It was all lolzies at the Giant Eyeball back in May when your girl found another great pun. Eye'll be seein' ya around I told my bff. Now 7 weeks later I don't know if I'll find an art piece that quite captures how I'm feeling here. Anyways, I love a good sculpture and it doesn't need to be a Rodin in France. Fun lawn art makes me happy. Eye'd say if you're in the area this is a must see ;) attraction. Ok, I'll stop!

This is one of those quirky sculptures that is weird and wonderful at the same time. You can't miss it when walking along Main Street. Seems it's on private property and is fenced in. However, you can still take decent photos in between the iron bars.

I love campy stuff, so this is up my alley. I heard about this landmark, but didn't intentionally find myself here. I was walking around Dallas and there it was. This giant eye is definitely something to see. There is also an interactive aspect where you could scan a QR code and the eyeball comes to life. I don't think you could get up close in personal because, as I understand, this is more of an event space and a unique one at that. Definitely a place to stop by and take some fun pictures, but you don't need a lot of time if you're sightseeing or being a tourist for a day.

This was such a cool statue to walk to I love anything with art and eyes It's a huge eyeball you can't walk too but so cool

A creepy and historic landmark here in Dallas. The giant eyeball gages the audience with its unique and stunning presence . Right next to another downtown staple, The WoolWorth, Elm street just has tons of twists and turns on each corner .

It was really cool to find something quirky in the middle of downtown. We came at night and not necessarily as part of an event. Great for photos especially with the sky rises on the background

Created by artist Tony Tasset, the 30-foot-tall sculpture is made of resin and fiberglass. It's a replica of the artist Tasset's own eye. He created the sculpture back in 2007. Tim Headington, the billionaire owner of the Joule Hotel next door, installed The Eye here on the former site of the Praetorian Building, which in 1909 was the tallest building in Dallas. Headington tore the Praetorian Building down to create this green park in 2013 and installed The Eye. It's privately owned. As it is surrounded by a locked gate, the best angle to get a photo if the gate is locked and closed (which is most of the time) is directly in front on Main Street. If you stand in front of the gate, you can get a good view of the eye and even take a selfie. It is a fun place to take a photo downtown, but it's completely surrounded by a locked gate and the doorman/security guard at the clothing store Forty Five Ten next door was about as obnoxious as could be. We were walking from Elm Street near the driveway entrance of the Forty Five Ten clothing store next door to get a better view from the gate and he started walking toward us, huffing and puffing and said "you need to go around the other side. No photos allowed. This is private property ". I'm not arguing as I'm sure he had a gun. We were literally on the sidewalk and staying in the hotel next door. In the meantime, we weren't dressed as much of a threat; I was in loafers and my friend visiting from Australia was dressed in Chanel. It's a pity because the "The Eye" is such an interesting attraction and would bring shoppers in for foot traffic, but I think they discourage it. The only way to get onto the lot in front of it if the gate is locked (which seems to be most of the time) is to go to a special event or to rent it out.

It's across from the Woolworth Restaurant. Fun and crazy thing to see in downtown Dallas! Take a bunch of silly pics!

Yeah, that's creepy. There's a giant eyeball in downtown Dallas that seems to be watching everything that's happening around it. Yes, this sculpture is actually one of two with the other in Saint Louis. Tony Tasset is the artist and according to his statement, there is no deeper meaning behind the eyeball that is a replica of his own eyes. The eye weighs 18000 pounds and is currently behind a fence at the Dallas Art Fair. You can still see it from the front and from one side, but not the other side because the Joule Hotel is absolutely closed to the public and they will yell at you. Was excited to see this random giant eyeball sculpture, but you can't even get close to it. Like, yeah it's still cool from a distance, but I wanted to stand right up close to it to really feel how large it is. This is a one time thing to see and only because it's in a very walkable area so you're already there for other things. Not something to go out of your way to see since you're only going to spend a few minutes here max.

You gotta see the giant eyeball while in Dallas! They say the second eye is in St. Louis if you ever venture over there! This is a cool piece of art. But you can't get too close. It is blocked off by a fence. Still, if you are downtown take a minute to come visit. It's a cool landmark.

If you enjoy art, then a visit to downtown Dallas should not be without a stop to see the Eye sculpture by artist Tony Tasset. The Eye sits in a beautifully manicured lawn at The Joule Luxury Hotel. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the Eye is on private property and is fenced off so you can't get right up close to it like you would at a sculpture park.

The giant eyeball I would have given 5 stars but it's gated and the gates are locked. Cool public art.

Just a fun and wacky monument to drive by while you are in Dallas. To some, a funny and uniquely Dallas lanark, but to others, an eyesore

WTF! You have to pay to see the eye now. This used to be a cool place to visit when came to town but I'm not paying to see this.

We were fortunate there was no cloud cover! You could see for miles from the Ball's point of view at 470 feet up. The Reunion Tower itself is a 561 ft observation tower in Dallas, and one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. We spent about 30 min checking out the views and eventually made our way back down the elevator. Overall, it was a nice experience! But for the price we paid, I did expect a bit more! The Tower looked like a lollipop and was only 20 mins walk from our hotel. At one point we found ourselves on the train tracks and could see the Tower but couldn't quite see how to get there as there was no signage or directions. Eventually, we had to walk around and go under a bridge to get to the other side and walked towards the Tower. Even the entrance had no signage. It did have the name of the restaurant Crown Block and also Hyatt Hotel but nothing about the Tower. Anyway, we walked in and went downstairs. Tickets were $19 and can be bought from the kiosks. As we walked to the line, you get to have your photo taken with a green screen. There are props you can use on the right counter if needed. In the elevator you can see outside as you are going up. I just wished the glass was facing the city instead of Trinity river and the two Margaret sister bridges. You can see all the freeways overlapping like spaghetti. At the top, there is a little area with a few tables and chairs. I guess you can bring a lunch or snack whilst enjoying the views. The restrooms are really clean up there. Outside, there are telescopes available and info about the skyline. However, it was awfully windy and cold in January. The staff were really friendly and helpful with any questions you have. We found out the photos taken earlier, could be viewed at the kiosks by scanning the barcode on your ticket. They email the photos to you for free or you can buy a physical copy from them. Overall, it was a nice visit. Have to say, there were hardly any people around. I guess it was off peak tourist season, so it was nice not having the crowds and long lines.
