The store offers a wide variety of products, even though the shelves may look a bit old and sometimes not very clean. I visit this store regularly, so I've gotten familiar with the customer service in different sections. In the produce section, the staff are friendly and helpful. If you show them a picture, they'll help you find exactly the vegetables you're looking for. In the meat and seafood section, the staff's English isn't very strong, but they understand what you want if you take your time communicating. One thing to watch out for is pricing--sometimes the posted price is incorrect, so it's best to double-check. As for the cashier section, I've noticed that the best service usually comes from the younger cashiers who work at night, or the morning cashiers at counters number 2 or 5. They are friendly, fast, and well-trained. Some of them speak English fluently and are always willing to help. I especially appreciate the night-shift cashiers. They're relaxed and chill at work--sometimes they step away to chat with coworkers, but they always come back quickly if someone is waiting. There's one cashier in particular--the guy with glasses--who I always choose. He's friendly, jokes around in fluent English, and checks out customers very quickly. Cali Saigon is like a lot of plazas you find in San Gabriel where it's a Vietnamese food court. There's always a Lees and other family owned businesses that specialize in desserts or noodle dishes. There's plenty of seating and it's usually cash only. The Chè ba màu location is usually the busiest. There are lots of drinks (think like boba but Vietnamese). Its quite large so you can share it between two people. They also sell other goodies. The sugar cane juice is really good and it's not overpoweringly sweet. It's a nice large drink to get to deal with the Dallas heat. The noodle dishes are good. You can order it to go or eat it there. You get a lot of food for your money. It's cheap and affordable and a nice way to sample different flavors and dishes based in Vietnam. Also it is cash only. read more

Our first time at a Vietnamese food court! Had a lot of different options to choose from and a Lee's Sandwiches. A lot of places only took cash so definitely have some if you visit. There's also a supermarket in the back of the building next to the food court. There's also lots of little shops selling jewelry, medicine, clothing, toys, etc. workers and customers there mostly spoke Vietnamese so that might be a bit of a barrier if you don't speak Viet. This is a quintessential Vietnamese "mall." You've got your one main grocery store. Which is inclusive of all you'd need to live your best Vietnamese American life. With over five types of fish sauce and Yeo's canned soy milk, sugar can juice, and so on, this is the destination for all things Vietnamese. They do have a good selection of Chinese and other Asian countries' staples too. This includes things like bags of rice, instant noodles, or seasoning and dipping sauces. Now, if you've never been shopping at an Asian market. It's not dirty and it's not old. It's just how it is lol What's even better than the grocery store is the food court. I didn't pick anything up here to eat, but each of the small stalls had at least two or more platters or noodle bowls that made me stop to take a good look. I don't have the easiest time finding duck noodle soup here at home in the Bay Area. But more than one of these small stalls had it. What a dream. I would try one from each stall if I could. Just like with pho, any dish is made slightly differently as families pass these down from one generation to another. They have a Lee's sandwich also if you're a basic b*tch and like their sandwiches. They have a lot of good grab and go snacks and platters there though. It was nice to be able to find this little gem in the DFW area amongst all of the American food and BBQ. Also, don't skip past the nail supply store in here that's two doors down from Lee's! I got a bottle of the gel couture Essie polish for only $4.50 (after tax)!!! But bring case if you're not spending over.. I think it was $10? Boy, What a great trip today shopping at the Asian Market today. They were out of the 14 oz red curry so I ventured out & went ahead & purchased the Big Girl (35oz) size. I have been using a lot of red curry due to my favorite salmon, red curry salmon with kale. And red curry is my favorite curry! Also trying a new recipe for shrimp pad Thai so I needed ingredients for it. Purchased 2 gorgeous blue bowls from the dish aisle...true love! And I couldn't leave the store without purchasing the baby bok choy. I also purchased for the first time a different coconut milk. After seeing 3 different sets of customers pick the Savoy coconut milk I asked a very friendly customer what her opinion was of this particular brand. From what I guess it's like comparing milk to cream. The 4 star instead of 5 stars is again rudeness of employees. Here's one of my red curry recipes: THAI PANANG CURRY 1 1/2 lbs~Chicken Breasts, boneless, sliced thin 1~tsp Lemon Pepper, or to taste 3~TBSP Peanut Oil, divided 1~Medium Onion, chopped 1~Red Bell Pepper, chopped 1~Green Bell Pepper, chopped 5~Cloves Garlic, minced 1~TBSP Ginger, minced 1/4~Cup Red Curry Paste 2~TBSP Peanut Butter 1/8~tsp Allspice Powder, optional 2~tsp Brown Sugar 2~Cups Coconut Milk 1/3~Cup Thai Basil Leaves, Garnish 1/3~Cups Peanuts, chopped, Garnish, optional Limes, for Garnish Instructions: Toss chicken with lemon pepper. Heat 1 TBSP of peanut oil in a wok or skillet, cook chicken. Remove cooked chicken from the skillet & set aside. Wipe out skillet with a paper towel. Add 2 TBSP peanut oil to the skillet. Sauté onions in the oil until the onions are translucent. Add the red & green bell peppers. Cook for 2 minutes constantly stirring. Add the garlic & ginger and sauté an additional minute. Add the red curry paste, peanut butter, brown sugar & allspice to the skillet. Sauté, stirring regularly for 2 minutes. Pour in coconut milk, give it a good stir. Return the chicken to the skillet. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes, till heated thoroughly. Add a few Thai Basil leaves. This Panang is great when served with steamed jasmine rice. And garnished with peanuts, additional Thai Basil & a lime wedge. Bon Appetit' ‍ 6~Servings *I often sub out the veggies with green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli or whatever is in my vegetable crisper. read more

I was at the Saigon Mall today with my puppy, the African American woman security came up to me and asked me to leave bc dogs can't be in there and I understood that, I got up and left right away without causing any issues. However, for her to followed closely behind me as I walked out was very unnecessary, it made people looked at me like I was some kind of a criminal. Drove pass this place and decided to check out. There is a food court on the left side with Lee's sandwich, numerous Vietnamese restaurants, a banh mi shop and a dessert place at the end. Ordered 2 sandwiches $4 each (buy 5 get 1 free) and cash only. Bread was soft but not much filling. Wish there's more carrots and cucumbers too. But good flavor. Wanted to get some desserts but the lady kept on saying what number. Wanted to know what they are and didn't get any due to language barrier. Ended up with the pandan soy milk, as I'm familiar with this. I tried to get another pastry but couldn't due to language barrier. Follow up visit to market, first off it smelled like human waste sewage. Something seemed really wrong. While produce area has a decent selection, just cant justify coming back. Secondly is safety, watch your personal belongings, car or on yourself, as there is some criminal activity and gangs. I was pretty satisfied with my groceries but the food court is not giving. The picture of the $7 milk tea shows some black stuff in it and I keep getting something red in it too I don't know what those are but very suspicious. Then I ordered dumplings at the man there but got fresh spring rolls instead. Really disappointed but I know it's also my fault for not checking what I got before leaving. You're standard fare Vietnamese shopping center, lol. Primarily a grocery store as well but you'll find some Chinese, Taiwanese, and Filipino goods here. Parking is way more ample than Westminster's Asian Garden Mall, so I had no anxiety leaving my car parked here while we shopped lol. read more

This place is a hidden gem. So many restaurants located in side of this place. I love shopping here for food. The produce is always so fresh and the meat Dept is huge. I love the food court. They have many that cook homemade meals and the bathrooms are super clean. During the holiday season, they have music and dances. Lots of family and lots of people on the weekend. I love the little bạnh mi sandwich at the end of the food court, but they take a long time when they are busy. The Che place next door sells good snacks too. read more

So many places to choose from and a lot of groceries to fix anything your heart desires. They carry more than just Vietnamese favorites, you can find Chinese and Japanese goods there too. There is no other market in Dallas that I can find that carries my favorite soy sauce (Kimlan), so Cali Saigon Mall is my go to. Fair warning. Bring insulin to the food court if you plan on having a boba drink. I had to toss mine almost immediately. Way WAY to much sugar for a human to consume. read more

I am giving a 5 stars just because it reminds me of Asian Garden Mall in Bolsa/Westminster CA where I use to live and a tad bit homesick at times (T__T) I am not gonna lie, I do miss how easy it was to get any type of food or dessert at almost any time of day, especially Viet food! So this place is called Cali Saigon Mall. It is about 15 mins away from where we live. Been here several times already lol. It has a big Vietnamese supermarket in it that has most Asian & East Asian produce, meats, and ingredients. So big plus for that because this mama cooks mostly Asian food. I like that they have almost most of the Japanese stuff I cook with too. I was worried that I would have to drive far to get my Japanese stuff but so far so good. They have various little shops like Asian Garden Mall which consist of gift, herbal, beauty supply etc shops. There is also a food court on the left hand side with known places such as Lee's coffee (thank the Lord for my ca phe su da and sinh to ba), bambu dessert, and other eateries. They have this banh mi place which is called #1 banh mi or something like that and the banh mis there are so good! They have unique ones that I've have never seen back in OC or rarely have seen. So that's a place I would def recommend. Everything looks good, they even have a little crawfish to go place! The kids seem to love the sesame street rides in the food court. So yes, I give this place 5 stars based on all the experiences I've had so far. read more

Its nice to know that there is a place that you can go to for the vietnamese in you. I go to this place mainly because I live in Richardson, and its closer then the other one down the road. There is one off Greenville and Campbell, but its geared more toward Chinese then Vietnamese. I am glad they are finally reopening the store in there. For a while its been pretty empty. In any case, the location is nice, and the owners of the facility do keep the parking lot clean and that is a plus. read more

This is the OG asian mall in the DFW area. You all might know of Hmart, 99 ranch, and those other major retailers, but only a select few know of Cali Saigon Mall (or, as the originals know it, "Saigon Mall") Can you get Lee's Sandwiches at the other asian malls? I don't think so. And when you have a bite of their homemade bread with their savory toppings, you won't wanna go to any other sandwich shop. Also, the mall security here is top notch. This review is mainly for Hong Phat Market and some of their surrounding stores. I'll start with the market. Hong Phat isn't a bad market at all. It's pretty clean and fairly new (it's been open for about a yr). Their produce looks good and there's an abundance of seafood. You can buy mussel meat for I was amused by some of their meat offerings (they sell a whole pig's head for $14.99! I could totally scare someone at halloween. bwahah). Nearby there's a Chinese BBQ stand which was pretty cool. You can buy the usual like roast duck and various innards. For a big party, you can also order an entire roast pig for the cheap price of $200. Inside the market there's a Mozart Bakery which looked really good. I think it's part the same Mozart Bakery near Super H-Mart. There's an awesome food court inside this shopping mall. I like the desserts in Sweet Bakery. And right now for the Moon Festival, the restaurant Mon Ngon Saigon is selling their yummy Moon Cakes. You can ID this place by looking for red neon lights saying "Chao Vit" (translation : duck congee). Come check this place out for a quick bite or for hard to find shopping items in the market. read more

Great grocery store with fresh fish that you have to line up to get. They have a good selection of stuff from all over Asia and sometimes they have great deals on vegetables (5 multi-colored peppers for $1.99--cannot go wrong here!). The entire mall is good because it has some good Vietnamese restaurants so you can have lunch then go shopping. Don't forget to get your nails done upstairs. Cash only but they are wonderful. The only disappointment is the closure of the sandwich place that had really good fresh baguettes. Don't know what is going on there but would love to see another baguette place open up. read more

Then when I got home i saw she charged me on green onions for $5.38 when I only had 2 and she list the item as mung which isn't green onions! I have been making the rounds to a lot of the Asian grocery stores in the Richardson/Garland area, and so far Hong Phat market in Saigon Mall is the cleanest and most organized of them all. This is the place I'd recommend for people that aren't used to Asian grocery stores - it doesn't smell (except in the fish sauce isle), the produce is well-organized, items are well-marked in both English and what I assume is Vietnamese, and there is just a great selection. Plus, Teahouse is a great bubble tea spot to the left of the grocery store, and Lee's sandwhiches provides great bahn mi to the right. I also browsed the bakery and some of the other Vietnamese food court options, and all in all I was totally impressed. read more

If you live on the east side of Dallas and do not want to make the trek out to Super H Mart in Carrollton, Saigon Mall will rock you. Saigon is a super fun place for people who love Asian foods! Or to get the food you usually eat if you are, in fact, from Asia... Aaanyway, I love the selection in the market area. Their produce is fresh and quite varied. They also have fantastic live seafood and dried/preserved food sections. I have not quite worked up the courage to purchase dried squid but the day will come! Not only is there this foodiegasm market, the Mall also has restaurants! I believe the majority of food available is Vietnamese (woohoo for pho and bahn mi) but there is also a tasty boba tea joint.
