This review is primarily about the youth program and the facility. The Dallas Dodgers Baseball Club (DDBC) youth program is less than 5 years old. The first year or two were very rough, primarily because the coaches had almost no experience coaching players under 15. Treating an 11 year old like a 16 year is simply NOT a good idea. They over-challenged.in practice and in games and under-taught the basics. For example in practice, the youth players used the same hitters' challenge as the high schoolers, but most hadn't been taught how to bunt. And rather than start out at AA to get a chance of on-field success, they started a new team of raw players at AAA, with poor results as expected. The worst thing about the experience was the air of blind arrogance from the staff, with a refusal to take advice from the paying customers. (And it was quite expensive to boot.)
The facility was too small for more than one team at a time, and it was located in a strip mall next to a theatre who didn't like the sounds of BP during weekend performances.
I gave an extra star because I have heard good things about their high school summer programs. read more
