no stars! don't even think about hiring these people…read more to say they are unprofessional would be a gross understatement. they are downright criminals! they agreed to move my handicapped mother from a small dorchester studio to east boston. they moved some of her boxes and bags but did not actually take a single piece of her furniture and they refused to do so, complaining about the building's elevators. leaving my mother with no place to sit (except for her wheelchair) or sleep at the start of the long Independence day weekend. nice! they took just her bags and some boxes to the new place but didn't even take the stuff into my mother's new apartment, they just left it outside in the hallways of the new building on two dif. floors; blocking the building mailboxes! they refused to go back for her furniture. i got a call from the new building manager saying that they actually even BROKE the elevatto add insult to injury, these crooks also took off with my mother's handicapped parking placard which they asked to borrow to park the truck to unload. b/c of how egregious G&B was, the new building' mgmt. actually had to CALL THE POLICE on them and will be pressing charges. STAY AWAY from these scammers and tell everyone you know. only hire licensed and insured, highly recommended movers.

The minute they started unloading, they didn't stop working until the "timer" (um, that's my checkbook) hit 3 hours, which is their minimum time. I found them reasonable at $80/hour...and although at first I would have preferred a 2 hour minimum, as I ended up needing all 3 hours I can't complain. Did I mention I live in a two story house? They hauled heavy boxes of books, dressers, bookcases, and beds upstairs. It would have taken me forever to do that...in fact, I just plain would never have moved anything upstairs! They were friendly, courteous, and professional. I also greatly appreciated that they were flexible with their schedule, willing to work around when the moving truck (which was through a separate company) could come to my house. They did a terrific job and I definitely recommend them.

At first I assumed the job would be too small for a moving company, but after umpteen delivery services sent me quotes with high rates-- *and* wanted us to help load and unload! -- I decided to call Boomerang, since they did such a good job moving us into our home earlier in the year. Boomerang actually charged *less* than what all those delivery services were asking for, and of course they did a careful, professional job, because they actually know how to move furniture. Nathan and Christian got these extra-tall bookcases down a curving flight of stairs, around tight corners in a narrow hallway, through the doorways and into their places without putting a scratch on either the bookcases or the walls. Moral of the story: Even if you just need to move a few pieces, hire professional movers -- specifically, hire Boomerang!
