There is a lot of retail and restaurant turnover, but there are also icons that have been there for decades: Kuby's, Banditos, Half Shells, Amore, Bubba's, and Penne Pomodoro come to mind. We also tried Coastal Cuisine several years ago and we should return since we did like it. You could establish a rotation of restaurants to eat at just on the plaza, not to mention the restaurants that are a few minutes walk along Hillcrest. This trip we discovered some new restaurants that look like they might be worth checking out. Parking can be tight but if you can find a spot, it is fun to walk the plaza and window shop or do real shopping. This time we saw some new places that offer outside seating so if you want a break from shopping, you can stop for a snack or drink of some kind and relax when the weather is nice. When you are done eating, drinking, and shopping, you can walk for a bit through the beautiful SMU campus.

As University Park, Highland Park, and SMU grew, so did Snider Plaza to what it is today. Over the years I have come here and patronized these businesses many times! Some of my personal favorites in Snider Plaza are Jack's Burger House, Kuby's, Bubba's, and today I tried Jack & Harry's which now tops the list! My only complaint about Snider Plaza would be that sometimes parking is horrible. Parking by where you want to go is usually next to impossible. And for the parking situation, an otherwise 5 rating is a 3.

It is next to SMU (easy walking distance), plenty of parking, not too far from a DART Rail station and is easy to get in and out of except when there is a major SMU event. The staff at most of the businesses are generally highly qualified and service tends to be excellent at all of them.

It's a bit weird to walk through since most of the store fronts are empty and closed, but there's a handful of businesses making it work for them. Some retail, a couple artist spaces, a ballet studio, a cat grooming and adoption non-profit, a few restaurants open in the food court... When I went there was a Dallas Comic festival going on, plus my friend's gallery opening inside a store called Lucky Bunny. It seems like a great venue for pop-ups or businesses just getting on their feet. As empty as the mall is overall, there's still life left to see!

It is a beautiful outdoor plaza conveniently located on Belt Line Rd, right off the Dallas North Tollway. Always seems clean, well-manicured landscaping - great photo spots! Wide variety of restaurants and bars to cater to different palates - Sushi, Seafood, Mexican, American, Indian, Italian - and that's not even all! Trust me, you will find something there to enjoy! No shortage of entertainment either between the movie theaters, sports bars, and pubs - Boutiques for shopping, a few day spas to choose from, well you get the gist of it! On this particular visit, I went for their second Annual Pairings in the Parkway event. For $25 (in advance, $30 on day of event) we got to sample a food and drink pairing from seven restaurants in the Parkway - The offerings are listed below. It was a good value to be able to sample some choices from so many restaurants. Event itself was not overly packed so we were able to get through most of the restaurants very quickly (individual reviews of those to follow). I was a little disappointed though, that when we went to turn in our completed food passport at the end of the event to enter into the drawing for a gift certificate, the event tents were already packed up and gone by 4:30 pm although the center stated the event ran until 5 pm. Oh well, I will consider attending again next year if they highlight different restaurants from the center. The Food/Drink we received from each participating restaurant! So, I've noticed Village on the Parkway change over the past 20+ years -- my mother used to own a…read moreboutique here, so I've walked all the pathways and around every building at least a hundred times, and seen the stores change. Let me tell you, Village on the Parkway is WAY better these days than it ever was. They have a few businesses that have been open since the early ages of the shopping center -- Ernie's, Kitrell Riffkind Art / Glass, Mallasadi, and Subway. The shopping center was near death when a few new businesses brought some signs of life -- Bed Bath & Beyond, and TGI Friday's, and Blue Mesa. After that, better businesses start arriving -- so now there's Grand Spa, 24 Hour Fitness, Sherlock's Pub, and a larger, more popular selection of restaurants. The architecture is Mediterranean-inspired, with fountains, gazebos, wide boulevards, and landscaped walkways. My favorite is a little walkway behind Gloria's that's private and romantic -- I think they still light it up at night so it's even prettier.

I remember visiting this shopping center when I first moved to the area. The area is nicely…read morelandscaped and is kept clean. Sure, over the years, stores have come and gone, like anywhere else. I feel safe when I shop the stores, which is wonderful! The only negative is that I have seen such an up-tick in people begging on the grounds. I have watched a female beggar walk from her corner, hop in her BMW, and drive away.

I can't think of a place I would rather just be in than Outpost. From candles to vintage clothes, you can find affordable priced treasures here on the daily! Caroline Irby has done such an excellent job bringing intention back into the product she places on her shelves. Her collection ranges from local retailers and neighborhood vendors to women and black owned businesses. If there's ever a small business to support, it's these guys. While you're shopping grab a beer or swing next door for the best coffee of your life. Cowboys are back in Dallas!
