He was able to get me a private lesson that afternoon! He has been teaching for over 30 years. He has a lot of experience and a ton of patience with me! Lessons are always fun. He plays upbeat music and is able to explain skills in different ways so I can better understand my approach. Picking up a new hobby is difficult but I'm glad I have Fred as my coach. He has provided me with a ton of tips! 10/10 would recommend him to my friends and family.

Finding affordable summer swimming lessons for kids has become increasingly difficult over the…read moreyears. In the past I have tried to secure a spot at the Flower Mound CAC, but signing up on their website is akin to buying concert tickets. As soon as registration opens you have about a nanosecond to hit the button or you're out of luck. It doesn't help that the pool of lifeguards (pun intended!) keeps shrinking every year resulting in fewer classes. Just as I was ready to give up my search and throw in the towel (pun intended again!) I discovered Lakeside Aquatic Club. Their classes are held year round at the LISD natatorium/Westside Aquatic Center. It's an indoor facility so parents can watch comfortably out of the unforgiving Texas weather. Also, the cost is comparable to the CAC, which is far less than what the local swim schools charge. Students are divided into small groups according to their skill level so they get lots of individual attention. The instructors are experienced and have so much patience with the kids. I also appreciate how quick and concise the communication is. Any time your child advances to the next level by acquiring new skills they will notify you by email the same day. Not only did my son learn a great deal over the summer, he enjoyed every minute of it. I will be happy to enroll him in future classes here, especially without the stress of having to spam the button to be the first in line!

His coach Coach Chrissy is incredible. She's both tough and understanding, and just gets through to these kids. His former coaches Coach Tony and Coach Leslie have all been great as well. We have such supportive families and the kids learn from that! My son swam both club and summer league when we lived up north and neither program compared to what you get from LAC. While the competition can be tough, it's very positive and there is such a great comradely among the kids. In fact, my younger daughter (7) that grew up at pool and said she would never be on a swim team, signed up with LAC in October. She went through the Red and Black teams with Coach Sam. He is perfect for the littles!! She's now in the Bronze group with Coach Leslie and it's so awesome to see her move through the team so quickly with such strong technique. This team is huge but it's an amazing family! As our third swim team experience it knocks the socks off all the others. Thanks LAC for having a great team and great coaches!

Layout was fantastic, no tricky holes and several beautiful vistas. Very nice range with ball crates and alignment rods. Plenty of distance markers in the range field. Also had a lunch buffet after the outing, which was good. Service seemed on point and caring.

When asking employees for help, sometimes they assist, but other times they just tell you to wait for another machine without offering any real solution. The machines constantly having issues is clearly something management should take more seriously, and the staff should have a better attitude when customers bring it up. Today was even worse. I showed up to get some batting work in, only to find the entire building closed. An electrician on site mentioned it was due to electrical issues, which honestly makes sense considering how often the machines don't work properly. The frustrating part is there was no notification anywhere saying the facility was closed. Google Maps showed the place as completely open. I've been to other D-BAT locations, and this one is by far the worst experience I've had. Even the bats are in poor condition.

Moreover, this facility utilizes real balls, which is a great feature. Such outstanding service is what keeps us returning to this location every time.

Wagon Wheel Tennis and Pickleball is like the little engine that could - a municipal gem in DFW…read morethat, unfortunately, honestly goes through big turnout swings with its programming. I've been in and out of their adult tennis drop and drills on Tuesday and Thursday since moving to the area in 2018. For stretches, their tennis drills have been humming with really good players - but then there's a big drop in attendance for a while. The biggest opportunity there is to start developing some new drills and not stick with the comfort of Amarillo and other drill mainstays. Wagon Wheel to its credit was pickleball when pickleball wasn't all that cool - before the pandemic. It seems though with the evolution of indoor operations in the DFW area - several opening since the start of the year - Wagon Wheel has seen a decrease in advanced players and it's mostly low to mid intermediate now - even on their designated advanced courts during their pickleball open plays. They recently enhanced their court waiting area near the original true pickleball courts but are dealing with some backlash over the construction of new courts converted from tennis because they're way too cramped. If you are going to play in a park setting, Wagon Wheel's tennis and original pickleball courts are in phenomenal shape and it's pretty affordable to play there. Their tennis teaching pros work hard and Wagon Wheel has a formidable teen tennis program with other amenities like ball machine rental for both tennis and pickleball. I don't love that it costs more for non-Coppell residents plus fees to run a credit card for tennis and pickleball so I'm willing to pay a little more for better competition and indoor pickleball.
