They were having a 2 scoop for one special so, of course, I had to get 2 scoops in a regular cone. All added up, it was I think $2.25... a deal for deliciousness. The very sweet employee told me that their ice cream was from Oakmont but they were changing to another that I forgot the name. The store is surprisingly big and bright, with a large, long case full of all sorts of sugary treats. There was a wide assortment of filled chocolates and other kinds of chocolate candies. The middle of the store has several shelves of wrapped novelty candies, gummies and hard candies, gift items, and greeting cards. At the front there is also a small ice cream case for hand-dipped cones and sundaes. My attention diverted to a case with one of my favorite sweet treats--the fudge case. There were at least ten fudge flavors, or so. I asked if I could get a quarter-pound small box with a piece of three flavors I'd like to try, to which the very kind counter attendant happily obliged. I selected the cherry nut, peanut butter, and strawberry cheesecake flavors. I also purchased a funny greeting card for my brother's upcoming birthday. When my husband and I were back in our room later, the fudge did not disappoint! It was creamy, fresh and flavorful, with a little bit of the super-sweet treat going a long way! I was very pleased with my candy and card purchase from Dan Smith's, and would gladly stop by again the next time we are in cute lil' Clarion PA. I'm a big Reese's peanut butter cup fan, but these are something special! There was a vast array of boxed chocolate, and also a by-the-pound chocolate counter, and a nut counter. I found this shop utterly charming - it's so refreshing to find a different brand of chocolate that sticks to tradition but also keeps up with current trends; I walked out with some Peanut Butter Meltaways and also some sea salt caramels. They also do molds of Punxsutawney Phil, the elusive mascot of neighboring Punxsutawney. I wish they had shops closer to NYC, but I'll be back! And, they do internet sales!

They are open into the fall season. If it's before Memorial Day or after Labor Day I always call to ensure they are open. I was not able to "check in" when I visited the store over the weekend.
