We only left bc my daughter wanted to switch to gymnastics. The teachers were great. Most of all, the owners were amazing. They were so authentic and it was clear they loved all the kids. It was very family oriented. It is a safe place, great set-up, and has close circuit cameras for parents to watch classes, in the lobby. I recommend it often to other parents. If my daughter ever switches back to dance, I will gladly drive 35 minutes to this place.

There is a very nice waiting area for parents with tv's to watch their kids while they practice as well as free wi-fi. If it is a nice day, there is a courtyard with fountains and benches. Having been going to FADS Katy for 4 months, and having gone to as many group classes as I can attend, my perspective has changed as I have learned more about ballroom dancing. When it comes to things we are not familiar with, beginners often over estimate their knowledge and skill level, and this is the problem with Yelp in general (crowd sourcing reviews and ratings to people who are generally not knowledgeable, or experts, about what they are talking about). At first I questioned the push for learning dances I had no initial interest in. But as I have gotten better at dancing in general, without knowing it, learning other dances besides the ones that I wanted to focus on has given me better control of my body, and understanding of the movements required to move across the dance floor. So while you may not be practicing the dance you want to specifically get better at, you become a better dancer, which makes it easier to learn, retain, and master any dance you focus on. The instructors and staff at FADS Katy are skilled at what they do, and if you put in the effort to learn and remember what they teach you, they will respond in kind, pushing you to become better at what you want to learn, reaching whatever goals you have. Their goals may or may not always align with yours, its a business. It is up to you to know what is your long term goal. But know that the path you think you want/need to take may not be the best way to get there. Luckily, its really only the introductory program where they show you the basics of the main dances. Once you complete that course, you get to choose what it is you want to focus on. For country dancing I recommending learning Two Step, Polka, and the Country Waltz. For latin dancing I recommend learning Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, and possibly Bachata. This is Texas after all. Every other Friday is a dance party with free food and booze for students and their guests. Get your party on.

My daughter had a hard time keeping up with the older girls. My youngest, had ballet classes, but half of the time was "playtime", jumping and running around. After we had several issues with billing and being overcharged, we decide to leave. We gave our 30-days notice as required, however they charged us for another month!! When we complained, we were told that they charge a new billing cycle despite de 30 days notice. Total rip off!! I ended up paying for 2 full months for classes that we were not getting anyways!! Take your business somewhere else. This place is shady to say the best!
