Me and my wife shopped for the first time at this Gerrity's Ace hardware store in Clark's Summit…read more After we found the items we needed we went to check out. My wife questioned the price published against what the cashier charged and the cashier said "listen lady I don't handles the prices here and can't help you". My wife was in tears when we got to the car, so aggressive and unprofessional. It was an insignificant amount, but to me that wasn't the point. If a store misleads, that's isn't right. Plus and young cashier being rude. I returned to the store and requested to speak with the manager and asked the cashier if she could join us. He said it was just a communication problem and I disagreed. I recommended to the manager a better approach in the future for his employees to take such as "I sorry ma'am, let me get someone who can help with getting the price straight" but he exploded and said I was insulting him as if he he couldn't take any advice. I was trying to help a young manager improve things. But he threatened to not help me and asked me to shut up. I will never shop here. The manager there was very condescending and wasn't going to take advice. I now understand why the employees treat customers like they do. Horrible service and I will never shop at this store again.

I have always been pleased by the customer service I receive at this store but this time they really devoted a lot of time to make sure they had it right. Thanks guys!

Just wanted to double-down on my previous review. Really fantastic people in the garden store! Not…read morejust do they stock a great variety of plants and trees of all kinds, but they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. For instance, we have been enduring some really terrible frost. They guided us through buying the frost blankets needed to fend off the frost, and as a result saved our beautiful new peach tree (which we bought from these guys last year). A first-class store staffed by top-notch people!

You can get ANYTHING you need here. Are the plants sometimes cheaper elsewhere...YES but the lawn…read moreornaments, pots wind chimes, bird feeders and everything else are like nothing you've ever seen. The owner and his staff go out of the way to buy the most unusual items. If I need a birthday gift for someone, I come here. I purchased a hand blown glass bird feeder for a friend. The price was not outrageous, as I am cheap, and my girlfriend LOVED it. If you need birdseed, at 69 cents a pound, buying it loose, you can't beat this place either. Of course they have the usual items, but you can even haggle a little sometimes and get a REAL bargain. Last year I got a beautiful bush for 1/3 off, just by asking if they had ANY specials at the end of the year. The woman in the gardening department actually said, I could let this one go a little cheaper as long as I know it is going to a good home. She feels about her plants the way I do! And lastly, in the country, you have to deal with mice. It is a necessary evil of the joy of the mountains. I was directed to a device that kills the mice by one of the ladies inside. They're mice, so killing them is fine with me as long as I don't see their feces on my counter top and in my food anymore. She even knew what she was talking about with that. In one week, my mouse problem has been solved. I was able to catch one mouse a day, and now I live rodent free. Thanks AGWAY for knowing your stuff!!!!
