Plz don't come if you don't want to ruin your day!…read more I've been to this shoe repair store three times, and unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing due to the rude and unprofessional attitude of the staff member there. The boss was fine, but the staff was truly rude. Dealing with such a thing on Saturday literally ruined my weekend. Therefore, I wish to share the whole story with you guys here. On my third visit, I clearly told the staff that I didn't want to spend too much on an outsole replacement, since this particular pair of shoes only cost $95. I even said that if the cost was too high, I would prefer to buy a new pair. The staff assured me the job would be $35, which I agreed to. However, when I returned to pick up the shoes, I was suddenly told the price was $85. I felt helpless since there was no invoice given, and the service has already been done. When I questioned the change, the staff became rude and dismissive, showing a very negative attitude rather than calmly explaining the misunderstanding. It turns out the $35 quote was only for the heel--not the full sole replacement--which was never made clear to me. Thankfully, the boss stepped in and agreed to a $50 charge, which I accepted. But the damage was already done in terms of the experience. After the boss agreed on $50, the staff becomes even more rude to me. This is the reason why I would like to share this experience with everybody else to help your guys avoid such experience. What made this worse is that I had already been tolerant in the past. For example, during a previous service, the staff got black oil/dirt on my shoes which was a pair of brand new Saint Laurent sandals with retail price $770 dollars before tax, but I chose not to complain and continued to support the business. I expected a little more care and respect in return. Please refer to the attached pic for more details. After this last visit, I've lost trust in this store. I don't recommend going to a place where simple communication turns into conflict and customers are treated with such negativity. There are many other stores out there--choose one that values honesty and respectful service.

The Associate in the shop is rudest person who only takes care of you if you do "enough" business with them. They ruined a dress I only wore once. The dress came back to me with holes in it. When I discussed this with Skye, they took no accountability for their mistake. When I spoke to the condescending associate about it she told me to return the dress to the store as it's their fault. Then she said they would fix it when you can't! Apparently in Skye Dry Cleaning world this made sense. If you deal with this Associate, just know she's 100% condescending. I spoke to the owner, who was even worse than the Associate. Clearly there is a pattern of abysmal customer service. The owner said that they washed the dress as best they could and once again told me to return it to the store. When I told the owner he needed to compensate me for ruining my dress he said, "no and has a business to run." NEVER use Skye dry cleaning, they're absolutely horrendous.

DON't GET YOUR SHOES DESTROYED HERE! I CAME BACK HOME FEELING REALLY INCENSED!!…read more Guys, when I came here I thought I was gonna be greeted by Fernando, a guy who worked previously at a diff place a few years ago and moved here. He has now totally moved or whatever but he used to really go all out of the way with fixing my shoes, once he even trusted me to borrow his shoe expander at home and give him back in a week from this same shop. And he would treat my shoes so delicately and I would even give him a damn good review for his last shop where it was seen by thousands of people and that review was helpful to his business. When I came here, I wanted to fix a squeak on these very special, unique, hard-to-get different shoes, only on the right side. These shoes has glassy-like platform heels with really not too many dents and cracks on the white shoes itself. I would get stopped at the streets all the time for these pair of shoes. This Mexican guy came in from the back, he was very rough with my shoes, CRACKED IT OPEN SO ROUGHLY AND SO SUDDENLY and he added a new dent to my classy shoe and a sorta hole around the sides of my shoe! And I couldn't stop him!! I was so speechless and flabbergasted. The lady at the front (both don't speak English well), sorry to say, but this itself could feed into the problem cos you don't know what she is really communicating to the guy at the back and he just came to me and talking about the material "carton" inside or whatever. I saw the crack, I was so shocked, I showed it to my husband who was waiting in the car and he was saying what's up with the side of the shoe being a lil' gappy and open now, it wasn't like this. I came back in and the lady dared to say it's a pair of old shoes??? Gaslighting me? Some people are so ill-hearted yet acting so sweet and nice...?? She said she can show it on camera, I said, "Show me! I'm not scared!" How can I be scared if I'm telling the truth and the camera was facing HIM so directly and everything was obvious and could be seen. I kept saying don't you guys deal with people's delicate stilettos? She knew she was lying, the guy half the time went to the back out of guilt cos he KNEW he did something wrong with my show and don't even wanna apologize and he wasn't facing me. I was so confused I didn't even know if I should ask him to repair something 2 mins ago that doesn't need to be repaired in my shoe that new / hole gap. Guys, don't get your shoes destroyed unexpectedly in the hands of a stranger. I know I sound a bit fear-mongering, but when it happens, although people consider these things objects or materialism, such a perfect day and just a squeak in a shoe could turn sour.

In conclusion there's everything to like at HL&SR!

This bag means the world to me because it was my very first designer bag, gifted to me over 10 years ago They worked absolute magic! The cleaning and restoration were done with such incredible care and attention to detail. When I got it back, it literally looked brand new You would never know it had gone through anything! Shoutouts to Leather Spa bringing it back to life! On top of that, the turnaround time was so fast which meant so much to me. I'm beyond grateful to have my sentimental piece restored so beautifully. Absolutely despicable. Stay away from Leather Spa at all costs! Destroyed a brand new, unworn pair…read moreof Louboutin boots for which I just paid over $2k at Saks. I first brought the boots to the Grand Central location and was turned away because apparently only 55th Street (the least accessible NYC location for me) does calf alterations. My boots were 1-1.5" too wide in the calves as I have very narrow legs, and while I was clear that I didn't want them to be tight, I did want them to look more fitted and neater around my legs. I went to 55th Street and intentionally had the boots fitted over jeans, repeatedly telling the store employee that he was cutting off my circulation and needed to loosen the boots. Rather than listen to me and do what I asked, he told me that they could stretch them if they turned out too small. I very adamantly said no, I will not compromise the integrity of the leather by stretching them nor will I agree to have the boots made too small so that additional work will be required. I finally asked him to provide the final measurement and was told it was 13". The boots were originally 14.5" for reference. The boots were ready in just over a week, which already had me concerned since I hadn't requested a rush job. Upon receiving them, I could immediately see that they were two different sizes. The left boot is 12.5" and the right boot is just barely 12.25". They are nearly impossible to zip, the seams were done VERY poorly and not straight, and most importantly, they do not fit without severe pain. I cannot walk in them. I literally can't even move my right ankle. And that's on my bare legs without jeans. I immediately contacted Leather Spa and received a response from Vincent who said it's very common for boots with this type of repair to require additional treatment and that I should bring them back for stretching. Did I not already have this conversation BEFORE I paid $300+ to ruin $2k+ boots??? Vincent insists they are not ruined even after I sent photos showing that they very much are. Further, they didn't even send them back to me nicely - they threw shreds of cut leather pieces inside one of the boots and just sent them off that way as further evidence of the total rush job. I used to frequent Leather Spa 55th and my patronage fell off years ago after they did something very similar to a pair of $300 boots. I was very clear during my visit this time that that could not happen again with my brand new Louboutin boots that were significantly more expensive. Had the employee just told me on the spot that they were going to cut my boots too small and require stretching thereafter, I would've taken the boots, walked out and gotten them repaired elsewhere. Literally the only reason I returned to Leather Spa is because Christian Louboutin recommends them. Never again.
