I received my CDL through Dalys Trucking School. I attended weekend classes and all my instructors were great. Adam, Shane, Jorge Sarge, and Dustin were all great instructors. Each of them genuinely cared about the students and did everything they could to ensure we succeeded. Each week I learned more and had plenty of time to practice my pre-trip, maneuvers, and road driving. When it was time for me to take my test, I passed with flying colors. Sadly after a recommendation from a co worker. This business was unprofessional and highly racist. I sent my brother here with hope of a great experience and they literally looked at him and decided to treat him like a convict. I couldn't believe what he told me so I went for myself and experienced the same unprofessional behavior. Stephaine and I spoke previously over the phone and she wouldn't even come out to speak to me directly. She sent Jeff the director of the driving school classes and he was very respectable and professional. He was the only one that took the time to listen. We lost 600$ but was offered to continue class. I understand business and the no refund policy but this was truly the lack of them wanting to deal with my brother, lack of communication no customer service principles of the business at all. Unfortunately the damage was already done. My brother felt uncomfortable due to the harsh and racist treatment he received. It was not a good feeling either way as the receptionist wouldn't even look me in the eye when we spoke. Let alone was walking and talk to me and rushing out the door as she left. And had the nerve to get loud with me as I stood at the front patiently waiting. Nicole, Nancy are so rude. It's sad that times are already hard enough but trying to help folks get back on tract and instantly disregarding them based off there appearance and not even giving folks the opportunity to speak and be respected not matter how they look. Daly's has only one male toilet for the entire student body. As an instructor, i turned down multiple job offers from students. As a result, they complained to management who didn't want to hear my story. In addition, too many colored students were passing and getting their CDL because of me. Management didn't like that so I quit. One thing I noticed was that if a student was deserving of a first time pass , they would fail the student to prolong the testing process to get more money out of them. read more

Went there for my CDL-A. No issues. Showed up, learned how to pre-trip, maneuver in the yard, and drive on the road. I passed on my first attempt and now have my CDL. Good school and it was quick. My GI-Bill paid for most of it. Highly recommend! read more

These reviews are all you need to consider when your looking for a school that only wants your money. Jeff "Director of Daly's" will convince you that' "Your just being nervous & the system that they have works" but, some how they still have students that fail & HAVE TO PAY 150$ to retake the test. If the system works no one would fail. I will say the staff are rude as hell & the instructors quit a lot! This multi million dollar company hires their employees & doesn't offer them any health benefits!! Haha lol, Now tell me that Daily's care about there students when they don't even give a rat sh!t about the health of their staff. Not to mention we don't get that much seat time to properly learn & get these driving maneuvers down packed. But they insist on making us study a pre trip for 8 out of 10 hours the 2nd week out of 5 days. DAILYS WILL NOT allow you to work on any of your weaknesses when it comes to driving. This school is a joke & only care about money. It speaks with the no refund policy & these their health benefits. I regret NOT going to GA DRIVING ACADEMY IN CONYERS, GA. I thought Daly's would be a nice convenent school to get to since it was located Buford. I recently attended the school and was unable to complete the program due to a personal health emergency. I was told by Kathy who is the rudest person in the world, that I could return and start where I was. I paid 1800 dollars down and was advised that I could make the rest in payments. When I attempted to return, I was then shoved away as if this was not the conversation had with Kathy. She also advise that they reported this to my credit via their credit agency and that was not true. Today, with all 3 credit bureaus, I do not have this listed on my credit.I have been given the run around and told different stories by both ladies that work in the local office in Buford. Kathy, however is one of the nastiest, meanest, no customer service person you would ever want to speak too. She does not follow and type of standard business practices or policies. When asked for Daly's policy on reporting to someones credit, she could not produce such a policy and refused to speak to me on the phone. I recevied no phone calls about having a bad debt or letters in the mail. When confronted about my services not being rendered, and a refund of the difference (minus their 900 enrollment fee) I was advised that they could not do this.I ask if they could apply the credit to a new enrollment and the other representative stated that they would, after speaking with Kathy she then returned and stated that she would not and refused to take my call. This school is ripping people like me off, they do not want to provide any documentation or accountability for stealing from consumers who are just trying to get ahead. I do not have much and should not be taken advantage of like this. I would not recommend this school to anyone. Having a standard for refunds, business practices and a proper escalation process should be crearly stated on this companies website. As of today, I am still out of my money. read more

The most disrespectful staff I have ever had to deal with. Seeing the other negative reviews I should have known, and giving them the benefit of the doubt was even worse. Money hungry business to easily put it. My mother's first language is Korean so of course there has been miscommunications and barely any clarifications. I have talked to the staff here specifically Stephanie the school director and others, only have felt disrespect the whole time. My family and family's friends run a trucking business so we are fairly familiar with trucking permits, license and obtaining it. Greatly enough my mother was able to pass the pre inspection and maneuver test but failed the road test once (in October). In that time frame they have rescheduled the test twice which means she had to wait 3-4 months without being able to complete her Class A test. Considering the permit gives you 6 months to get pass all tests my mother ended up renewing her permit for another 6 months. 2nd issue, be prepared to wait... and wait,, and wait. The classes are long hours because 80% of it you are just standing there and waiting with 20% actual hands on lessons. My mother cried there multiple times more than learning, they emotionally drain the hell out of you because its like talking to rocks with a side of major attitude. Plus the amount of times they just say what they want to say then hang up on you and before you can even say thank you is unbelievable. Can't tell if they racist and look down on you or just plain rude, you can feel the condescending attitude. read more

I urge all who have gone to this school to double check that they are not over charging you. I questioned the balance owed and received an email stating your balance is the balance without any explanation. Both office personal Stephanie and Kathy lack proper business etiquette and and are running Daly's like a run down mom and pop shop. Reflecting back to my experience with Daly's the only good thing going for them is that you can be in and out in about 3 weeks. Other than that equipment is trash. Trainers are decent but they don't teach real world scenarios. The methods they teach you aren't practical for passing the DDS test nor becoming a driver in the real world. YOU WILL RELEARN ONCE YOU LEAVE DALYS. I gave 2 stars because at the end of the day I can't knock the fact that they can get you up and running in about 3 weeks but other than that this company is subpar at best. read more

I enrolled at Daly's in May 2017 for their Class A CDL training program. I was making an industry change so I went in with ZERO knowledge, having to learn basically everything from the ground up. This is an accelerated course, where you learn a lot of material in a very short period of time. My class began with about 20 people, I think we graduated about 12 so there is a big attrition rate. Daly's combines classroom training with actual road driving and basic maneuvers (parallel parking, straight line backing and 90 degree alley dock). All of the instructors are excellent, they will work with you up and down every day until you master each maneuver. Literally every single thing you will test on at DDS is covered at Daly's. That being said, YOU have to put the work in. Commercial truck drivers have a tremendous amount of responsibility on the road and if you don't take it seriously, you'll fail. I think the instructors at Daly's understand this and challenge you...but if you put your head down and follow their instructions YOU WILL PASS YOUR EXAM AT DDS. Daly's also works with 20-30 different trucking companies and will assist you with job placement. Many of the company recruiters (Schneider, TMC, Transport America etc) even come to Daly's and will present to your class and streamline the application process for you. I graduated in late June, passed my CDL exam in early August and was hired the same month. Don't think it's going to be "easy"...it's not. Don't think you can get there late and leave early and pass...you can't. Don't think there isn't extensive class work or that you won't have homework...you will. But bottom line, you can invest two months of your time and $3500 and turn that around for a job where you can earn $45k+ first year. There's just not a lot of opportunities like that out there. I'd absolutely recommend Daly's to anyone thinking about getting into this industry. read more

One of the important things prospective students need to understand is the difference between a vendor school intended to refresh experienced drivers and a college intended to train inexperienced drivers. Daly's fits in the former category. Most of their students already have some degree of driving experience with commercial trucks even if they have not yet been licensed. In many cases, a driver who has left his career but allows the time to expire on his CDL license but wishing to return to truck driving oftentimes has to go through a school like Daly's unless he has access to his own truck or chooses to rent from Penske. Of course, there are factors to consider in the state regulations regarding mandatory testing which a school like Daly's can provide. An experienced driver can also choose an eight hour refresher course with Daly's should he not need any extended training. For those students who are inexperienced should avoid Daly's! And here are the reasons why: Daly's is focused primarily to provide nothing more than the federal and state minimum requirements, one of such being five hours of drive time. They are not concerned as to whether the student can actually drive by the time they graduate. Their curriculum does not elaborate on the essential details that the local technical colleges offer. They go by stopping points as directives for backing maneuvers. Any decent company which trains their own will tell you that a driver cannot learn how to back solely on stopping points. Any Daly's instructor who has deviated from the method has been admonished for it by the head faculty. Students need to learn how the trailer maneuvers with the truck, how it drifts with each steer at different speeds. There is simply not enough training for inexperienced drivers, and many students find themselves frustrated in continual test retakes at DDS. Just short of 50% of each class passes DDS on the first attempt! Many students do not pass until the third retake, and some retake as much as ten times. Although, employers always provide a trainer during the probationary period (with some as much as six months), they are aware of the potential dangers of a student possessing nothing more than three weeks training! The best companies to work for will hardly consider someone with such minimal experience. Daly's will host company recruiters at lunch time who make grand promises, and sometimes there is the occasional visit by a so-called former student who is doing well in the industry (just ask them if they had prior experience before attending Daly's). The big companies train their own students but they cannot consider a student who is already enrolled in a different school (something students need to be aware of). Oftentimes these big companies give new drivers lousy routes in the first year or two. Inexperienced students in the end would be wise to consider the local technical colleges around Atlanta which offers eight solid weeks of training. Other than that, Daly's is a decent school for experienced drivers. The main instructor has quite the sense of humor and does well covering the entire CDL manual (note: for permit tests students should practice at www.driving-tests.org), however, having his strong military background he can seem intimidating and demanding or even disrespectful at times. The other instructors are overall pleasant, each having a unique personality to help complement different students with different learning styles. Because students are divided into small groups rotating between different instructors this allows every student to learn from each instructor, however, this can also be disadvantageous if a particular student performs better with a certain instructor or much poorly with another. Their office staff is usually friendly and patient, although, they are adamant about students not contacting the school while waiting for testing at DDS. They can speak very sternly and disrespectful over the phone. Be aware, students generally wait two weeks after finishing the school before they take their test at DDS. If they fail, they can wait up to another two to three weeks before retaking. Daly's does not allow for any practice during this waiting period unless the student has failed twice - and they can only practice on that specific problem area. Daly's could greatly improve by extending the training up to the point of testing, as well as customizing their curriculum to each student's needs. There should also be a greater level of honesty toward inexperienced students, though it is not required by law it is only ethical to do so. The quality of their facility is somewhat lacking. The seats are uncomfortable and the restrooms are hardly maintained. They do not employ janitors. The training course needs a much longer lane designed to teach students how to shift. All in all, it is somewhat shady money hungry company, prospective students need to carefully discern whether this is the right school for them. read more
