I was a little sad because I paid $10 per person for a 1 hour paddleboard session, which in my opinions, is the cheapest deal I've seen! The owner, Mike, was so kind to email and text me to let me know what had happened. He was super nice!! He said that he would give me a full refund for the two tickets that I purchased, and also, give me free kayak rentals since there was a bit of a dilemma. I took up on that offer, emailed Mike, and made reservations to do a tandem kayak for an hour on a Sunday at noon. Mike is all about customer service and wants to make customers satisfied so he offered to throw in another hour for free! My sister and I got to the beach, with the help of Mike's perfect directions, and we laid out for about an hour. We got side street parking! (FREE!) Mike came 2 minutes before noon and unloaded our kayaks. He was so nice to give us some ziplock bags to put our phones in so they don't get wet. My sister and I had a blast! Although it was a bit windy so we were going against the wind! We kayaked for about an hour and 15 minutes. Too bad we couldn't do the two hours. It is definitely a great arm workout! Once we were done, I just texted Mike and docked our kayaks on the beach and that was it! I would definitely come here again! Hope you get your kayaks back soon!! The kayak and paddleboard rentals are affordable, and signing the waiver online beforehand makes check-in quick and easy. The water route is beautiful and scenic. Just be mindful of the shallow grassy areas, as my paddleboard fin got stuck a couple of times. I'd also recommend bringing hand sanitizer or tissues, since the bathrooms were occasionally out of soap or toilet paper. If you can, use the restroom inside the Aquatic Center building instead. Overall, it's a fun, scenic spot that's open year-round, and I'd definitely recommend it!

We saw many happy folks paddling in their water craft though, and large groups who, I'm assuming, went out on tours. We saw plenty of teams coming and going who keep their equipment there. Their restrooms are located on the side of the building and are open to the public. The reason we came to NAC is that they offer a perfect launch spot for paddle sports. This area of Newport Back Bay is very calm and leads into the estuary. It's a beautiful place to paddle, with abundant bird life and waterfowl, as well as "flying" fish, and no doubt an abundance of marine life below the surface. Besides being a launch point, many families with young children also appreciate the calm water here. The area between beach and boundary can be swum in and is quite shallow. As a side note, once out on the water beyond this boundary, one cannot swim or exit their paddle craft. There is a parking lot for NAC but there's also a large dirt lot for visitors, for the amazing price of $0! Great access, beautiful wetlands, calm waters...this is a perfect place for all types of paddlers, nature enthusiasts, and families looking for a quieter alternative to the beach.

I called this "business" before I bought a Groupon to be sure they had availability and were able…read moreto accommodate us the next day. I was told that there was one spot left from 10:00 a.m. - noon, so I went ahead and bought the Groupon then made the reservation. Be aware, the office where you book reservations is in LA and there is no office on site, so if there is a problem such as NO ONE SHOWS UP TO MEET YOU, you'll be on the phone trying to find out what the heck is going on. We loaded a cooler and six of us headed to the location. First of all, that area has a ton of construction going on and knowing where to park is not easy at all. Once you are parked, it's difficult to know exactly where to walk to get to where you're supposed to be. I took a few pics of the blue gazebo which is sandwiched in the center of all the duffy boats, but there is no clear signage telling you that that is where you're supposed to go. When I got a hold of the office gal at 10:05 and told her no one was her to meet us, she wanted me to call back and leave that information on their answering machine so that the owners could hear that the employee who was supposed to meet us didn't show up. Maybe they didn't trust her word for it - I don't know. I thought it was unprofessional to ask a customer who's already unhappy to be waiting to do that, but whatever...I guess if it could help them get their business in order, I'd do it. Two more calls into the LA office later, our guy FINALLY shows up at 10:45 to put us in our 10:00 boat. They gave us a bigger boat for our trouble, and we ended up having a good time once we got going. It just left a sour taste in our mouths and we definitely would not use this company again. Note to the owners: You might want to add some information perhaps with photos about where to park and where EXACTLY to go to get on the boat. A confirmation email with this information would be great, but at minimum I think it should be on your website. Also, knowing that your employee "had a rough night and overslept" making us embark an hour late, it sure would have been nice to receive some sort of follow up apology via phone call or email. If you had a teensy customer service bone in your process, you'd at least have contacted me to see if we enjoyed the experience once it going. Your lack of follow up leaves me thinking that you really don't care about your business, so why should your potential customers?

They offer coupons and groupons and vouchers and savings and sales for really great prices but after you get all excited and load the car and kiddies and arrive to find.... Nothing. Like everyone else here you call and call and call and call. Voicemail is always full and can't leave a message. Leaving callback numbers is a wasteful button press. Do yourself a favor and run. Run as far and as fast as possible.
