I was impressed: the location is clean, organized, has a great selection, and has fun Turkish music playing over the speakers. I was able to find kagit helvah, which is a wafer-like treat; I've been trying to find some for years, so I was pleased! They have a nice deli and refrigerated section, with tempting meats, cheeses, and pickles. I was able to find a variety of tahini. They also have a great selection of lokum (Turkish Delight), of which I purchased several flavors. Best of all, I sat down for a delicious serving of Turkish coffee. I had mine "az sekerli" (a little sugar), which was luxurious and a treat. I look forward to returning for baklava and simit. BTW. My visit was met with a friendly welcome, which was appreciated.

My $4 piece baklava piece was only 1"x1.5", but the flavor was rich and full of the flavor of honey and pistachios. It may have been the best ever! The server was helpful in showing me items from the market on the other side of the space. I asked her many questions about the Kadaifi. I dreamed up a dessert invention inspired by Dubai Chocolate which I want to realize. She brought out her boss who was kind and able to explain the process of cooking the Kadaifi. Two thumbs up at Grand Bazaar Grocery and Bakery. I'll let you know how it comes out!

All the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. l don't know them personally but I'm a fan of each person for different reasons. One time I was buying persimmons that were kind of pricey... and the cashier paused to let me know the cost. It was expensive but I really wanted them so I nodded for them to cross the scanner but I appreciated him pointing it out because I hadn't looked at the price tag! The store is always fresh and clean, as is the parking lot. I appreciate that they have ample parking and you can enter/exit from 3 different streets. Other helpful features: * They have plastic bag recycling outside, and other machines inside that I haven't used (locker, CRV bottle recycling, maybe a coin counter?). * They are open throughout the year with the exception of just Christmas Day. Bless them for being open on the eves and New Year's Day! * If you shop here regularly, be on the look out for their annual Cyber Monday Gift Card sale (pay $75 for a $100 gift card). * On Fridays, there is a van that sharpens knives while you shop! I highly recommend them!

The host was very friendly and explained that once we were ready to order, we could head to the register in the back. After placing our order for a group of four, our drinks arrived within just a few minutes. They looked exactly like the menu descriptions and tasted just as good. The food was fresh, hot, and clearly made with quality ingredients. We all especially loved the tomato soup. We also ordered a waffle to share as an appetizer, and it came topped with large, beautiful strawberries that tasted amazing. The portion size was generous. I ordered the Fresh Mozzarella sandwich on ciabatta bread and asked for it toasted, and it was phenomenal. I did not have very high expectations since this was a quick, last minute choice and we did not even check reviews beforehand, but I am so glad we gave it a try.
