Major Disappointment. I read all the positive reviews thought I would find bargains galore. I drove an hour and could not believe the low quality at high prices. The pricing is confusing. Everything without a price tag is $1.75. To help you figure out pricing of other items, there are signs posted throughout the store. If you are still perplexed, you can ask an associate. They play an overhead recording telling you to do so. I will admit, they have a decent variety of items for the small store. However, the quality was lower than the low prices and were not worth a purchase. The kitchen items scare me, I would not use them. Before my visit, I was excited that they were opening in Brentwood and Chesterfield. After my shopping experience, I will not be returning here or visiting the new stores when they open. read more

Make sure you have some money in the bank, because Daiso has everything you want and need! From stuffed animals to bags to makeup to storage containers to dishes to car accessories to food, they've got it. The store was neatly organized and clean. Keep in mind that all products are written in Japanese. Price conversion charts are hung at the end of every aisle. There was only one checker, she was nice and professional and about 3 self check out lanes. I'm going back soon. read more

I was pretty surprised they decided to open a Daiso in Wentzville from all places, but seeing the huge crowd at Grand opening, maybe they made the right choice. The first and second Daiso I went to were in California and I also went to Daiso Korea and I loved it so much. However, Daiso Korea is a separate company now. Recommend going when it gets a bit quieter. I waited in the cold for 2 hours and when I finally got in to buy stuff, the checkout line looked like another hour wait. I had plans so I wasn't able to buy anything this time, but knowing that we have a Daiso, I was in no hurry to buy anything. If you haven't been, Daiso is a discounted Japanese Store. They have a wide variety of things. Kitchenware, office supplies, Sanrio and Disney products, stationary, Japanese snacks, travel supplies, plush toys, etc. There's a lot of stuff so you just need to go and take a look yourself. read more

Daiso has been a staple when I travel to the Los Angeles area, so when I heard Wentzville was getting one, I was confused, but I figured a short drive is better than a flight! It's like a Dollar Tree mixed with a 5 Below. Plenty of small housewares and things, TONS of Sanrio merch, and Japanese snacks and such. They have every day items, but cute. I saw a carrot shaped box cutter, for instance. I went on the grand opening day, and then went again on a week night recently to see how it was holding up. I think they're still getting their footing as far as stock and items being in demand. I was bummed by the lack of honey butter chips. Staff members were super friendly both times, and the store was clean. Still has that new store vibe! read more

I would have not survived 3 1/2 years in Japan without Daiso. Just about anything you could possibly need, can be found at Daiso! I can't even tell you how excited I was to learn the metro area would be getting several of these stores! If you have never been, I highly recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to shop. The store packs so much into a finite amount of space. Housewares, home office, lawn and garden, food and snacks! They literally have it all. In Japan, everything is 100 yen . Here, the prices are $2.75. I didn't calculate the exchange rates, but there is a little bit of a mark up. The items that are more than ¥100 are clearly marked. The team was very welcoming. I was disappointed not to be greeted traditionally with Irasshaimase as I walked in. Otherwise, I left with plenty of goodies that I've been missing since I moved home. read more

Wow, who knew the middle of Missouri was dying for an Asian discount store? So my only other Daiso experience was in Japan and maybe Korea. I went on their second day open (a Sunday) and it was absolutely mobbed. My favorite section is the licensed characters and possibly the stationary. I did leave with a couple of Sanrio items but nothing major. If you're looking to furnish a kitchen or house pretty inexpensively this would be your place. Don't go in expecting service other than checkout and you'll be fine! I'm sure if you visit during the week you will be able to take your time and see what's in here! read more

Could it be the "TEMU" in the U.S. Selling low quality items at a higher than it should be Price, because the claim is to be Japanese. Like going to Japan, buying a snack bag of ruffles for 6.00 The service is good, the store is very clean I want them to succeed Yet, I won't really shop there, because there was nothing I actually liked I'm partial, want them to succeed, wouldn't buy anything they currently had, not unsatisfied at all, but the way it is, there just wasn't anything for me. I was expecting more, but I'm sure this location is a far cry from their flagship stores. It is Wentzville after all. As it is, I would consider it the size of a Dollar General store and roughly the same variety of content, albeit of a Japanese bent. I took my time and browsed every aisle. There were some interesting items, but nothing too compelling. The only section that really interested me was their snacks, food and drinks area. Some items can be found at the World Market stores without having to go so far out of my way, but there was plenty that I had never seen before. For that reason, Daiso will still be a place to go when I get a craving for something outside of normal American snacks and mainstream ramen. I'll probably wait until I head that way to visit friends, so it won't be quite so inconvenient. read more

Omg yes! They came to Missouri! We drove all the way from Kansas City. It's perfect for home goods, decorations and stationery. The checkout was quick and efficient. I love the food selection the best. All the products are very affordable. Perfect for those on a budget. I can't wait until they open their Kansas City locations. read more
