We had tons of questions and decisions about what best matched the original look of the windows from our 1939 house. We finally decided on what windows we wanted replaced and put down a deposit. A second team member came out weeks later to confirm the measurements. And some weeks after that, the installation team of Juan and Erik came out to do the install. (They even started by doing the measurements a third time to make sure everything was correct! And it was.) They had told us that the job might take the whole day, but they carefully removed the old ones, installed the new ones and cleaned up afterward in only about six hours. It was a flawless experience. Everyone we dealt with was extremely kind, warm and knowledgable. And the new windows look stunning - while still matching the look of the almost 90-year old home. Universal Iron Doors has been a dream to work with from beginning to installation. Starting off in…read morethe showroom they have so many options, something for everyone and every situation. There are LOTS of doors on display so Enrique Marquez, sales rep, explained the various options and details to us. After that he let us wander around and peruse on our own, no pressure, just let us know where he would be when we needed him. Once we narrowed our choices down he walked us through the inventory and the available options and timelines for in stock and custom orders. Enrique told us how to measure our doorways, so we did that when we got home and emailed him the info. He had CAD drawings prepared from the info and sent them to us for approval. The invoices and payments were also handled online. Enrique walked us through the entire process. Anytime I had a question or issue he was right there to help out. Even during installation. We ended up ordering an in stock and custom door (due to odd size). For the in stock door, I received a call to schedule installation immediately! The lady that called said she likes to schedule them as soon as she receives the order and she wasn't lying. We scheduled installation for 5 weeks out, which is reasonable. Then 1 week later, on a Friday, she called back and asked if they could install on Monday. I said Yes! The installation team, Vahe and Ahot, showed up on Monday as scheduled and did an absolutely FANTASTIC job!! The door looks soooooo good!! They communicated well, also noticed that the lock was missing on the order and helped me get that corrected with Enrique. They were very respectful of keeping the area clean, making sure everything was clean and all trash/debris removed when they left. So glad I kept digging on Yelp and Google because finding him was a game changer. He repaired some of our window boards that had rot, termite damage, and were coming loose, and did an excellent job. He returned all texts and phone calls promptly, was on time for all appointments, came with the proper tools and was able to do any and all the things I needed in setting up my apartment: furniture assembly, hanging pictures and curtains, putting some odd decor items in place and repairs to stuff that needed just that to continue their life. But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

They kept me updated about my appointment, right up to the day of the work when they notified me that Robert could come early. That worked fine for me.
