I always feel welcome here, and my children and I visit for quite a while, reading and making sure they get the perfect book (I know!!). In addition the staff are polite and helpfull is you need any assistance. The library has very good opening hours, staying open til 19.00 most week days. Only real negative is the internet is £3.00 an hour to use within the library which is not really competitive with other internet cafes locally.

This library is let down by its' location - it is above the shopping centre and you often have to…read morerun the gauntlet of local youths to get inside. There is a lift - but it is not a very pleasant experience! Once inside, the library is well stocked and bright. They have good local art exhibitions on a regular basis, and book readings and talks. They have recently introduced self scanning for returning and issuing of books. This is a shame as it cuts down interaction with the staff who are all pleasant, knowledgeable and have mainly been there a long time.
