At Shirey's suggestion, we used TimberTech Azek boards and found a MAXI version in Coastline grey. We're now done except for the custom railing on order, and couldn't be happier. Lead carpenter Bryan is a deck mastermind who was great at figuring out sound, good-looking solutions to our issues. Both he and fellow carpenter Jeromy were highly skilled and efficient, left the work site immaculate at the end of every day and were also just nice to have around. We like the results so much we added fascia and new board for our catwalks to the original agreement. Shirey's inside staff -- coordinator Ashley and bookkeeper Brenda -- are equally great, and especially good at timely, clear communication. We look forward to using Shirey Home Pro again and highly recommend them.

We have been very happy with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for other projects in the future.

Their plan looked wonderful, and after a month we had a few questions. After meeting with a ton of other contractors, we established a few questions we never thought of before we started this project. They told us that we would have a ton, and they would be very happy to help us. We are going to spend a lot of money, and wanted to make sure that the money we were going to spend was going to the right people. We asked the same 12 questions to the other contractor and they got back to us within a few days. I do not feel the questions were out of line, but apparaently they did not want to answer them. Look we are getting into a large project. Full kitchen and two bathrooms with a 1800 sq ft home getting its hardwoods completely restained and sanded. We got an email saying that they had been out of town, after a week of not hearing from them. After that never heard from them again. Still, have never heard from them. We emailed, and texted them many times. Nothing. I understand life happens, and things happen. However I have been in customer service most of my life, and if something happens you let your customers know why you cannot or will not be able to respond. After excellent service, there was no follow through, and after telling us, we would have a ton of questions, and they would be happy to answer any of them, they never did.

The original wood stair that I had built by a neighborhood handyman started to deteriorate in just a couple years - wobbly, creaky, with split stringers. I put out a request for quotes on Yelp and Michael was very responsive and was able to come out on a weekend day for the estimate and start the work right away. His original estimate turned out to be low because the stair was in worse shape than either of us realized. But he kept me well-informed all along the way as to what he was finding. For convenience I paid him for the materials and it didn't appear that he marked those up at all. The angle of the stair is very awkward, fitting in between a raised garden bed, a stone retaining wall and a neighbor's fence. But Michael managed to pour a tiny concrete pad to support the stair and navigate all the obstacles. The finished stair is so much more sturdy than the original and should last for years! Michael is an honest young man trying to get his business started in a new state. He works long and hard (he stayed on the job until after 11pm one night!) and he'll go the extra mile to make sure his customer is satisfied.

I'm buying a home in Seattle and the concrete front steps were completely crumbled. In fact, my lender's appraiser would not approve my loan unless the steps were replaced before closing. And despite not giving them very long to complete the job, Braden managed to finish up in time for the appraiser to approve the work so my loan could close on time. . . Perfect example of grace under fire. Best of all, the finished product is beautiful! I feel badly for the people who've had negative experiences with Braden in the past, but my experience was top-notch. I'm glad I didn't read the Yelp reviews before hiring them; I might've missed out on the opportunity to work with a contractor who's been the definition of a true professional!

They gave me a good bid for fiber cement board siding. I will admit some problems were due to my communication errors; and another challenge was I was not in the state when the project was going on unfortunately. So I appreciate their efforts to accommodate me when I requested pictures of the project progress. one error I made was a wrong paint color and I appreciate that they did not charge me extra for correcting my error. There were however, problems with returning my exterior fixtures back to the locations that they were before the project began (flag mount hose mounts, solar lights, circuit breaker box ground wire covers) I think my feedback for them for their future work, would be to take video or pictures pre and post and compare to make sure everything is cleaned up and returned as expected (so The customer doesn't have to bring it up to them).

But then in a week later he contacted me since they had someone cancel. So they could fit me in! They sent their tile guy named Bob to do the job. I loved Bob. He was on time, kept the work space tidy and was just a nice guy to have around. Talk about attention to detail. Because i live in a small apartment with no place to cut tile, he had to cut off site. Pros: Workmanship Cons: Management did not order various items for the project including kitchen sink, drawer pulls, faucet, hood, shelves. I had to scramble on Amazon at the last minute. Project manager did not oversee budget effectively, aiding in a 50% overage in total cost Project manager was not able to answer questions about labor and scheduling, often telling me he didn't have a say in the Project Lead's schedule. His short temper was evident during a few of these exchanges. There were labor omissions in the quote that helped lead to the 50% overage in total cost. If you choose to go with this company, you should look very closely at the estimate. Make sure there is clear communication about who is doing what and when. I found them lacking in communication and organization at the management level. Henry, the project lead was professional and did a terrific job.
