The only true grocery store, of which there are 4, is overpriced and underwhelming. Shopping at Walmart is generally a nightmare & that leaves the butcher shop, tiny mom & pop shop and the seasonal farmers market. We are off season for the farmers market. The mom & pop shop is great for baked goods and pork products. The butcher shop is our go-to for beef & bison. Enter Walmart to fill the gap. We've been using curbside every other Wed for a while now & it's nice. I add to my cart throughout the week, pick my time slot & checkout. Everything has been in good order so far, aside from our non-organic bananas. Those were the single one-offs and pretty bruised. Since the organic ones are a wrapped bunch, no issues. Not too shabby.

It's a new year which means all the nifty food gifts that were out for Christmas are 75% off, booyah! Don't sleep on the food section, a small but unique variety of products at reasonable (or downright excellent, after seasons) prices. I stocked up last year for wine baskets for our wine group - this year, I stocked up for personal use as well. I scored tapenades, sauces, pestos, spices, crunchies, cookies & pastas. I'll use a good chunk of it for making charcuterie boards at bargain prices. The checkout staff was new and was in training. She did a great job and her floor coach was patient and friendly - yay My only real issue is the presentation of products being disorderly and items not being faced. It means a bit of wandering and picking through, but nothing too crazy. It might even be a bit thrilling.

We decided to take it to Riddle's Jewelry in the mall to see if they would do it for us. We agreed that if they'd take care of it for a reasonable price, we'd do it. Upon arriving, they looked at it within 2 minutes of us walking in and asked us to stop back in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, the ring was polished, the prong was fixed and they didn't charge us a dime! I reply that it's a store return and she points me to register 8. No waiting... inhale, exhale... Wow ! Went into JCP to grab a couple perfumes and asked the older female behind the counter to help…read moreme find them. She looked at me like it was a huge imposition and said, "You left something?" I said no, sorry, and repeated my request to help me find a certain perfume. She cut me off and said, "Then what do you need?" I asked again for the perfume I was looking for and asked if she could help me find it. She replied with an annoyed sigh, "No, I can't leave the counter"and turned away. My husband asked her, Well then is there someone who might be able to help find it? She replied with another annoyed sigh, "Ohhhh... yes, just a minute." She was clearly not happy to be asked to help and annoyed with the imposition of a customer. The lady behind me quickly commented, "She wasn't interested in helping me either. Please avoid the older lady with the Russian accent in the perfume section.
