They do tailoring and alterations; it is done in a reasonable amount of time as they do it in house and does not have to be sent out where you have to wait weeks before you get it back. Any alteration under $30 must be paid in cash. read more

The lady who works here is the rudest person I have ever encountered. I took a dress in to get the zipper fixed & the company I ordered it from is reimbursing me because the faulty zipper was their fault. I asked for a receipt in order to get the reimbursement from the company. The lady proceeded to tell me and I quote "it's not the companies problem, it's your problem because you're not careful sorry I tell the truth" excuse me?! I didn't ask for your opinion on if I was careful or not....also not to mention they charged me $58 to get a zipper fixed....highway robbery- take your business elsewhere terrible customer service. read more

I took 6 pairs of my jeans into this shop to get them hemmed. They used white thread and the lines were crooked. All the jeans were ruined. I could have done that myself and saved 6 pairs of jeans and $16 each. They also told me a lower price ($12) when I went in to inquire about the prices, and then charged me $16 when I dropped them off. $16 isn't too bad if the alterations matched the rest of the jeans and didn't look like a home ec experiment gone wrong. read more

HORRIBLE customer service!!!!! I came to the shop to have a designer dress altered. The gentlemen working in the shop were in the middle of fixing something and appeared to be bothered by the fact that they had to stop what they were doing to help me. After trying on my garment, in a room with no lock on the door, the person working there told me that the alterations that I was requesting would be very expensive, and that that dress was made for a taller women( duh!, I was there for tailoring). Giving him the benefit of the doubt, it's possible that his level of mastery wasn't evolved enough to tailor the piece, and that was his way of telling me. With that said, I found a local tailor who gladly accepted the dress and did a beautiful job. While the cost of the alterations were expensive, I was totally willing to pay for quality work! read more

My son brought a suite to get the pants hemmed and the sleeves on the coat shorted slightly. He went after school to drop the suite off and when he got home I noticed the ticket said $200. I was like that is ridiculous and asked my son what was being done to the suite. My son, who is 17, mentioned that the "Gentlemen" at the shop said the waist of the pants also needed to be brought in and the coat needed to also be brought in on the chest, in addition to the hem and sleeve shortening. So first life lesson here was that my son learned to pay more attention and that if you're not careful some people will try to take advantage of you. That's just the beginning though. I mentioned he dropped the suite off after school. Well, once I saw the $200 ticket, I immediately drove to the shop to get the suite. I'm guess 1.5 maybe 2 hrs had transpired between drop off and me arriving at the shop. I asked about the price and the suite and was told the alterations were very complicated and they had already started them. I asked to see it and the only thing they had done was cut the existing hem on the pants. I ask to get the suite back and that I would pay for the work they had done. I was told it would be $70 to get the suite back. I asked how that could be possible for just taking out a hem on a pair of pants. They didn't even do any sewing. I was told that it was an hour of work and the rate was $70/hr. When I asked how he could justify that price I was told that his rent was very high in the mall and he needed to pay his rent. I won't go into the back and forth that ensued from that, but I can summarize by saying I have never experienced a business with such lack of professionalism, customer service and decency. And I wish I would have known that this isn't the first time this tailor shop has done this. Read the other reviews. They have a history of taking advantage of people especially the young folks that come in there. My advice is to find another Tailor, this one is dishonest! read more

I've had only good experiences with Dandy. I don't know if it is the best around, but they do a good job and do it quickly. Also, the review above saying that there is $20 for using a credit card is not true - there is a $30 minimum for credit card use, but no fee. Also, I paid $32 to have the shoulders taken in and the sleeves shorted on a dress shirt, $50 to have one pair of pants let out in the waist/another hemmed, $32 or $36 to have 2 pairs of pants hemmed. That's three different trips - I am not sure about the detailed pricing there. read more

The woman working here was extremely rude and was not willing to answer simple questions about the alterations for my bridesmaid dress. I asked her if she could pin it in a different way and she told me, "Go pin it yourself, then," in an extremely rude tone. She quoted me $115 to hem my dress since it had three layers. I truly wish I could rate this lower; however, I hope this helps. My son's girlfriend had her prom dress shorten at this place. The man offered to make a bow tie and a pocket square from the material he would have left over. We finally received the bow tie and pocket square two days before the prom. The bow tie looked like a bow that you would put on a baby girl's head. He used an elastic band that my son was to put around his neck. The pocket square was nothing by chiffon gathered together and stitched. The man charged $70 to make the bow tie and pocket square. I promise you an elementary aged student could do such a job. We went to the shop to ask him to make it better. After over 1 hour of talking to this man he always said "NO", "this is custom made if you want a cheap tie go to China and get one". This man is Chinese and I am not not but I found it offensive that he should say such things. My wife and I went to a fabric store and bought some backing, took the left over material and made a bow tie that could actually tied. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FRUSTRATION AND LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLACE. read more

This place gets two stars instead of one solely because of their turn around time. I got my alterations done in 3 days. However, hemming two pants and taking in two jackets and shortening the sleeves costed me $200! The tailor argued with what I wanted. They also charge you a $20 fee just for using a debit or credit card. Outrageous. read more

My daughter went to get a cost estimate to have hem brought up on her prom dress. She left the dress with the man that worked there and told him she needed to ask me if it was ok and came and told me the price . I told her to go back and get the dress as we would be shopping around . She went back 15 minutes later and was told that he had already started taking the waist in . First off, he wasn't suppose to start work until approved and second, we only wanted the hem brought up ( dress was too long ) . I had to go in to the store and the man began telling me that he made the dress tighter and that I needed to pay . I refused since he wasn't suppose to do anything to the waist , not start work until my daughter came back with an approval of price, so he became angry , took scissors to her dress and started undoing what he had done and then handed the dress back. Then he had the nerve to tell me to never come back because he doesn't want bad customers !! Trust me , he doesn't have to worry about me every returning and I will warn everyone I know to stay away !!! Very unprofessional!!!!!! read more

Go after 2pm when the man is working. I agree with others' comments; the woman is not knowledgeable. The front zipper pocket in my "go to" pants and shorts is too short for the new phones. I took one pair in to make sure I was satisfied. I brought an old pair of pants he could use because I wanted the same material. I was pleased with the results so then brought my shorts to him. The first try for the shorts wasn't successful because the shorts also needed to be lengthened for the pocket to be long enough. I ended up having to pay an extra $15 to have the pocket redone but I can't complain because I should have refused to take the shorts when I wasn't happy. Instead I took them home and returned them a week or so later. To lengthen pockets (material had to be added) $15, to lengthen hem (material had to be added) $15. I think that's a reasonable price so I then had all my pants & shorts redone. I'm very happy with the results. read more

Unbelievably expensive and owner very rude. Took a long dress in to have hemmed and possibly taken in in the bust. After she gave a price of $68.00 for a straight machine stich hem, I told her I thought that was too much for a dress I paid $70 for and I thought I would do the hem myself. When I asked if she would take a look at the top of the dress (I knew I could not do that at home) she refused and said that I could do that myself too. I was really stunned at her rudeness and cannot believe that if she treats customers like this that she is still in business. I then took the dress to my dry cleaners (Elim Cleaners - Chatham) that also do alterations and was given a price of $18 for hemming the dress. That to me makes sense - not $68.
