I highly recommend Dania Eye Center! To begin, the office is in a convenient location, right off Federal Highway, with plenty of parking. The office is open, clean, and bright. The staff is warm, friendly, and professional. Gary and Chris are extremely welcoming, and make you feel like family. Dr Grindahl is lovely and makes your eye exam a pleasant experience. Just recently got my eyes examined a month ago after not having them examined for three years. My insurance pays for either contacts or glasses but the eye exam covers for both glasses and contact prescriptions. Got my eye glass exam done and doctor then proceeded to start the process of dilating my eyes (since I am a 12 year cancer survivor and it is recommended for any prior cancer patients to get eyes dilated) when I discussed about maybe wanting to pay out of my pocket to maybe try some new and latest contacts. The doctor suggested I come back when my glasses were ready and she would at no charge do the examination for contacts (since she could not exam my eyes for contacts - the dilation process prevented her from doing so) I proceeded to place an appointment for two weeks later (when the day that my eye glasses would be ready to pickup from Chris Jacobs) when I arrived at my set appointment to have my eyes examined for contacts. The receptionist proceeded to let me know I can pay for the exam and have a seat. I told her the conversation I had with the doctor just two weeks prior. She knocked on the door and interrupted someone else's eye exam to ask the doctor the question about my exam appointment. I could hear from the distance and the doctor told the receptionist that she stated no such thing. This has disheartened me to go back to Dania Eye Center. Which is such a shame. I love Chris Jacobs to pieces, she is the sweetest person ever. read more

I was refused service by this business because I wanted my prescription renewed. I paid by insurance for an eye exam at Dania Eye Center circa 18 months ago. My eyes have remained the same for over forty years. I do not want or need another eye exam. I wanted my prescription renewed NOT because my eyes got worse, but because my glasses were stolen at the library. There is no law that requires one to have an eye exam every year nor to renew a prescription and it is unethical for a business to pretend otherwise. When this "doctor", led me into an exam room, I balked. He threw me a barrage of misleading answers designed to trick me into thinking I had to get another eye exam to get a new prescription. Where I come from, that is called lying. All he had to do was pick up a pen and pad instead of trying to swindle me. I stuck to my guns and insisted he answer my simple question, "When did it become legally compulsory to have another eye exam to get a prescription renewed?" When he saw he could not sidetrack or buffalo me, he refused service--not because he was right but because he was caught. Thus, my last eye exam results are being held hostage by Dania Eye Center unless I pay for an unwanted new exam. This "doctor" was so ready with his "first-offended" act and obfuscating replies that I am convinced he is pulling this stunt on all his patients. I dislike liars. I dislike con artists. I dislike doctors who rip off the medical insurance system via over-treatment. I dislike fat oafs who abuse their position to imply crooked business practices are some kind of law the customer must obey. And now I dislike Dania Eye Center. Like we say in Texas, "You done been told." read more

Do not go here!!!! Horrible service... I was being helped & they stopped to help someone else! Then a month later they said my insurance would cover better frames... THAT WAS A LIE bc they fit me for the wrong frames. Instead of being honest about their mistake they tried to cover it up!!! That visit took 3 hours and I have a newborn. I'm on my way to go and curse them out... paid for a babysitter just so I could do just that!!! read more

I called their office and Yanitza LaGuardia answered, she hung up on me, I called back & she was extremely rude, cutting me off, not even listening to me as a potential client, I asked for a supervisor and Gary Jacobs answered, he was just as rude and was trying to defend the employee, telling me I could go else where if I wasn't happy, and I sure as hell will. I was so shocked that a business could be so unprofessional especially when they deal with children. Just disgusted. It shows how horrible their service is when their own employee, Yanitza LaGuardia, comes on their yelp account to make a fake review right below mine! DO NOT GO HERE! "A yearly eye exam is a good idea. Some people actually have concerns that warrant exams or office visits more often than once per year. One must understand that an eye examination is not only a simple vision check. A comprehensive eye examination is a fairly complicated series of tests that not only checks your eye sight, but also neurological function, eye pressure, eye muscle coordination and health of the external and internal eye structures." With this being said I think it is a good idea for people to get their eyes checked once a year. Not sure if he was trying to scam you but it sound like you were trying to avoid that payment which could benefit you in the long run. Also, individuals who think they are ALWAYS fine and never want to see a DR are always the people who come back to sue you in the end when they discover they have a problem. Of course its ALWAYS the DR fault! I think the DR was right in this case to refuse service. I don't think its worth losing his practice over your $35 co pay. I have been using this DR for over 10yrs now and the service is great. I guess if you actually care about your health. read more

This is the worst eye doctor ever! Got my kids glasses from here she is 7 and she broke them couldn't get a replacement because they lost the entire chart. Way to go Dania Eye Care. And on top of that the receptionist is very rude and should watch herself everyone doesn't take disrespect light. Never the less my kids insurer only pays for one exam and glasses per year so now I have to go elsewhere where they can keep up with the chart n pay. read more

Dania Eye Center has been my place for eye care for many years. The doctors are thorough and professional and the folks that sell and service the selection of glasses are helpful, friendly and no pressure. The sales person there has helped me select glasses that always result in compliments. Any time I have needed service, it is always done promptly and skillfully.
