The Dalriada B&B is located about 3 minutes by car north out of Portree. I guess it's about 20 minutes by foot, but no fun walking because Dalriana is uphill all the way and all the traffic on the narrow road.
I found our room to be very nice and equipped with the standard kettle, tea & coffee. We even had a view over the landscape. There is a guest lounge with a fireplace and a view too. WiFi is free but a donation to cancer research is welcome if you do use the WiFi (collecting box in the lounge). Breakfast was organized in slots, we could choose 8 or 9am. We chose 8, by 8:40 we had to make room for the 9am guests. Breakfast was very good, with many things to choose from, like porridge, eggs with salmon or full scottish breakfast. Duncan also offers smoked makarel pate which he prepares himself, he even catches the fish himself. I found his pate very good. Breakfast had to be ordered the day before.
I enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very nice and always helpful with advice over things to do and where to go. I would book the Dalriana again anytime. read more
