I always feel welcome here, and my children and I visit for quite a while, reading and making sure they get the perfect book (I know!!). It's a smallish library, but there's a great selection of books, and a good study area with all the reference books to hand. The computer terminals are all internet connected, you just need to get yourself a password. You're only allowed an hour online if there's a queue (and there often is), but hey it's free! The librarians are always friendly and helpful too. The only thing that's missing is Sunday opening and a coffee shop. ;-)

Only members of the University of Cambridge and Academic staff and research students from other universities can use it. Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from other UK universities can apply to access the Library for reference during Cambridge vacations. Even if you can't get in, it is worth having a wonder round the site to be impressed by the sheer size of it. And why not keep walking and have a look around the Sidgwick site of the University of Cambridge - home to the Arts Faculties of the University.
