son would receive not only by the reviews I read, but also by the photos of the office, the location, and also by the way the staff communicated with me to address my concerns both financially & clinically for my son. The front desk Tony & Alani, were prompt in their responses & were solution focused which I appreciated most. Tony went above & beyond to assist with getting the financial program situated. We scheduled with Dr Adam through the portal & the staff informed us that Dr. Jon will be seeing my son instead because change in Dr Adam's schedule. I read high reviews for Dr Jon & we agreed that was fine. The experience: when we first walked in, the office is modern, clean & well kept. They had images of characters to create a welcoming atmosphere for kids. We were fortunate to work with our hygienist Andres whom was patient & worked so well with our 4 year old. It was perfect because before their treatment, they bring them into their video closet which our son got to choose & they display it on a screen above the treatment chair which we thought was very clever & cool! My son mentioned he was scared to go to the dentist & did so well because the whole staff created a welcoming & comforting atmosphere. Dr Jon was amazing, he has a great presence with kids as he is a father himself. We appreciated his realistic, honest approach to treatment & how thorough he was at explaining all the details. We are so relieved & happy that we stumbled upon this dental practice! We travel from San Francisco & Dr Jon asked if we were ok with the distance & we mentioned to him that we are the type of people to drive the distance to receive quality care. Our son mentioned how scared he was to go to the dentist for the first time, and when we asked him how it was afterwards he told us, "that was fine!" He has managed both our kids and thanks to their good work (sealant) we've yet to have a cavity yet! Parents can sit and watch all the cleanings. Kids can watch videos in the waiting room (which is never a long wait) and in their reclined back seats. Office is upstairs in a nice bright and airy setting that puts kids at ease. If you run into any childhood dental emergencies there is never a problem getting ahold of him or one of the other area dentists he rotates with on weekends. Those visits run about $200. Very professional and it's obvious Dr. Gerber cares about doing a great job and kids love him! His 2 hygienists are great and when we bring in both kids for their cleanings they work in tandem to get quickly you in and out. Receptionist does all the billing at the end of each visit and does a great job of scheduling and setting up the next visit. Have never had a cancellation or had to wait very long for an appointment. KUDOS!

The Disney movie Cars was playing on the TV when we walked in and during the exam/cleaning. Both boys were seen in a large room where the hygienists worked on both at once and I could talk to both. The hygienists took me through a comprehensive list of first-timer stuff like brushing technique, diet, baby teeth timing, emergency care, etc. Their tone with me was friendly and respectful. All the while they chatted happily with my kids. Dr. Gerber has young kids himself, and clearly knows how to relate. He complemented the boys' superhero shoes and dragon tattoos before going to work on their teeth. I only gave four stars since this is based on a single visit. We'll be back.

The office itself is modern, clean, and has all of the bells and whistles of an up-to-date practice. Dr. Vallee spends a lot of time with her patients and I've never gotten the sense that she's rushed or too busy to answer my questions. She is definitely a perfectionist, which I appreciate when it comes to my dental care. I've had a couple of procedures done and have been satisfied with the results. The office manager handles the billing with my insurance and I can pay the remaining balance online. Everything is very convenient and straightforward. I'd highly recommend this dental practice.

It was a tricky case to diagnose (I saw two other dentists before Dr. Vallée), and it resulted in 6 months of severe pain when chewing. With a small baby, no sleep, and very little free time, I knew I needed to find a dentist close to home. I'm so glad I found Dr. Vallée! She scheduled me in right away, and talked me through the diagnosis of my tooth pain. She managed to spot (and show me) a small fracture that was the likely culprit and quickly came up with a set of conservative treatment plans to resolve the pain and save my tooth. I'm really happy to report that it worked! I ended up needing a root canal (by the way, if you need one of these, go to Dr. Finley, he is great!) Dr. Vallée communicated directly with my endodontist to assess the treatment plan, and to follow-up on how the procedure went. Dr. Vallée is compassionate and very skilled. I really appreciate the care and attention she put into evaluating my case and following up on its outcome. And I am SO grateful to be finally pain free! Thank you!!

Thanks to both of them, my gum health improved so much over time. Once my gums were finally in a great place, Dr. Mohan did composite bonding to fill the black triangles just in time for my wedding.
