This was the first year this happened. This is a great activity for kids. Lots of shops and great music.

I was honestly so pleasantly surprised by this event! I had been to a few other event at Dania Beach City Hall and while they were fun, they were relatively small. This event, however, was much larger scale! I was very impressed with the variety and quality of all of the vendors. They had booths for homemade soaps, candles, jewelry, and so much more. A few of my favorite booths were the homemade candles from Rockhopper Candles. She makes beautifully scented candles and also upcycles and repurposes multiple types of jars and cans to put candles in. If you followed her page on Instagram, she was giving tiny tea lights as samples, which I think is marketing genius! There also was incredible live music! Many people had brought their own lawn chairs to sit in front of the stage and listen to the music performed by Tomasito Cruz, who is a Grammy Award winning Latin artist. The music was awesome and just loud enough to hear throughout the entire street festival without being too loud for people in the area. I was also very excited about the amount of food and drink options available. There was a booth that had offerings from mixed liquor drinks to beer and wine. They also had a specialty valentine's day punch which I thought was super cute. Local restaurant, Artesano's Café, had their back door open and was also pouring wine from a small booth. Overall I was very impressed by this street festival and I cannot wait to come back and bring friends next month! Be sure to follow their page on Facebook for upcoming dates and who will be performing each month!

I really loved my first time at this festival. The easiest way to find it is to navigate to the Dania Beach Library. Then you can pull right into the parking garage which offers free parking for the festival. The festival is held on the second Saturday of the month from 5 to 10 P.M. There is a lot going on in a relatively small space. The city hall has the Dania Beach Art Atrium open so you can see work by exhibiting artists. This is also a great place to find a real bathroom if you don't want to be stuck using the port a potties. Outside is an artisan marketplace where vendors sell paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. I bought a cute little wire blue stone ring from one of the artists. One of my favorite booths is the 3D cut out paper cards. On the lawn is live music with a laser show on the side of the parking garage. Tonight's act was the Wolfepak who played classic rock. A lot of people bring stadium chairs and blankets to sit on the lawn. While you are enjoying the music you can avail yourself of the full bar. The even had a special drink for the festival, the Dania Nightfall, a delicious concoction of sour mix, blue curacao, grenadine, and sprite. If you get hungry there were a ton of food trucks and booths selling any kind of food you could imagine. If I hadn't already eaten dinner I would have gotten the paella. Don't forget desserts with choices like Italian ice and fudge. This festival is fun, free, and pet friendly. You can spend as much as you want or nothing at all and still have a great time. I was impressed by how much they had to eat, shop, and see. It was the perfect summer evening, sitting on the lawn with a refreshing drink in hand, taking in the sights and sounds around me.

Since parking there is limited, there is additional parking next door at the Dania Beach Casino. Put on by the Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency the festival melds food, art, and entertainment. Entertainment included live musicians performing on the stage and sand sculpting. There were food tents and trucks set up selling all kinds of seafood but also fair food. The art side of the festival featured artists selling works in drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, acrylic, oil, watercolor, and photography. There were also arts and crafts, artisan food, and plant vendors. Local community groups and businesses also had booths passing out information, swag, and samples. I won a free hat from the casino! Many people brought chairs and set up for the day on the field or under the shade of the trees. On the last night of the festival there was a concert featuring a Queen cover band. Held over the entire weekend there was more than enough to keep you occupied for several hours. This is a great family and dog friendly event.

There were many local artisans selling jewelry, crafts, and artwork at reasonable prices. All of the tents provided some shade which was so necessary because it was extremely warm! There were plenty of incredible options for food as well. Of course, a great variety of seafood was available but there were also options for Greek food and other varieties. The music stage was so much bigger than I thought it was going to be and had incredible talent on it throughout the day. The Foreigner cover band was excellent! My favorite part of the event was the chef showcase! Local chefs from the area prepped a few dishes live for the audience. They shared their cooking techniques, tips, and tricks and once the dishes were done they shared tastes of each dish with the crowd. It was so entertaining and everything was delicious!

This year was the 4th annual Riptide Music Festival hosted by 105.3, The Shark, a local alternative…read moreradio station. The festival is a two day music event. The radio station sells tickets for the cheapest price before the lineup is even announced and ticket prices go up the closer you get to the festival. I gather that in past years they were more lax about what you could bring in like allowing beach chairs. This year there was a strict do and don't policy. I ended up having to purchase a clear backpack to carry my few belongings into the festival. Chairs were banned but you could bring a towel. All food and drinks were banned except for the one 16 ounce factory sealed water bottle you were allowed to bring in. A complete list of items allowed were posted on the website. Day one of the festival had the biggest draw, The Killers. This event gets 5 stars just for that band. I have wanted to see them live forever and it was all that I hoped it would be. I feel really grateful that I got to see them. On Saturday I also got to see The Revivalists and The 1975 who were also great live. By the time The Killers came on the entire beach was packed. Day two had a less crowded more laid back vibe. On Sunday I got to see Barns Courtney, Switchfoot, and Catfish and the Bottlemen. The closing band was Jimmy Eat World which by that time it had started to rain and I had work the next day so I skipped them. Things to keep in mind when attending the festival: Parking is a pain. While Pomano Beach has added beach parking in recent years, Ft. Lauderdale has eradicated almost all of their beach parking. The first night I parked on Las Olas and took a Lyft in. After the show I walked the two miles back to my car. On Sunday I parked at the Broward County Convention Center for $7 and took a $5 Lyft ride back and forth. I think that was the best option. You could also park at Bahia Mar for $40 and Church by the Sea for $30 although both places were out of spots on Saturday. If you can have someone drop you off do that or prepare to pay a lot of money or walk. Food is available at the festival. They had a lot of options and prices were typical of festivals. Water was $4, alcoholic drinks were 8 to 15 dollars. I had a disgusting White Claw, never again. Bathrooms are port a potties. Festival T Shirts ran $30. Everyone takes cards as payment so no need to worry about cash. A few places gave samples of beer and Goya was giving humus and vegetables. Once you check in to the festival there is no return entry so you can't leave the festival to eat at one of the nearby restaurants and come back. You are held hostage until you are ready to leave. This was my first Riptide Festival. I loved the bands but hated the stage. The placed it so the back was along A1A allowing the performers to look out towards the ocean. The audience had to peer around several Palm Trees that were in the way depending on where you were standing. My preference when going to a show is to have a seat and a real bathroom. I did not enjoy standing packed in the middle of thousands of sweaty people. I had a pretty good spot for the Killers but it was so miserable standing there that I gave it up to hang out in the back where I could at least breathe. Would I come again? Quite possibly depending on the bands but this festival is exhausting with the amount of walking and standing. Just to get from the entrance to the stage was at least half a mile on sand. I also wish The Shark would consider moving the festival up the beach to Pompano which has parking.

The park had enough seats for everyone with pretty good view. The venue had some food trucks - pizza, bar, tables set up for a separate eating area. It had some vendors selling items,,, somewhat like a farmers market. A stage with live band music. Fake snow being blown out to the viewing area. So that was cute. Once the parade began the band or music stopped. Everything sounds great but here's my reason for the 3. I felt like you get a better view on all the boat details from the TV. It would have been nice a big screen and being able to actually hear the music from the boats. I felt as I could barely hear the person speaking announcing the boats or what boat they were talking about. Some Christmas music during the parade would have been nice. I kinda felt a little boring. I felt it could have been a bit more lively. Maybe I expected more since it seems like so much fun viewing on Tv. I did like the funds received would go to a good cause. I think next year I'll watch at home or maybe make better plans to watch at a restaurant. I will watch it on TV for Christmas to get the full experience. I do recommend Uber but the. Expect to go somewhere else till bridge opens up and able to catch an uber back home.

This year, 2025, was good too but not as good as in the past. The distance between the parading boats was too great, tending to make the whole thing too long and boring.
