Staff were super friendly and kind as they told us to visit the 6th floor. We unexpectedly discovered the flag room on the 6th floor, which had amazing views of the city skyline. The flag room also had a podium where we had fun posing behind it. Also a nice bench outside for that souvenir photo of Dallas. There are also restrooms on the same floor. This was a nice side trip as we took pics of the big round pool with its own ducks too. This pool has a fountain which came on later on. Definitely recommend coming here to see the beautiful city skyline and learn some history of Dallas.

If you go to any number of other law enforcement websites throughout Texas they have a complete page about the process. You go to Dallas County Sheriff's website and it has a few sentences. I have a problem with that because they can dismiss valid internal affairs complaints for not following the process completely to report. On top of this their Internal Affairs agents lie to the public like you have to come in person (it doesn't matter if you are in another state or country they persist with the lie) when it doesn't say that in the Sheriff's Rules of Civil Service or on the Texas Government Website about how to file a complaint against law enforcement. Both sites simply state you have to write it and sign it. Neither says 'in person'. Then the Dallas County Sheriff's internal affairs office lies like you are mandated to notarize the complaint. This isnt in their rules of civil service. Corrupt... to the core.

When I arrived we lined up and they tore off one little juror card and we were all immediately excused "due to Covid"! The court attendants were all very nice. So, I did go through security so I could use the restroom and then I was on my way back to Dart to catch the train home. I've never been here for Jury Duty, I've always gone to Frank Crowley in the past. The building and hallways looked very clean and the restroom was spotless.

However lately the moral…read moreseems down or maybe they just have employees who are providing poor customer service, but I've gotten where I dislike this location but still come here because they carry the best variety of stamps, opened longer than my local office and this is gonna sound horrible, the customer service here is still better than my local post office. On this evening, I overheard one employee talking to a customer in a very snarky tone. Yes I realize that times have changed however you don't have to make someone feel little by saying things to make them feel stupid. Another lady asked a question and was told that she would need to Google the answer to that. I hope I've just come at a bad time (although it was NOT busy, there were three employees and like four/five customers) and that this isn't the norm to be expected.

Jury duty at the Allen court is so much more pleasant than jury duty at Crowley court. Parking in…read morethe garage is a breeze, not to mention that it's validated (meaning discounted, not free) when you are doing your civic duty. Checking in is fairly simple. You just walk in the building via the parking garage, go up the escalator, and then through the metal detectors. After going through the metal detectors, your path will change depending on where you're headed. For people with jury duty, you proceed to the right and check in with the staff there. I much preferred my jury duty at Allen over Crowley. Once I checked in, I received a bit more information and headed to the main room where all other potential jurors were sent. Usually my luck runs out but not on the day of my most recent jury duty. Not only did I find out the good news that I passed my principal certification exam, I also got dismissed from jury duty and had a free day from work. Once you throw in the fat $6 check I later received in the mail, I came out winning. Oh wait, you have to deduct $3 for parking. But still, I got a free day from work for being dismissed from jury duty and I made 3 bucks? #winning
