They tried to trick me into giving them Money that I didn't owe and was covered by insurance. Would leave 0 stars if possible. My experience Aug 18, 2022. Dr is unethical and only cares about money. They just wanted to nickel and dime me and my insurance for everything.. they wanted me to make and come back for 3 different concerns so they could bill the insurance. There are some great pediatricians out there but they are not one! My son was 3 and behind on speech. I had been communicating with his previous pediatrician who said at his next wellness appointment she would write a referral for my son for speech therapy if he was still behind. He use to go to the amazing dr hala at tots and teens Pediatrics and the only reason we came to dr q is because we moved to Orlando from St. Cloud and they said they no longer took our insurance. So I made an appointment for my sons annual appointment. When I signed up online they wanted the $20 co pay right away. But I found the fine print button to pay at office and I then called the office to relay that this was for his annual and was being charged a co pay by mistake and should be covered by insurance. They said that was fine and I didn't owe a co pay. Then when I got there they said they can not put it as an annual because his last annual was on Dec 30 8 months ago and he had to wait exactly 365 days to get another annual done. I said that was not true and never heard of that before that would mean i would have 2 days every year to get him a physical what if those days fell on days I worked or fell on a weekend that made no sense. But the dr insisted and claimed she had been doing this over 25 years and they send back a bill for parents every time and I would have to pay $20 co pay that day. So I called my insurance right there and they confirmed the annual appointment doesn't have to be 365 days apart and my son could have gotten his annual Jan 1 for this year if I wanted to. They confirmed I should not be charged a co pay for visit. I went to give the phone to the lady at the front desk and she asked I take it off speaker which I thought was weird and like she wanted to talk with them without me hearing. But did so. Also was surprised that she wanted to hold my phone to her face when they have a strict mask policy and charged $2 fee if you don't wear a mask. . After 2 hours and getting that straightened out. I then asked the front desk about referrals that I will need they said i would need to make another appointment for that but could check with dr. When dr came in I had told her I would need a referral for a specialist as my son was now 3 and still very behind on speech. She said she would need to charge insurance/me for a regular visit and not the annual then or i would have to make another appointment. The point of an annual visit especially for a toddler is to evaluate over all health and development and if a developmental delay is found during annual visit/exam then the dr is supposed to write a referral. Not say oh I found this issue during evaluation and you need to come back so I can write and referral Not say oh I found this issue during evaluation and you need to come back. My son had some other issues and concerns that I didn't even get to bring up to the dr. I don't have time to make 3 appointments 3 days in a row or the money to make 3 different co pays. I had made this appointment 3 weeks in advance which means that i would have to wait another 3 weeks for my son to get a referral and help he needs. So I politely walked out of appointment and said I would go somewhere else for his annual. He ended up being diagnosed with autism and needing therapy right away. With this Dr my son would not have gotten the care he needed for a few months more. Early intervention is key with autism. Thank goodness it wasn't something life threatening who knows what would have happened. Protect your children by not taking them here. Sorry for not posting sooner.

I have been going to Dr. Douglas for several years now. I only need to see the doctor once a year…read morefor my regular check up but every time I have gone, I have been happy with the visit and efficiency of the office. My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.

One of the things I most appreciate about Dr. Douglas is how prompt he is, so if an appointment is at 2:30pm as an example, you can betcha that a few minutes later, Dr. Douglas will stroll into the consulting room. I also like that he is through, keeps up to date with the latest medical research and offers genuine, logical solutions that work best for your individual circumstances rather than whatever the latest fad is. However, after the experience first hand, I believe this is an outstanding approach and much different from the model where they task doctors to see hundreds of patients and charge as much as possible. This membership model is affordable, but more so my new Primary Care Doctor at Family Tree Primary Care took time to go over all my concerns as well as what she wanted to go over too in great detail. I did not feel rushed and I did not feel like another number. Everything was clearly explained and the discounts for a wide variety of services ranging from bloodwork to scanning, medications to other tests are outstanding. I believe this model of patient engagement, connection and authentic concern for health and wellness is a great alternative to the popular and less effective primary care model that is out there. To me, this is the future of patient care, where a patient is cared for as the individual person.

When I arrived I was greeted immediately, taken to my room and all my paperwork was already done. They hooked my head up to the electrical system and I was ready to be monitored for the 5 days. During the course of the 5 days I was treated with such kindness EVEN FROM THE NIGHT CLEANING STAFF! Honestly, everyone is so KIND! They hired an amazing diverse group of employees and even under the circumstances it wasn't really bad. I was even more surprised that someone actually cared what I ate! NO LIE... a really nice girl came by each day to take my order from a regular menu. Having been in and out of the hospital so many times, this was a nice surprise to not feel like I was in a hospital. I wish I could thank every member of the staff -
