Super posh dance center. Came for a 90's/00's dance class with Dre. It was a high energy but low…read morepressure class. I really enjoyed the class and the studio that the class was held in. Our class was in studio #5. The sound system was good. Unsure if I loved the floors, but they worked good for this class. Ample spacing for our class which had nearly 2 dozen participants. The space it self is really comprehensive. I saw multiple bathrooms and a gender-neutral bathroom. There is at least 5 separate dance spaces. Each space was arranged depending on dance style. I saw a room with several barre. The general area also boosted several areas to just chill while waiting on a loved to finish a class. On this day...all the kiddos were taking classes. So many little one excited to take their dance classes. It was cute because this little girl kep staring at our class through the window. Highly recommend seeing all the offerings at this dance center. I was surprised by the many offerings they have. I want to try a beginner hip-hop but we will see. Tip: Parking is located around the building on street. Mostly free but get there with time to look. I found it easier to just park off Belmont and walk.

I sent an inquiry from the website and because of COVID, I wasn't sure if they were open and what their hours would be. They were very responsive and got back to me quickly. I can't say anyone but me was very excited about the idea of dance lessons. However, by the middle of the session, we were all into it. Teresa took any awkwardness out of it and we were having fun. Then about two weeks before the wedding, my husband actually suggested that he and I go back for a private lesson! Teresa was very accommodating and helped us out. She even recorded us, sent us a list of good songs to practice with, and gave us tips to work out with the DJ specific to the wedding. I should also add that the studio itself also impressive. It is very clean and well kept. The floors are in great condition and beautiful glass and mirrored walls. I highly recommend Sway Dance Chicago for private and group lessons. The owners of the studio, Gino and Elmo, as well as the variety of staff teachers have a lot to do with that. They have fostered a wonderful positive culture here at Supreme and it really pays off. If you're looking for a place to send your kids to get into hip-hop choreography, Supreme is my number one recommendation in the Chicagoland area. They deal with young children to high schoolers, so as long as your kid is old enough to walk and talk and young enough to not be able to legally buy lottery tickets, you can send them here! I myself am NOT a kid, contrary to popular belief, so you might be wondering what exactly Supreme has to offer since it's primarily a place for youth instruction. Well, the studio is a top-tier choice for various pop-up classes, workshop sessions, and team rehearsals due to their low rates, accessibility, and fantastic customer service. This place is like home to me because of the hundreds of rehearsals and classes I've been to here. It can also be rented out for non-dance events as well; just inquire about it. The one downside of the studio is the neighborhood. This isn't a problem with the studio itself, but the neighborhood is extremely uptight and FREQUENTLY makes noise complaints to the Skokie police when stuff goes past a certain time. The neighbors have been super problematic from my experience and kind of frustrating; it's not a nice experience when the cops are showing up once a month because of a noise complaint. Can't really do much about this though; the boomers just need to deal with it. You will not find a better recommendation from me for a youth dance studio in the area. My daughter had no problem switching over for tap and ballet. The education is based on the Cuban/Alonso Method and really focuses on dancers using their bodies athletically with balance and minimum harm. The parents have been welcoming, unlike our last school where no one spoke or smiled. Finally, there are two programs a year, and the costuming is included in the fees. Judith, who runs the front desk, does a darling job with the costumes. Also, if you are looking for it there is an ongoing adult ballet class (drop-in) as well.

The studio was also very understanding and accommodating when we had to postpone our final dance class several weeks due to some personal circumstances. The prices are extremely reasonable. If you are looking for a good beginner dance class before your wedding, would highly recommend. Street parking in the area can be hit or miss but we never had to drive around the block more than a few times to find a spot nearby.
