Daiso is a Japanese dollar store. It seems like they have a little bit of everything. There are toys, gardening, kitchenware, snacks. The aisles are fun to wander up and down and see everything that there is to offer. Each item is in Yen pricing but there are guides that has the dollar pricing. Decided to check it out while in the area. They have a wide variety of things and prices are pretty good. It's a little more than another discount store I've been to but still very reasonable. There are Japanese snacks and drinks and a lot of housewares and some toys. The pricing on packages is in Japanese but they have a key posted so that you can figure out the cost. We didn't see anyone on the floor to ask questions of and at the register, no-one was there but there was a self-checkout. I can't imagine waiting in line to get into this store but it's a cool experience. I had never been in a store like this so it was fun to walk around. There are tons of interesting snack items and otherwise most items are what you'd find at a dollar store. However their selection of items is much more expansive than the dollar store. I chatted with one of the workers to see if there were any hidden gems and she said no, but then showed me her favorite ramen and some kind of bread. Based on a pricing picture from a few months ago, they've significantly raised their prices just in the past few months. This place is worth the stop in my opinion and a preteen/teens dream. read more

Essentially, Daiso is similar a "dollar" store. The products range from snack foods to stationery to stuffed animals and generally are between 100 and 500 yen. Signs throughout the store show price conversions. My young niece and nephew love it here. She gets miniatures from the crafting area for her collection, and he gets snacks. It's a fun, inexpensive store. Bring your own bag or prepare to pay for a reusable one. They do have a few people working the floor to answer questions, as well as people working the registers. read more

Daiso was recommended by a friend. It's a fun little Japanese dollar store with some unique items. I probably spent an hour or so walking around this store with my daughter looking for gifts for her friends and relatives. She really loved how all the prices were in yen, but don't worry they have conversion charts at the ends of the isles. We were able to fund a basket full of unique toys and gift items for everyone and it was pretty cheap. The checkout process is basically self service but easy enough, just be prepared to pay for bags if you need them. read more

Daiso brings back fond memories of our trip to Japan, and that nostalgia goes a long way for me. This is a Japanese dollar store, and it carries a lot of the same products/ household goods as we saw at the Daiso stores in Japan. I'm a huge fan of Daiso having been to their stores in Los Angeles many times over the years. This store is huge offering items for crafts, gardening, home organization, kitchen, toys, snacks, office, beauty, and more. Do keep in mind though that items are non-returnable and non-refundable. I had bought a tray that I hadn't noticed had a crack in it so make sure you inspect your items before purchase (the store would not exchange for a new one). Wow! You can spend a couple of hours at this store. Lots of random goods from household, school supplies, beauty products and food. There was so much to go through and I bought things I didn't know I needed. The drawback was figuring out the price since it was in yen. There are rate conversions posted on everywhere. I went in to see what this new store was all about with this new Japanese store opening near Bashas sunrise & Kolb Sw strip mall . I've heard good things from a neighbor from Washington state whose mother is from Japan and shops at the store there . I stepped in and first reaction was how cold the ac was, as the second review said it was 100 degrees 21 days ago . It's fixed now. I really didn't go through much of the store. I saw an isle of Disney items that some family love . It was frustrating as the prices are in Japanese so I asked for help ? I was told you must look at a chart to decode decipher the price . I didn't really have the patience for that today . This Bashas strip mall area is becoming a fusion of cultural restaurants & now this Japanese store . Inca? Peruvian , Tuk tuk thai , the bandicted sp? Vietnamese sandwich shop on its way they say , and el charro in a separate building has been there for some time . It's interesting & exciting both . Great service and huge selection of products! Whenever I go to this Daiso I always pick up some Japanese snacks (curry, ramen, chips, etc) and some stationary. It's hard to beat the prices and quality for their pens, notebooks and stickers! read more

Visiting on second day open. There is still a line to enter, but it moves quickly. The girl at the door allows you in after someone exits. There was soo much to see and the prices were great. This store is basically a Japanese dollar store ($1.75) from what I understand; but higher priced items are marked. There are a lot of cute and unique items that are fun for gifts and also just unusual cleaning and household tools. The employees were helpful and all around the store as they were continually stocking. The paper bags at check out were 20 cents, or they had reusable cute bags for purchase. They had two self check out lines and 2-3 regular check out lines. read more

This is a large Asian dollar store type shop. They have many affordable storage and cleaning supplies as well as a large crafting assortment. They also have some unique snacks available. The only downfall is no returns or exchanges so you have to hope everything you purchase works the way it should. i've been a fan of this store since they opened in Tucson. However, I have noticed a pattern in their store. For some reason, they conveniently run out of plastic bags when you purchase items and you have to buy their bags if you wanna take your items in a bag home. and I usually have no problems buying one more bag to keep in my car trunk for groceries. But for today, however I really didn't want to spend four dollars on a plastic bag. I don't mind paying a dime or a nickel for a regular plastic bag for my items which totaled $48. The problem is when Julie the cashier tried to charge me four dollars for a bag. I then realized that that was their store gimmick. So I told her no I do not want to pay four dollars for a bag when I have plenty of cloth grocery store bags in my trunk. so then I took my purchases in the basket to my car and transferred it into the trunk and returned the contaminated beat up black basket that they have and I handed it back to Julie. Who, for some reason I think takes great responsibilities because people have been shoplifting their baskets. and since I was made to be a shoplifter, I wanted to make sure I handed Julie back her basket moral of the story is bring your own bag so you're not buying their bags if you decide to buy a couple of random items and you're really not saving that much money it's just cutsy store. however, I am a bit salty about my interaction with the cashier. read more

I've been to a location in Phoenix and I'm thrilled that this one in Tucson feels even bigger and a wonderful selection. Nice to have Japanese stuff in our town! Buyer Beware! First, there's no refunds or exchanges. Company policy, but the signage for it is practically non existent. Hidden behind a display on the cash register and in the far wall in lettering you can't read. Prices are next to impossible to figure out. Signage for that is hard to find too. And they charge you 20¢ a bag to carry your purchases out of the store. No real managers on site. Just the cashier as an "acting" manager. Cashier doesn't even bother to tell you all sales final. I hadn't even left the store when I asked for a refund and was then told all sales final. Won't be back. read more
