I love the Dance Element as an adult dancer (kids there seem happy too). As an adult, dance…read moreenthusiast, it can be hard to find a place to take dance, especially if you are a beginner or near beginner. The Dance Element welcomes all abilities. I take adult tap and it is a blast and the class is enriched by having dancers of all skill levels.

Let's me start by saying that if you're not already signed up at The Dance Element - call Now to…read moresign up for yourself or your kids. Having been a student of dance for many years and as a patron and lover of dance, theatre and art, The Dance Element is head and shoulders above everything I've encountered short of Broadway in NY. Wilmington NC is lucky to have this gem. You can't imagine the care and thought that goes into every class, into the students well-being and into their showcase productions. The Dance Element owner is an extremely talented dancer in her own right with an amazing gift to help students learn to dance, have fun, master choreography and as a bonus build strong foundations to live confident lives. From a production/show point of view - I've had the pleasure of seeing productions from the audience's perspective and have been in awe of the beauty of how it all comes together. Recently, I've been able to see behind the scenes as the recent Christmas showcase "The Grinch" is coming to life. The set designs are spectacular, the artistry and creativity of the owner is nothing short of award winning. Her passion comes through every detail - she wants her students and their families to have the best experiences and she delivers on that promise. There's a tremendous amount of work that goes into developing a theme, creating the beautiful choreography, set designs that bring the story to life, lights, music and overall production but The Dance Element wouldn't do it any other way. This is not a cookie cutter dance studio. Hands down the best studio I've ever come across!

My first class at dance pros N&V was a really good one. The instructors Eduardo and Vlad were…read moreskilled, kind and patient. I had some basics down already. So they helped me out with sanduchito, forward and backward ocho, and polishing off the footwork. Sam was friendly and a great to watch. She is a very experienced dancer to observe. Looking forward to dancing with these folks again.

He does it all, and I'm so lucky to be a student of his. If you want to connect with a loved one, with new friends, etc, this is the way. And Davis will have you looking and feeling fabulous, without feeling like you have to choose between dance and paying rent. Endlessly grateful. Hope everyone gets a chance to dance like that.

Incredible! Davis & Emily are SO skilled at teaching! They both have such an amazing background of…read moreALL kinds of dance.....but the way they teach is just beyond amazing. I just can't say enough about the whole experience! They also have a GREAT in- home studio (private and perfect place to learn with plenty of space!). They worked with both my husband and I, and within each 1-hour lesson gave us both what we needed to grow as dancers. I had a lot of dance background in Latin, WCS & Country; but over the years accumulated LOTS of bad habits. They helped me return to strong basics & improved my balance, ability to follow (connection) AND gave me advanced tips on ladies variations/shaping/footwork/styling. They spent time with my hubs (learning to dance for me (US!) bless his heart!). They helped him with learning WCS, plus other dances so we had variety depending on music. They kept things simple & SUPER EASY to understand for a beginning dancer. Including help with musical timing & understanding more than 'just the steps'. They focus on timing but also specifics of being a good LEADER - building his ability to (in the future) learn any dance and lead 'anyone' with amazing stability AND grace! Couples dancing is ALL about the connection & they really know how to communicate this for lead + follow. They do choreography as well, if you're wanting a wedding/special event dance.

Great birthday party at Gymnastics Unlimited!…read more My daughter and her friends had a great time! They were able to play for an hour on the equipment, supervised by 2 very sweet coaches. We then had about 45 minutes to open presents and eat cake, which was plenty of time. Great experience and the service was excellent. (Only recommendation: the facility is out-dated and could use a refresh; very much a vibrant 80's vibe!)

Instructors are outstanding but management is terrible…read more We endured a leaking roof, rodents, a summer with restrooms that were out of order, and the gym retaliating against an elementary school aged child. Management sent am email to parents notifying them that a coach was on probation for violating gym and AAU rules. Multiple families were upset and wanted to know more but gym was offended and refused to give an adequate explanation because they were not "legally required to". Gym retaliated against a child by kicking her out of the gym for parents inquiry into the violations.

Other than the skates and rollerblades, you can use scooters, sit down seat cars, and they have training walkers to help you skate. What I don't like about it is the bathroom situation. There are no mirrors and the sinks are outside of the bathroom. The bathrooms are also falling apart. They really need a remodel of the set up here including getting different tables than all booths. It is a great place for a birthday party, though or if you just want to go for a night out skating.

Private Axe Throwing Party was AWESOME!!…read more WHAT FUN! They have a really great (SAFE) facility that has LOTS of space (we plan to go back for some paintball fun!). It's really a class-act setup & a fabulous 'different' experience which made for a great party! We booked a party, which on Mon-Wed they are closed & it's only private parties (not sure if this is year round or just the winter hours?); but it was GRAND having the WHOLE PLACE to ourselves! We just had 8 people for an 18th b-day party & we could easily have had another 4-6 people with the room they have for axe-throwing. The Axes area is a nice size but also cozy, almost like a neat 'bar' environment. *FYI-it is BYOB-no liquor* We brought wine for adults & sparkling juice for the teens. 3 boys, 1 girl and 4 adults.....we ALL had so much fun! $249 isn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. 90-minutes (which the fabulous gentleman who was there for us did not start our time until all safety briefing & instruction time was over) of throw time was MORE than enough, the last 10 minutes you could tell it was time to go eat, so more than 90 min would just have been too much. There are 3 high-top tables with 4 chairs each. There are 5 throwing lanes. Each lane has mesh metal screens on the sides and thick wood-paneled walls. The targets (which I read about on their site) are really amazing, the thicker blocks they use vs. cheaper boards make the axe's stick GREAT and easily for almost any throw-er. The 'games' are projected onto the boards and have score keeping that is fun & easy (like a bowling alley) with a PC mouse & keypad. The gentleman who was there for our party experience was fantastic, even came in a few times & showed us different throw-angles to try and (as a 'mom') I felt safe that he was keeping an eye on everything too. Super nice and accommodating gent - helped make our evening even more fun! Helpful tip: If you go at night, the sign is currently not lit, so it's RIGHT after Black's Tire/Goodyear. The parking lot is dark, but you'll see the lights inside are on! OH - take snacks & drinks for your party, also any plates or utensils - they only have the tables/seating & the entertainment!

Crossfire Does It Again!…read more Crossfire gets better and better every time I visit. They rebuilt after the hurricane, a beautiful new interior for paintball and nerf. After COVID, they added GellyBall. And now, AXE THROWING! I had never thrown axes before and it was easy to get the hang of enough to have fun. Also, the computer projects different games onto the wooden target so you never get bored. I went with just one other person but this would be a blast for a group - co-workers, friends, bachelor/bachelorette party, school organization, fraternity/sorority outing. No limits.
