On arrival, there were a couple of gentlemen taking in a huge load that had been dropped off. As we pulled up, their faces fell. It turns out they'd been working on that drop for 3hrs - it looked like someone had dumped a dump truck of loose items on the lot. They were happy to see we only had 1 box, sealed and easy to carry- ha. The store is a bit untidy and filled with random things, sometimes things that should have just gone to the trash. Prices are low though and, while assisting the group home for teens, we were able to score some sweet deals on prom dresses. The girls got to look like princesses, even on their very limited budget. We couldn't have pulled it off without the Restore!

This is all fine and expected with most smaller thrift stores... HOWEVER, the last 3 visits there has been the rudest cashier I've come across in Minot. She yells at children, refuses to sell merchandise on the shelf because all of the sudden it belongs to her or some family member and talks about other customers to customers. Unfortunately today was my last visit because of this.

I certainly don't like the mixing of religion and altruism. Pushing religion on others in times of need is exploitation. Some areas of the store were better than others. For example, they had a lot of clothing options. Their furniture selection was lacking and not that great. All of their merchandise overall seemed fairly low in quality, but it is a thrift store after all.

I would call out in a stern voice about knocking. He would respond that he didn't need to knock. This would happen several times well I was in the changing room with my cloths off. This second time I came there I discovered he was not only an employee but a manger! This information was confirmed by an older woman running the cash register at the store and by the man himself who was very obnoxious about it. When I called the main office at RSI they at first tried denied that they had a store manager who was male but then admitted it when I told them about the cashier confirming it that there was a man authorised to work there. It stuns me that a company that has been given such absolute trust and power over vulnerable adults and children ( developmentally disabled children, recovering addict adults, ect) would have such a person in their employ at all, but in a management capacity with the public where he can openly practice voyersimin is inexcusable. I am very concerned for the welfare any vulnerable adults or children in the custody of RSI.
