Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels

Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels

(9 reviews)

Finding someone you trust to care for your fur babies while you're away isn't always easy,…read moreespecially when one of them is a senior dog with special needs. Thankfully, we found Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels! We were planning a trip and needed boarding for our two little troublemakers: Cooper, our 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who's partially deaf and requires daily medication, and Maya, our 8-year-old Chihuahua who's just a little spoiled. Okay, maybe a LOT spoiled! LOL! After searching for boarding facilities in our area, we came across Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels and were impressed by their excellent reviews. I reached out to Tom to check availability, and right from the beginning, I could tell this was a well-run operation. First off, Tom has an incredibly organized scheduling system! Thankfully, we contacted him a couple of months before our trip because he was already nearly booked. That alone should tell you something! He clearly explained what was required, how the boarding process worked, and what we could expect during our dogs' stay. What impressed me most was his genuine concern for the well-being of the animals entrusted to his care. When we arrived to drop off Cooper and Maya, the staff was just as wonderful. We were given a tour of the facility, including a large, grassy outdoor play area where the dogs get to spend time outside. The staff member carefully explained the daily routine, outdoor playtime, and feeding schedule. Nothing felt rushed, and all our questions were answered. One of our biggest concerns was Cooper's medication. At 14 years old, he's got a few extra needs, and we wanted to make sure his medication would be administered properly. Tom and his staff were more than accommodating, which was a huge relief. Of course, we missed our two little fur babies while we were gone, but knowing they were in capable, caring hands made our trip so much more relaxing. That's exactly what you want when trusting someone else with members of your family! And one last thing that's especially important to me. As a fellow military veteran, I always appreciate the opportunity to support a veteran-owned and operated business. Tom is a former service member, and it was an added pleasure knowing we were supporting one of our own. If you're looking for a clean, organized, professionally run boarding facility where the people genuinely care about your dogs, I highly recommend Irondog's Cottonwood Kennels! Thank you, Tom, and your entire staff, for taking such good care of Cooper and Maya. You've earned our trust, and we'll certainly keep you in mind for our future trips! Five stars and two paws up from Cooper and Maya!
