Went to Dakar on a Wednesday night for dinner. The restaurant was pretty small and smelled amazing when we walked in. I had never had Senegalese food before and was really excited to try a new cuisine.
The beers were very reasonably priced, and there were a couple of interesting juices on the menu.
I had the Thiebou Diene, which is a fish dish that comes with rice, carrot, eggplant, tomato, and lemon. The rice was AMAZING - incredibly spiced and went really well with the white fish. The eggplant, tomato, and carrot were also so well cooked and spiced in a very interesting way. The dish was also very reasonably priced, at 6 euro, and the portions was incredibly ample. I really enjoyed this dish, 5/5.
I really enjoyed my meal at Dakar and am definitely on the hunt for Senegalese food closer to home! read more
