Dancing Goats is a cute cafe chain with decent coffee and food. On this day, I tried their summer matcha offering with cold foam. Unfortunately this was way too sweet for my liking, but other times I've ordered a regular coffee latte or iced coffee, and it's all been good. Not the greatest coffee, but not the worst. Price is also standard and service at the locations I've been to has been good too. I would visit Dancing Goats again when I'm adventuring in the area. read more

This place is conveniently located across the street from the Olympia Farmer's Market, which is nice so you can grab a coffee. We sat at the window which was nice but the seating is very limited at this location. I wasn't really crazy about the coffee. The flavor was too bold for my taste and that's not a bad thing- it's just not my thing. Didn't try any of the food but I don't think I'll be coming back because of that limited seating. I don't want to fill a seat and feel obligated to leave because others need a shot at them. I like to lounge around and soak in atmosphere, so this place kinda robs me of that. I hate not being able to say nice things because a place just isn't to my taste, but maybe it's up your alley, so don't let my opinion sway you if you really want to try it. read more

They didn't judge me when I said she wanted whip cream on her oat milk hot cocoa.... and then.... and THEN they put colorful sprinkles on it and wiped the rim of the cup for presentation. So after getting my hair done today I went to go support hello cupcake because their last day sadly is tomorrow but the line was like two blocks long so I hopped in my car headed to my favorite coffee shop in Tacoma but out the corner of my eye I saw another coffee shop I have and tried so skeeerd that's my tires people is I made a left hand turn to park and go try dancing goats coffee and I was not disappointed!! Dancing goats espresso bar has been open since 1986 and the name is based upon a legend out of Ethiopia please ask one of the baristas to tell you the legend. I ordered a non-traditional caramel macchiato, BATDORF & BRONSON roasters coffee with tasting notes of cherry , and spice, and it was something nice I followed up with their half off vegan breakfast sandwiches I always buy stuff on sale and try it especially if it's half off it's a good way to try product that was so tasty actually wanted to go back and buy the rest but I got too far away. I bought a few other items such as coffee bags, like tea bags but they're coffee I'm a truck driver so it's nice to have a good cup of coffee on the go when you can't get to a coffee store, I also purchased some of the some of their mints by Chehalis mints, these mints are smooth. Stopped by for a quick cup of coffee. The shop was small and didn't have a lot of seating, but it was very clean and bright. The service was friendly. The espresso was very very smooth. My sister ordered a 12 oz iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The 12 once comes with one pump of vanilla, which was perfect for her. She described it as a "dash of vanilla." I ordered a 12 oz dirty chai. It had a nice spice and was very light. However, it tasted a little watery once it cooled down and wasn't my favorite. Overall, not a bad joint! read more

It's quick and convenient and the staff is great but the price increases are not it. It seems you get additional charges for non dairy milk and if you want flavor added. I find myself avoiding coming now. You'll be paying more for a "large" here than what would be considered a medium anywhere else. Also I've asked on many occasions for the nutrition info for their vegan breakfast sandwich and no one has any answers. I've reach out to the company that sends them and no response. I was hitting a bunch of Olympia establishments last weekend. The Tacoma Volcano releases a "Best of Olympia" once a year usually around February or March. I bookmark a bunch of places usually and these little day trips are a lot of fun to make once a year to go to what is recommended by the newspaper and readers alike. Dancing Goats Espresso Bar made the list and I was in need of a coffee fix for the day. The coffee shop is located right across the street from the Olympia Flea Market so if you know where that is then locating this place should be pretty easy. At Dancing Goats I got a Iced Vanilla Latte which was great! It was nice and refreshing and provided the pick me up that I really needed! Service is relatively quick so if there is not a lot of activity (from the Flea Market) and you are on the go you can probably get in and out fairly quickly. read more

I love stopping in here for some much needed caffeine when I'm at The Farmer's Market since it's a quick walk over. The shop also has a lot behind the building for those just stopping in for coffee. The shop isn't huge so it can be tough to find seating on a weekend. They only have a few stools and a few tables. It's best as a take out coffee spot. In addition to brewed coffee and coffee beverages they also offer tea. My favorite thing to do is to grab some cookies from San Francisco Street Bakery and enjoy them with a warm coffee from Dancing Goats. It minimized the amount of time I had to spend in a public place, but allowed me not to sacrifice my favorite coffee. The cardamom latte is my great weakness. Now I have to go off coffee for awhile and maybe forever because my stomach hates me, and I'm gonna cry for the loss of this place most of all. We got an Americano & a regular cup of coffee to go, and those coffees were quite good. The guy working the counter was also very nice. I picked up a bag of beans as well that I had them grind for me. I told them it was for a French Press, so a coarser grind, but when I got home I discovered it was definitely not a coarser grind at all and he ground it for a regular drip coffee maker. Great coffee. Been buying coffee from these guys for over 10 years. However, they just recently upped their prices by a dollar or more. Well I was fine with that, I get that prices change. But they also cut the amount of shots that go with a 20oz drink. The extra shot cost a dollar and not 50 cents like most places. In long run, to get a 20z 3 shot latte that cost under 5 now cost close to $8. Besides that, always great customer service. It's right next to the farmers market that they have in spring and summer times. I know they are open on the weekends, don't recall them being open or b weekdays. I grew up in Seattle and my sister lived in Shelton for almost twenty years, but pretty much the only time I hit up Olympia was when I took the Greyhound to meet her. This last July my daughter and I visited family and friend in Seattle then headed to my sister's near Olympia and then spent the afternoon and evening in the city. One of the first stops (after Charley B's) was Dancing Goats, purely because I was insistent on not hitting any chain coffee or food locations on my trip. The fun name was pure entertainment bonus. I love coffee...now. But when I lived in Seattle, I hated it (it wasn't until I moved to SoCal that I started enjoying coffee). My business at coffee shops and espresso stands consisted of me drinking Italian sodas because no way in hell was I going to order any coffee. Blech (at the time). It all started in high school where we had a coffee stand in our cafeteria (I know, right? Yes, we were spoiled in Shoreline). Unsure what to get, I went with flavors of my favorite Snapple drink, kiwi strawberry. Love, love. Over they years it became my regular drink and I even bought the syrups and made it at home every now and then. Unfortunately, all the freaking coffee shops down here in SoCal don't even make Italian sodas. (ok, I take that back, only one independent one, Olivera's in Temecula does). So my sister and daughter and I walked into this dancing goats place and really, the last thing I wanted was coffee. Especially since I'd just had a very very sweet cupcake a few minutes before. I wanted something refreshing! Kiwi strawberry Italian soda it was! Many might wonder what the big deal is, but trust me, they can be mixed very very poorly and this place made it perfect. Enough syrup to give flavor but not to drown out the sparkling part (yay soda water). Yummy, yummy, kiwi strawberry Italian soda. We pretty much downed it quickly while sitting on our stools at the window. Friendly, nice small store, right by the Farmers Market.
